Hello Wubba, hello DK fans! I have just released my debut album CRASTI LAND and since the Donkey Kong Country soundtrack is among my top 3 biggest music inspirations, I thought I might share the news with other fans :) I have worked very very hard on this album and I would appreciate every single listen and review, thank you in advance! Have a banana day! PS: I loooove this mix, I listen to it many times a week, good work!!
I did... Have been a foreigner in Germany for friggin 25 years, learned to hate the government and to always feel like a 2nd class Citizen. Never had a real childhood due to that plus my skin disease was killing me. All is fine now though, so despite all the good memories, that certainly did exist in my childhood, I'd never want to go back.
Unfortunately, that's the way life is. We all feel that way at some point, all we can really do is just remember those times and try and travel back to them through music/games.

I lost my best friend two years ago. He loved DKC and DK games in general. I didn't grow up with them so I didn't understand. We did get to play Tropical Freeze together though so that was cool. Listening to this and I feel like I'm transported to his childhood to live and experience it for myself. I understand now Jeremiah. I miss you and I love you brother.
Dude thank you so much man. I'm pretty sure you're the main reason this video has picked up so much so thank you. I'd love to collab sometime if possible. I am a musician too so maybe we could collab on some Donkey Kong stuff or I could write a Donkey Kong Vaporwave song to put to one of your vids. Either way thank you for watching

I remember going to a summer house in the '90s when I was a kid. Too Young to appreciate the time I spent there with family so I mostly spent my time in the living room with my sister playing DKC2 I can still feel the summer breeze flow through the house as me and my sister experienced this grand adventure. Every time I hear Stickerbush Symphony It takes me back to that moment. No care. Not knowing what the pain of loss felt like or how cold the world can really get or how lonely life will get sometimes. Not having to confront my own mortality or realizing I'm on my own... Just me, My sister, And the glow of a CRV tv taking us on a grand adventure. I would give anything to relive that day one more time.
Maaaan. Nearly cried reading this. I got many memories too of this game and these tunes with my cousins late at night or when I'd be alone in my room when I got out of 🎒🏫 school trying to beat these hard levels
I love this comment I'm 35 with a kid of my own we play dkc on the snes together because I want him to have memories like yours and like mine of playing this game 😢

We moulded our minds during this time in our lives. It follows me to adulthood, and im so happy my life worked out - where I can still game. My pragmatism as a result of gaming is I feel more heightened than those who didn't play videogames growing up.
My dad bought me a gameboy color with this game. I miss those times, Im 30 now, times flies, enjoy and love your live. *Edit. My dad is fine and healthy guys!
I once played tropical freeze high and it felt just like this. I was born in 85 and I grew up with the original trilogy and one day I plan on setting up a classic crt TV with an actual snes to play the classics. It's not all about the resolution and graphics, it's about capturing a certain otherworldly nostalgic aesthetic.
That intro and this video in general just brought back so much good nostalgia. This takes me back to when I was younger, able to just sit and play Donkey Kong Country on the SNES for hours, without a worry on my mind. My life is going through some rough patches right now, but it's extremely comforting to be able to think back to those memories.
Dude same. I am glad to hear it’s bringing you back to a beautiful place. Yes I remember on those snowy winter days my brother and I would play this until sundown together. Beautiful times ❤️
I do recall playing such as this on SNES belonging to my younger 1/2 sister in '99, fun. Donkey Kong has come a crazy long way since '81 & I'm elated to have lived & enjoyed that day & age of gaming to this day.
Brings me back memories of a time when life was great. When the only worries were that your savegame is getting lost or your friends need to go home. Remember playing this game with so many friends of mine back in the early 2000's. Now I'm 24, worrying about so much stuff and thinking about life because of this nostalgia flashback.
This hits me hard man. This is the spirit of why I made this mix. Thank you so much for listening. It always takes me back such a beautiful time too. Thank you for sharing
"Nostalgia is a feeling throughout. Stated another way, we feel nostalgia even dwelling in our own country, beside the ones that are dearest to us. Despite a happy home and a happy family, a man may suffer from nostalgia, simply because he feels that his soul is being limited, that it does not develop as he wishes. Nostalgia is feeling powerless before the world, the pain of not being able to convey their spirituality to others.”
My youngest sister and I played countless hours of this game on SNES. Our relationship is fractured and I don't know if she will ever speak to me again, but it reminds me of when we were best friends. The hard things I went through in my young life were eased by these moments were I could escape from reality.
The nostalgia kicking in... I was 10 when dkc2 came out and its soundtrack is embeded and printed in my brain and memories. So much good times playing with my dad or my sister. So much time has passed. I am a vather myself now. My son will have a minecraft nostalgia haha
Yknow, I'm only 15. I never experienced these things when I was little. But I do consider myself to be a fan of them, I've played the games on my friends old systems that their parents have, and I think that's all that matters. I enjoy this stuff. Its relaxing and calming. Cheers lads, I'm gonna go eat boiled eggs now.
I'm 28 and I never experienced this as a kid either. The games are dated now. They're not very much fun relative to modern games. Especially if you don't have any nostalgia for them. But a lot of love and talent were poured into these games. The music illustrates that clearly. You don't have to have fond 90s memories of these things to appreciate them.
@@calska140 I just started playing Donkey Kong Country 1 this week. Haven't played it since I was 10. Even without the nostalgia it's still a very good game and you should give it a shot.
OmG bro... 7w7 that opening with the Rare logo animation + sound effects... it took my breath away... then just after that, that first remix starts... Sheeesh :') my eyes... Thank you for this compilation, and thank you to everyone that make it possible. I would love to see all these original composers and game staff more active at social media, like David wise :') and Koji Kondo... (I know Koji did't work on DK soundtrack), they seem to be low profile...
I think the SNES DKC games had some of the best video game music of all time. David Wise is an amazing game music composer. I think me playing the hell out of these games when I was a little kid definitely contributed to my love of electronic and trance music later in life.
There’s a lot of DK Country synthwave remixes out there and I think the reason is because the music from those games has a slight eerie feel to it and lends well to synth. I’m not sure about anyone else but I’ve always though synthwave has a slight eerie/creepiness to it whenever I listened.
I was no where near alive when these games realeased, haven't really played them really, but these songs are very nostalgic and dear to me after having heard them for three years. I cry now knowing that those days are long gone...
Love the dedication, and the Rareware theme at the intro. I had a memory like that...my best buddy growing up, hanging out playing DKC and Super Nintendo and guiding each other through the difficulties of childhood, always having each other's back. I haven't had a friendship like that since then.
I still remember the first 3 games I played on the Gameboy Color: Pokemon Red, Super Mario Bros Deluxe, and Donkey Kong Country. A sacred trio that I will always cherish.
I am really glad nintendo added DKC and DKC2 to the switch snes app, now I can play online with my friend who has similar platform skills as me. Listening a lot to this vaporwave remix when I am writing or drawing, thanks Wubba Lubba - it inspires me a lot.

Days that will never be back yes it’ll almost bring a tear to ur eye especially with all the chaos going on today! I do wish they would remake the first three donkey Kong countries , the levels and the music and the feel can’t be created without the passion of the times! I could if just had a studio. I would bring back the kremlins all new with new story and levels and music on par with theses games and the times they were made just updated! Things can be done the right way if the passion is there!! We all grow but it’s when we lose passion that things start to fade!

The 3 SNES DKC'S have been part of my life since childhood. I have 101%, 102%, and 103% them, speedran them, and casually came back to them repeatedly for almost 30 years when I've been in need of a healthy dose of nostalgic comfort. Very good job on this video. Not only did you compile some great remixes but you paired it with gameplay! AND to top it off you hit several of the Easter eggs during gameplay so that's very enjoyable to watch! Thank you so much for this one!
1. I'm happy to see a succinct and timely response, in professional format rather than on WAN. While the podcast is a nice way to live-tackle issues and news, it's by no means planned out, beyond selecting topics and setting a time. It's a podcast, and it's made to entertain. Stop using it for addressing larger issues in the future, and you'll stay golden. 2. I'm disappointed that the Billet labs incident happened. I do respect that you all owned up in this video, but something like that should never have happened - so I hope this will be a major action item for the entire team going forward in the next few weeks, as you all review what you're doing right and what needs improvement. 3. Linus. Buddy. I know you mean well, and I know you sometimes get overtaken by your own emotions and run wild, just like any human person. What might be good for both you and the team is, get someone on the payroll who can vet your posts before you send them. It's always good to have a second pair (or third, or tenth) of eyes on your official copy, which is NOT something a typical person has or needs. But if you're going to keep your name and face as a part of the brand (which I respect massively btw), help is needed. I trust you to know that already, and I hope you'll take the feedback seriously. Thank you all. Thank you Steve at GN, thank you Billet labs, thank you LTT community. Life is weird, and we all gotta live it the best we know how.
Good stuff Wubba Lubba. Donkey Kong and synthwave mixed, what's not to love! 👍 ✌ subbed. looking forward to more mixes/gameplay from you. Wish you well
thank you so much for this mix! these songs are really something. never having played donkey kong as a child, i think it is awesome that this music nonetheless hits so close to home and makes me feel nostalgic. it reminds me of playing mario 64 on the nintendo 64 with my siblings, the first console i bought with my own money and which i had saved up for a long time. i had this big bundle box with mario flying with the wing cap and was so thrilled about it. i wonder if the box is still in the attic at my parents house, i should go look for it
Congratulations bro, amazing your work. I've played this game many times and have always loved the soundtrack, and now, you've made it even more fun to listen to.
Its crazy how many old games work well in vaporwave. I guess it is down to the developers having to get creative with the sounds they had available due to hardware limitations and that creative process lends itself to remixes simply down to how open ended the original technology was of the time. Unlike regular CD quality audio where you can just add premade music to the game they had to basically synthesize everything from the start. None of the instruments for the vast majority were real in any way. Everything is a fabrication using 1's and 0's. That's vaporwave in its purest form if you think about it.
10 year old me would binge play this whenever I was visiting my Norwegian friends house, we’d be in the basement of this custom built house deep in the woods with amazing glass views of the forest. Like shit, I was spoiled to be able to play a video game based on the jungle plus I was surrounded by a ton of foliage myself Lmfaooo it was awesome! I’ve been redoing all the donkey Kong games the past week with my roommate. Love this video/music by the way!!!!!! I downloaded it. Also I am now 30.

Idk why they went so hard with the soundtrack for a game about monkeys but I'm glad they did
Good stuff Wubba Lubba. Donkey Kong and synthwave mixed, what's not to love! 👍 ✌ subbed. looking forward to more mixes/gameplay from you. Wish you well
Cloud9Mitchell J thank you so much brotha. ❤️ wish you well too , it makes me feel so wonderful to see this love. Thank you
Aquatic Ambiance will never not go hard as fuck, but this mix is damn sexy!
thank you so much for this mix! these songs are really something. never having played donkey kong as a child, i think it is awesome that this music nonetheless hits so close to home and makes me feel nostalgic. it reminds me of playing mario 64 on the nintendo 64 with my siblings, the first console i bought with my own money and which i had saved up for a long time. i had this big bundle box with mario flying with the wing cap and was so thrilled about it. i wonder if the box is still in the attic at my parents house, i should go look for it
This is fire , perfect to listen to before going to work for the day
Thank you
Thank you for listening ❤️
Congratulations bro, amazing your work. I've played this game many times and have always loved the soundtrack, and now, you've made it even more fun to listen to.
This is fantastic!!! DKC2 is my favorite game of all time and you did the soundtracks amazing justice.
This is a fantastic video. I love the lush DK soundtracks. Thanks bro
dude this work is beautifull, thnks!
This is superb. Well done. Hit the spot frenz lovin it too.
This is beautiful.
I really like this choice of bass line synth! kudos
This was fire ngl
Thank you for this.
this slaps so hard, it had to resign from the academy shortly after
Please make more of these
Got DAMN that closing track is abusively catchy!

@@WubbaLubbaLoFi you should make a mix of all the classics in this style - Zelda, Turtles, Top Gear, etc
Can't believe I just found this mix. I'm trying to study and I can hardly focus (in a good way).
this is brilliant
this is such a dope ass video, i love it! keep up the good work
10 year old me would binge play this whenever I was visiting my Norwegian friends house, we’d be in the basement of this custom built house deep in the woods with amazing glass views of the forest.
At around 9:24 I thought I was listening to the Gran Turismo soundtrack from PS1! Oooo!
Absolutely gorgeous mix, ty for your service 🤝
