In Nigeria some people have dogs in their house as security incase a thief tries to rob the house. While few have dogs as pets and also some roaming on the streets with no owner, and yes of course majority don't train their pets

My Mum was against any kind of pets till my younger sister brought Adele home a cute black lasha. She was supposed to stay for a week but mum fell in love with her. Today they are best friends.

I grew up with dogs and cats. But we don’t kiss them on the mouth or sleep with them on our beds. Dogs are mostly friends who can protect the house and cats…they are doing cats things😂. Nobody knows what cats do😂.
But they are animals and we don’t try to change them and threat them like humans. They eat what we eat, don’t wear pants😂, and live their lives.
I grew up with animals. Don’t like the term pets. It feels condescendant for me. Don(t know why. But i know in Africa, people like animals, respect them a lot but that’s it. We let them do their lives and we do our own

In South Africa ,rural areas or informal settlement ,dogs are treated as security (2bd home alarm)in case of thieves entering our homes
Widely in Nigeria, dogs are for security, not pet. Some still keep them as pet, but not all home
Living in America, most of the older generation still do not really have pets haha. It's usually the kids that convince them. It's not that common. Where I am from in Africa, dogs stayed outside and are used for protection really.
This video was so fun to watch 😂😂😂 especially when mama Ojo wanted to kill the dog. If it was here in Nigeria she would have actually killed it and if she is Calabar, She would eat it

I keep dogs as pets. I have 4 of them. Lots of people keep them as pets. But some don’t. They have them but for security purposes
Most Africans especially the boomers doesn't like dogs and cat, to the extent that my mum even pray and fast against cats because where I come from, most people believe that cats are witches😂😂😂 by the way, I am from Nigeria even in Calabar they eat dogs

I had 3dogs at different times growing up, buyt had 2 as i grew up and moved out, love big dogs,my dogs were big dogs,
We have dogs but mostly they are for protection and live outside,never in the house or treated that good anyway now you g adults take them as pets but our parents would freak out
As for me I don't hate animals I'm only frighten by them including Chicken, dogs, cats etc

I think the only thing we keep as pets it's cats but dogs are for security so they stay outside but now the rich are having those high bleed dogs as pet

Dogs are there for security, cats are there for Rats... So to some extent they are pets with reasons
It can be tough compromising with African parents to keep the pets in the home, they will be mad at first.....but after a while.....they tend to bond with the pet while yelling at their children for not giving it clean water to drink....It just becomes either a barely tolerant presence in the home or another spoiled sibling.😂
Nigerian parents sometimes end up liking dogs after a while and start taking care of them 😂

It's actually sad to see how much we as black people don't know about ourselves, it was actually a tradition for every child (boy or girl) to have a dog. The reason for this was to get young children to be in tune with nature, this is evident in the stories we grew up reading where that boy or that girl usually had a dog following him or her around. This was not for security instead it taught children to respect life and nature, our forefathers were masterminds. This may be one of the reasons why we have such high rates of black on black violence nowadays because we are not taught from the early years to respect and be friends with nature. Getting your child a pet goes a long way in getting them in tune with nature and to respect life in general. Great show guys, THANK YOU.
