This watch looks phenomenal, will likely be pre-ordering the black/brown colorway soon. As a frequent flyer who is often having to adjust the time a few hours on my SKX, this true GMT jumping local hour hand feature seems like a life saver. Love the tapered 7 link jubilee style bracelet and the domed sapphire! Also I live just a few blocks from their offices per Google Maps so, glad to support a local Dallas company!
I have a few Jack Mason watches, love the design wish their watchbands were 8 1/2 - 9 inches so I didn't have to locate a different watchband in order to wear it. What's the length of this watchband on this watch?
I also got the Zelos Mako GMT frost and it is very nice with a great price but it is a much thicker watch. Most of that thickness is crystal though. Still the case on Jack Mason is thinner and much more a daily wear style. I'm seriously considering getting it as well. The upcoming Vaer G5 Meridian GMT has the same 9075 movement at a lower price but it is thicker like the Zelos.
I was about to pull the trigger on this Jack Mason watch. Then I realized that it has a 24th hour which is technically incorrect. If you look at other dive watches with a 24 hour bezel, they have an inverted triangle or arrow instead of the number 24. 24 is never displayed because a 24-hour watch or clock is zero-indexed. Moreover, a day is not exactly 24 hrs. because the earth moves along an eccentric orbit and can have up to 7.9 seconds more or less than 24 hours.
From my POV this is the best true GMT at an affordable price. Nothing comes close specially in this size. The MIDO might come as a second close but again bigger. Plus being one of the only few companies in the world being able to use this movement. If you know anything better than this as a true affordable GMT pls don't hesitate to share
Not bad but GMT watches are redundant in my opinion . I can have 20, to 30 or more different cities and time zones on my World Clock function on my IPhone so at a glance I can see all those different time zones . If you don’t wear the watch regularly or say you take it off on the week end or while on holiday , then when it stops and you have to reset the time, date AND second time zone each time which is a pain. While the price is not super expensive , let’s be honest , Miyota movements don’t cost much so $1000 for a watch that probably costs $100 -$200 to produce is not exactly a “ steal” . Lastly the name on the clasp looks terrible , I like the logo but the name should only be on the box and the papers . Having the name anywhere on the watch fully spelled out reminds me of “ fashion watches”. I’ll be selling my 1995 Rolex Explorer 2 Polar soon; I find I use my IPhone with all the time zones more when I travel and find it absurd to pay $1000 to service it . I d rather buy a no date watch so when it stops I just have to wind , set the time and it’s ready to go. For everything else I have my IPhone . They did a good job on the design though , I’ll give them that . What’s the weight of the watch ? That’s an important detail not mentioned anywhere , it’s super important for everyday wear .
Looks really nice, but don't like that with that movement, you can't change the date without moving the jumping hour hand twice around to advance it 1 day. Seems like it would be tedious if you need to advance it many days. With the NH34, moving the crown one direction advances the date, while moving it in the other direction moves the GMT hand. Granted, I do like the travelers with jumping hour hand better than the caller GMT.
Yes I understand what you are saying. My Tag Heuer GMT is a callers GMT and I love it. I do like that the travelers GMT doesnt disrupt the minutes or seconds.
No. Two completely different companies. Jack mason is named after owner's son and is an American company. I believe MM is a Singapore company with an American name.
There are a lot of miyota movements of all price range. Some movements can be had for cheap. This movement was just invented and released. It hasn't been in any watches of the past. Plus you have to consider componenets. Like sapphire crystals and all of those other things that bring cost up. Plus assembly in the USA is not cheap in comparison to out of the USA. By the way, which watch and migota movement did you have for $50?
Yes. They are moving in a completely different direction. They don't want to be considered a mall brand. Something you buy on a whim. They want to be a enthusiast watch brand. More upscale and sought after. They are definitely doing just that. They don't want to be another MVMT or Vincero.
Obtained 3 new Alpina true GMT for $375US each in 2018. They have a module added to the date wheel train to make the jump hour hand independent. The date changes with the GMT hand, which is good for pilots and ships officers. They are big at 44mm and are Swiss Made. Really good looking watch and nice size.

I 💯 agree with you. Great Watches
how do you like the magnolia?
@@greenrush4313 love the green colorway. If I didn't have the new 2024 Green Oris Aquis already, I would have bought it.
Scored a Zelos Mako GMT Frost with the Miyota 9075 for $529. Ceramic Bezel insert, Sapphire, 300M WR rating. Puts Jack Mason's pricing to shame.
Great price. Taste is subjective. As long as one likes the Zelos Mako design it's a score.

@@larrydalton2205 most companies have a hard time getting the cases thin enough. Jack Mason did a pretty good job.

@@joshsher6327 so it has 23 hours 59 minutes and 52.1 seconds? OR 24 hours 7.9 seconds? Close enough 😂
