I remember when I was a kid, maybe 6 years old I didn't understand the game. It seemed so mature, so mysterious, besides I could not understand English (spanish speaker). Yet I remember every morning waking up and spending hours trying to figure out stuff. It took me years literally to get to the grown-up part of the game. It made me cry when I finally took the sword out for the first time. I felt a great accomplishment.

Diferente.
Hoy lo vencí por última vez, 100%.

The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time reminds me of the simpler days before I had to worry about high school, stress, anxiety, drama, or losing people that are important to me. This game makes me miss the times when I would go out with my friends and climb trees, explore the old, abandon hotel near my house as if it were a dungeon we had to explore and beat monsters and solve dungeon puzzles, and simply be kids, but then I realize what this game truly means; this game is about growing up and learning that we shouldn’t cry because we lost something instead smile because we had these things in the first place.

When my friend was battling cancer in 2018, he mentioned multiple times how he wanted to fade away like the deku tree, when his time came, I had to watch him take his last breath eventually and he indeed, did fade away like the deku tree. We both loved OoT, MM, and his favorite Zelda was Windwaker, which I hope to play someday. A lot of the things we enjoyed together like music and games haunted me to an extent after he passed away. I grew up with this game and the story, the music, the art, the symbolism, the memories, THIS RENDITION, all of it is carried with me and will be for the rest of my life. I'm only 15 but it feels like it's been so long since I layed my hands on that controller for the first time. Time is something humans need to cherish more. Though I'm a youngin and haven't gotten to play OT, I get to do this now with my sister. For each Zelda game we have when I was working on beating them, she'd ask to watch me play them. She asks to watch me play echoes of wisdom all the time now. With my younger brother, I remember the day we first beat Thunder Blight Gannon in botw. It was summer and we'd spent all afternoon trying. Then right before it's time for dinner, we manage it. That was a very special triumph.

  • @deaththeclover

The Legend of Zelda series is honestly such a masterpiece. Though nostalgic, it's music and story is so strong. Just the idea that every Link and Zelda we meet is almost always a brand new one, is enough to bring me to tears. Knowing that the Link we once played as in Ocarina of Time has long since finished his journey and died an unsung hero... It's extremely saddening to know that the Hero of Time is perhaps the most iconic and yet the most forgotten of all of the Links coming after him.
To this day, whenever I play a new Zelda game and I see the new Link, I am instantly reminded of the Hero of Time and his legacy. He fought, gave up his own life, and suffered tremendously just so that the people of tomorrow could live. Every moment of happiness that happens in a new Zelda game, I am reminded of the happiness that the Hero of Time could never experience...
The Hero of the Sky's tale may have been the grandest, but no other tale can be as heartbreaking and heart-wrenching than the hero who fought for the people who never knew he existed.

Unfortunate as it may be, this was what he wanted. Ironic that he is known to be the hero of time but forgotten in history. He was a true hero and fitting of the title given to him, a legendary hero with a courageous heart. Spared the people of having to burden the very thought of knowing they would perish by stepping in and sacrificing himself to save them. Knowing full well he would not be rewarded for his righteous deeds. Gave up his childhood to save the lives of many. He died as he lived. A true hero.

The saddest part is that after all the hardships he went through he still became a hyrule soldier to protect its people, even if no one knew him, even if zelda never gor to know about what he did for her and for everyone else, even if no one cared about him and he didn't have anyone, he was still there, protecting his kingdom and his princess only to become a stalfos (I cry when I think that he probably died in the kokiri forest, where he grew up) without anyone to pass his teachings down to (at least until twilight princess) or maybe without a family who cared about his death.

I have a sorta similar situation.
My stepdad was separated from me because of some sort of legal issue. He was an amazing guy, pretty chill, but sometimes got a bit too serious. He has anger issues like me, so he was able to help me sort that out. When I was like... 6, maybe? I was still primarily living at my mom’s apartment. I would always watch him play the game, looking at how cool it was. He let me play, and I got used to it quickly, being my first game and all. I plan to finally beat the game before 2020 ends, for the nostalgia. On a much lighter note, he also let me try Mario 64. I couldn’t figure out how to go across the bridge because the concept of jumping was out of the picture for me. I gave up in about 30 seconds, and I look back at those memories and reflect on how much you can improve so much, just because you start out helpless. I miss John, and he will always be remembered. I may see him again, maybe won’t ever see him again. But I will hold hope in my heart that I will see him again. I can’t help but feel so hopeful, yet so sad. I probably sound redundant now, but....

Incredible with how many people in the comments can relate to heavily with this game. Not just on a nostalgic level but a spiritual level. What is it about this game that brings gamers together of all types? Not only does Nintendo make great games but they have created games that every industry wishes to capture in an individual. They have captured that part of someone that makes them feel whole again when they play these games, I truly feel sorry for people who never got a chance to play these games when they were children. We all wish to play these games again like its the first time because thats how incredibly captivating they are. NO OTHER FRANCHISE HAS ANYTHING CLOSE TO BEING THIS GREAT. When we die i hope i can relive these memories again, I would kill for that and i would kill to live through an adventure that link goes through. For those who read this, why are these games just so amazing? Ive played so many video games in my time but time and time again the zelda series is just unbelievably incomparable to any experience!

Hey man, I know it's a late reply, but since this game is timeless, so is this comment haha.
I think the reason that so many people resonate with this game on a spiritual level is because it has such a beautiful atmosphere. You control a character that is trying to save the world, and in doing so you get on an exciting adventure and you make good friends and relationships while doing that and in pursuing what is meaningful. It is truly such a deep need for every human to want to live an interesting and fulfilling life, and when compared to reality, reality is just boring and pale. Im not sure if that's supposed to make you sad or whatever, me personally, I am truly grateful for the people who worked at Nintendo who produced this game, so that I could have so many happy hours playing this. Yes, maybe reality sucks in comparison, but this game has shaped me into becoming a person striving to make the world a better place, because, at the end of the day we can't escape reality, so I might as well do what I can to make other people's lives at least a little better, just like the people at Nintendo made mine better by producing this astonishing game.

My mum bought a Nintendo 64 from a friend of the family when I was around 6 years old. Alongside it was a copy of OoT with the savefile of "AM". I never knew who AM was and why that person had only finished the Deku Tree but I continued playing on that save, reaching the adult timeline and the haunting music of the forest temple where young me let the game rest for a few years before I returned, the journey of this mysterious Link "AM" in my head. WHo was that person? My family couldn't tell me when I asked why there was a savefile of "AM" because they claimed that they had never bought the system from anyone, was this all just a memory I had created in my head? A phantasy that became indistingushable from reality? I was around 13 when I finally finished OoT and the Story of "AM" drew to a close, I had obtained everything I needed to beat Ganondorf, never 100 % the savefile. 3 years later I returned to my N64, finding the completed file of "AM", beginning a new story, this time fully completing the game. When I was 22 I lent out my N64 to a trusted friend only for them to claim that they had already returned it to me, never to see it nor the mysterious "AM" ever again. But I'd like to believe that the savefile lives on somewhere outside my memories.

Yesterday I got my wisdom teeth pulled, and it was my first time ever having surgery. Needless to say I was very nervous, walking into the unknown, as they didn’t put me under during the surgery. In which case, they allow for you to listen to music to soothe your mind and block out the sound of the high power drills that are being operated within you. I made a playlist of songs to listen to, yet the only one I really found myself listening to throughout the approximately 40 minute procedure, was this very Zeldawave video. Though it was a somewhat painful experience, however listening to this chilled me out and calmed my mind so much and so effectively, as it took me back to my happy childhood years, growing up listening to these very songs...thank you. Thank you for making one of my experiences of going into the unknown, turn into a state of relaxation and nostalgia, even through the pain that was surgery. I will always remember Zeldawave 💚

At the time, my brother, who was four years older than me, had "Ocarina of Time" as a birthday present. I watched him play it next to me. It was my favorite time.
It is a masterpiece that will never fade away.
It is a masterpiece that will never fade away because it resonates throughout the world.
Now that I am an adult, I am grateful to be able to see "Ocarina of Time" again as a remixed work.
Although it originated in Japan, "Ocarina of Time" continues to be perfected again by sensibilities around the world.
    I am healed by it.
This video is also very nice.
Thank you very much. Time passes while the ocarina continues to play. That is "Ocarina of Time"!

    決して色褪せることのない名作です。
    世界中に響き渡るからこそ、色褪せない名作なのです。
    大人になった今、リミックス作品として「時のオカリナ」を再び見ることができることに感謝しています。

This is a lot listening to this all at once. It definitely brings me back to when I was a kid and I could barely beat this game. I remember I finally after 4 years got to ganon's tower and decided enough is enough and played my heart out beating all of the mini temple's at 8 years old. I brought all of my friends over in my neighborhood and we sat infront of our tv with my brother there as well and watched as I beat ganon then ran down the tower and delivered the final blow after a very intense boss battle with little life left. I felt so accomplished as I beat him and finally got the credits screen with all of the creatures and people dancing and having a parade. I remember I turned to my friends and cheered after I defeated ganon and they were happy for me as well, and my brother just couldn't believe it. Times were so much simpler then, I now have a family of my own and my friends are in different places starting families of their own, I miss those times sometimes just to be young and naive.

I’m actually going to stop being a dickhead and look at your channel to see what else you have. But you have created perfection. It’s the best thing ever to fall asleep to. It’s the best thing to smoke to. It’s the best thing to just chill too. Seriously I hope you understand how much I love this song. I appreciate your existence dude. Have an amazing life, I wish you the best.

    Listening to the Sheik's Theme part; Thought I'd put these here for others;
-The flow of time is always cruel... it's speed seems different for each person, but no one can change it...A thing that does not change with time is a memory of younger days.
    - It is something that grows over time... a true friendship. A feeling in the heart that becomes even stronger over time. The passion of friendship will soon blossom into a righteous power and through it, you will know which way to go...This song is dedicated to the Power of the Heart.
    - The rising sun will eventually set...a newborn's life will fade... From sun to moon, moon to sun... Give peaceful rest to the living dead.
    - Time passes, people move. Like a river's flow, it never ends. A childish mind will turn to noble ambition. Young love will become deep affection. The clear water's surface reflects growth. Now listen to the Serenade of Water to reflect upon yourself.
    - This is the melody that will draw you into the infinite darkness that absorbs even time. Listen to the Nocturne of Shadow.
    - They say that there is no medicine that can cure a fool. I guess that's true. (Potion Shop Old Woman).
    - Ganondorf, pitiful man, without a strong righteous mind, he could not control the power of the Gods. (Zelda)
    - When peace returns to Hyrule, it will be time to say goodbye ! (Zelda)
    - The three Goddesses hid the Triforce containing the power of the Gods somewhere in Hyrule... if someone with an evil mind has his wish granted, the world will be consumed by evil. (Zelda)
    - I have played this song to princess Zelda ever since she was a baby. There is mysterious power in these notes. (Impa)

This is the best one yet, hands down. Not to mention it is the perfect length, you get right to the meat of the beats and it never feels stale.

I’ve never played Zelda in my life but this is so relaxing. I can literally listen to Zora’s Domain on repeat, I come here when I’m stressed or my anxiety is getting to me and I just wanna say I appreciate you for making this man. I know it’s a 3 year old video and you probably won’t see it but seriously, thank you.

I've considered it before. I felt like i wanted to vanish, but i love this world too much. Zelda taught me to have wonder in the world, to appreciate every person, place, and creature. I dont want to die, and im glad you dont either ❤
