The words "l'm sorry", "l apologize" and "l love you" are very rare from African parents to their children. The love is there though, it's just expressed through actions.
I remember my mom once beat me up for doing something I didn't do, once the truth came out that I didn't do what I was accused off. The next day when she came back from work she bought me a brand new smartphone instead of just apologizing 🤣
As a Nigerian, this is definitely true of African mums, but gradually we are changing the narratives, but will take time because I sometimes do this stuff with my kids just as my mum did to us growing up lol, but we are alright. I love Africa 🇳🇬
African mothers are like that. They're sweet and loving after discipline you . They will never say sorry to you however, been nice afterward it's a technical apologies
Common u ain't no african mom,u most likely live in the western world, real african mums don't apologise even when you are a fully grown adult,it is culturally assumed that it's disrespectful to expect your parent to apologise even when they are wrong, that's what makes them African moms

Our African parents do apologise, its just not packaged the way our younger generations deem it appropriate. I have learnt to accept the differences from my parents because its what they are. Even more so the fact that they show more in action than words, which is perfectly okay. Its all love..
True Nigerian mom don't apologize when they are wrong. The only way they apologize is give you food or try to initiate a trending topic or gossip about someone
In Africa it is only now that we are learning about different ways of expressing these different emotional states🤷♂️ - i still hesitate to hug loved ones (never mind strangers), cant spit the word "love" - im ok with apologies because of church
African parents don't apologize. just eat Broe 🤣🤣. and yes, parents move on quicker. as a kid growing up my mother would give me a hiding and then as soon as she finishes, she would ask if I needed anything to eat. while I'm still crying.🤣🤣
African Parents will neverrrrrrrrrrrrr apologize.... Neverrrrr.... They'll look for every other way yo say sorry without saying sorry.... Same with African husbands
😂i remember one Day i dont want eat because i dont like that food but at night i was very hungre i end up eat oringes from that Day any food there prepard at home i never reject it africa you have to apreciet the food prepard for you if not you will go bed hungre. 😂😢😢😢
Yeah the rules in my house was if you're not allergic then you either eat it or go hungry. I actually went on a hunger strike for 4 days, my mum never begged me to eat, I did that all on my own after I could barely walk..😅😅 I learned my lesson lol
African parents don't apologize, especially the mothers,,,, regardless of the magnitude of their fault,,, they would rather cook your fave food and fill your plate yo the fullest, send you to the shops and tell you to keep the change,, or just give you money
My mum will always be like " Chisom, come and see this dress if it will fit you" whenever she upsets me... And don't you dare to tell them to apologize, it won't end well 😹💔
The most you can do is like not eat their food, one word answers and do as they ask without attitude. No eye contact, they enter a room you leave... Eventually it's like "You know I love you right?" and you all like "Oh okay..." then walk away. But don't be like Mozisi all dumb. Have a snack cache fool!😂
The ending was funny! 😂😂Africans and African parents are all the same it was colonisation that made us look and feel different, separated us. Lovely continent. Thank you.
Most African parents don't apologize never rather day will do something nice

I told mine I wanted an apology. She looked me up and down I took a step back just incase and she told me to go and ask God for it😅😂

Waiting for an apology from an African mother is like trying to squeeze water from a rock 😅😅
More like waiting to board a flight at a train station
African mothers are like that. They're sweet and loving after discipline you . They will never say sorry to you however, been nice afterward it's a technical apologies
As an African mom i choose to apologize and say i love you to my kids because it was not done in my household growing up
