I feel like, while AP’s, SAT’s, Grades and extracurriculars are extremely important for your future, try to act based off of the kind of fond memories you’d like to look back on. It’s ok not to do office hours some days, and it’s ok to take some breaks. If you think you HAVE to study all the time for whatever reason at least try to sit down with friends and solve things together. Moral of the story, Highschool isn’t just about chalking up your University resume! :)
Yea that’s the problem with people these days, they focus solely on studying and forget about their actual life. Thank god I understood from the start that it wasn’t about grades only or else I would have had no social life
That’s what I always wonder and the answer is probably no because realistically it’s difficult juggling both a social life and having high grades. Takes this from someone who is a high achieving high school student, I have to schedule time for my friends or I force them to join the same clubs so I can spend time with them, otherwise I would lose them quite quickly
Thank you so much!! I really needed this, I get so caught up with AP classes and extracurriculars that I forget that living in the moment is definitely essential !
Im a sophomore and this is my first year taking ap classes and hard courses and honestly, I wish i took care of my health more. I had insomnia throughout the entire year and it ruined my life quality. Im surprised i managed to get A's and B's instead of Cs and D's considering how exhausted and awful i felt. Next year, ill make sure to balance it out. I dont want my life to be all work like it felt this year; I want to enjoy it. I think the constant work also stunted my creativity as I didn't have much time to explore things and philosophize about life. Lifeless worker drone is what i felt like
So it seems to me that a good portion of students at top schools wish they "actually lived" in high school. Question is, is their grind over enjoyment way of life the reason why they got in? Or is my assumption Abt the schools population wrong: is there a great number of people at these top schools that actually did "live" during their high school years?
At the same time, why would you ask those students what would they change if they already got into the most prestigious school there is through the courses they take, I mean I understand the extra circular activities but the rest I see is an expense for taking the rigorous courses as they thought abt there future having free time then but not now
Dude I’m not even joking but like I had a co-op job and had to quit because of my mental health but after that I enjoyed my senior year of high school a lot more and I went to bed at 8:00-9:00 every single night for the last 4 months of my senior year. I got so much rest during those last 4 months and that allowed me to live in the moment more….. now that it’s summer I’ve been going to bed at 12:00-1:00 SOME nights sometimes at 10:00-11:00 I miss the last 4 months of my senior year when I actually got sleep and enjoyed seeing all my favorite people every day. And it’s been 3 weeks almost🥲
It’s probably because of the Asian culture and how much more intense Singapore grinds students into learning so much content that whenever I see videos telling me to enjoy my current school life I get a little annoyed because it’s basically impossible.
I wished I slept more and exercised so I can be taller. I just wanted to be a 6 foot tall girl but I'm only 5'6 and now I'm trying to grow 2-3 more inches at 20.
What activités can I do to get into good universités? Should I get a job?? Go to volunteer?? I am 15 right now and basically have nothing to say for myself except good grades and stuff about my personality and interests but nothing on paper.
Well, it might be a tad bit too late for that, gonna move to a bigger school next year so I didn't get to live in the moment too much for my current school. And it'll be hard trying to adjust fast enough to be as passionate about events in a new school, and that is if the new school even has freedom to that level, it might be too much of a crowded study droning school Fuck, my parents even warned me about this. "Learn new stuff, you'll regret being too academic later" they had said. And how right they were
These are just illusions. You cannot have it both ways. Friends are like vapours, they dissipate over time. You can always make new ones wherever you go. Success is about making sacrifices.
Seminar’s a tough class (my experience, depends on teacher). It can, however give you a college credit that looks nice on resumes, improve your presentation skill and critical skills, and improve your essay writing abilities,

@Donda 3 Well you should try to focus on that kind of stuff, you should also *try* to have a bit of a social life and have actual good relationships.
@Donda 3 NEEERRRD
@Equinox. What? What the fuck. fuck no those shits aren't important for your future
@Donda 3 Fuck no they don't. That shit doesn't matter.
But…if they spent more time w friends and family, would they hv made it to Harvard or Yale?
No
But Harvard And Yale isn't everything
The point of life is to hv satisfaction from it

well, if they applied the first regret they had, they would not be where they are now. You win some you lose some. Everything in life is compromise.
It’s easier to say things like that when you’re already admitted to those kind of colleges
Why are there no comments on this short? It's good advice
I think its a little funny that you ask kids who’s actions led them to Harvard to tell people to do different things.
Which means some things they didnt do could have still gotten the into Harvard whilst being more fun, or are more important to them than Harvard

Big fan of your videos btw(first)
Them: I wish I got more sleep
Him: listen to your mind when you need rest
*me watching this with my alarm set in 3 hours*

I’m not an expert, but you can do those to build your application. Make sure not to overwork.
