What I never understood is that these CEO’s go undercover on television to find out what is going on while they are paying huge salaries to District and Regional managers who should be addressing these issues. Not to mention the tons of people who work at those offices. Maybe they should go undercover in those mid management centers and figure out why they are failing.

You'd think...or at least HOPE...that everyone in middle management know's who the CEO is and would recognise them. It would also be crap to watch. Besides...if you want to know what middle management is doing, you're not going to get the truth by going directly to the source. Going directly to the bottom will tell you everything you need to know, without having to ask questions people are just going to lie in reply to.

There nothing worse than a district manager.
They are mostly pushy people that lie to the employees AND to upper management. It's always someone else's fault.

@@ashscott6068 I don’t disagree. I guess I should have said why don’t these CEO’s go after that middle management? We both know that they know who is who. If they don’t even worse. Basically my first stop after filming would be there, with cameras, asking WTF? If they don’t, it will happen again elsewhere and the company gets the same situation. Maybe I am being overly simplistic.

These shows can be very entertaining and also horrifying. I was wroking in an animation studio in London and it was a lovely sunny day and the American, woman production supervisor couldn't understand how the freelancers could say: "Nah, we're going to the park today. We'll be in tomorrow! It's too nice a day to come in.
It seems, judging by these shows that American workers are little more than slaves granted virtually no work/life balance. It's corporate hell.
Much as I love these shows, they don't ring true. Here for example, we have a guy saying he puts up with a shitty job because he needs to make money. Are we really expected to believe that he doesn't know that the guy he is talking to is the Undercover Boss?!!! Would you slag a company off on national TV, knowing that it would be seen by the company employing you when you desperately need the work?
You would have to be really, really thick not to realise what was going on, hence the land-grabby, sob stories employees tell in the hope that there is some payoff to be had while the bosses shed crocodile tears and often look like they are just pretending to care.
God, I would HATE to live in America. Their health care is a bad joke and they are just slaves yet are deluded into thinking they are free.

Working at an animation studio in London as a freelancer is very different than low level employment or a job with deadlines. Even the garbage man has to meet a daily deadline. Unless you own the business, you are always living up to other peoples expectations.

@@Bob_Jones123 What?!! 😂 You obviously have no idea about deadlines in the TV industry. Couriers even pick up deliveries labelled "useless if delayed"

I worked at FD in Williams, AZ, as an ASM. I worked there for 2 years until 5/3/23. I had to leave due to the fact that my manager was sleeping with the new guy he was also an ASM, and their behavior was disgusting . I didn't approve, and everyone kept telling me not to go to corporate because "karma Rhonda karma " so I didn't, I didn't want to be the snitch. Let me tell you, in my 39 years in the work field, I had never experienced the vulgar behavior of someone who was supposed to be a team leader. So, I started calling them out on their disgusting behavior. On 5/3/23 the 2 of them attacked me verbally telling me no likes me just random stupid shit.I called the DM told her what had been going on and what had just happened needless to say the 2 of them are still working there... The customers were telling me all kinds of unethical behavior they witnessed it was embarrassing.

Family dollar is a terrible company. The majority of their stores are in urban areas. They keep their safes in a place they shouldn't. Which causes the stores to be robbed. This places customers and employees in danger.

Assuming this isn't scripted - always a major assumption with reality TV - why the hell would that Steven guy act like that in front of the cameras ? If he was an actor bought in to add some spice to the episode, why would the employees go along with it ? Reality TV is weird at the best of times, but I have to wonder if this guy had a medical issue or if he simply wanted to get fired. Workers on minimum wage really dont have a lot to lose by just throwing that spatula on the floor and walking out.
