But you enjoy going cuz it's like a live taping of Jerry Springer.
Halloween 6 is now considered a cult classic among fans. I felt Paul Rudd’s performance was accurate as a disturbed young adult who didn’t developed mentally after his encounter with a killer. I definitely prefer the Producer’s Cut because of the John Carpenter like score, more focus on suspense than gore, coherent plot, better editing and pacing (hate the flashy mtv cuts in the TC), more Donald Pleasence, and the ending gives more closure to the Thorn trilogy than the theatrical cut
The handling of Jamie’s character just ruins the entire movie for me. Was just to brutal and none of the new characters measured up imo. Second biggest problem was the send off for Dr. Loomis. The P-Cut ending was horrible. Could’ve at least had Loomis finish off Wynn. Yeah the atmosphere good, kills brutal, and Michael finally looks scary again but the cons far outweigh the pros for me.

Something about Michael in this that always gets under my skin. He’s very angry for some reason. He is also completely devoid of pity in this one. I don’t even consider Rob Zombies version of Michael as authentic because it departs completely from what the character is all about. He turned Michael into a pathetic hobo with Mommy issues. Which is basically Jason if you think about it. Michael in part 6 is an unstoppable, terrifying force of nature.
20:39 I actually really like that he kills all the cult leaders. It helps retain the ambiguous, mysterious nature of Michael while reinforcing that he's an uncontrollable, terrifying force of nature. Great review though, loved this video.
I completely forgot about this part of the film, as I usually watch the Producer’s Cut. I must say that leaving that scene in, really helps offset a lot of my major complaints with the cult/control angle. Almost as if it was a ‘placebo effect’ and Michael was killing in spite of them, not because of them. Good stuff.
YESS, Halloween 6 was never as bad as people said it was. It captures the most "90s" aura of the franchise with the grunge guitar riffs added to the scores as well as going back to blue color tints for each scene. The kills are all solid with each location carrying a fantastic gloomy atmosphere. Definitely in the upper half of the series.

People need to stop being so pretentious when it comes to discussing or rating these movies. At the end of the day we’re talking about slasher films and this one delivers. I’m loving the 90s Halloween atmosphere and Michael is legit scary in this one.
I love Halloween 6, one of my favorites in the series. Like you, I’m talking about the theatrical cut. This movie had one of the most brutal Michael’s in the series and the second best mask hands down after the original. I also love the cinematography in this one, it really made the movie for me. Regarding the Thorne stuff i look at the great surgery scene were Michael goes bananas on them as he puts an end to Thorne cult. They thought they could control and contain Michael Myers. That scene just shows he can’t be controlled or stopped and I’m glad they added that in this cut. Didn’t like the ending and I’m kinda wondering now where they were going to go with that, unfortunately now we will never know.
There are some good moments in this film that mirror the scary moments from the original. There are a good bit of shots of Michael just standing, stalking. Seriously, the shots in this film where you can just see the silhouette of Michael in the background as so eerie.
It’s tough because I do like aspects of it and it’s a guilty pleasure but I’m still very aware it’s a bad movie and if that was the Fnaf movie I would have been very disappointed but as a banana splits TV movie it’s dumb fun and I wouldn’t mind a sequel
@@veggietablz in the first one he was stabbed in one eye and the 2nd he was shot in both of them. Also him and Loomis survived the explosion at the end of 2. I guess maybe his Thorn curse let's him live
I enjoy both versions but I prefer the theatrical cut because it has a more intense climax, there’s no mention of Michael being the father of Jamie’s baby, and there’s no confirmation of the cult giving Michael the curse. In the producer’s cut Wynn tells Loomis that he gave Michael the “gift of Thorn,” whereas in the theatrical cut he just says that Michael is “evil. Pure, uncorrupted, ancient.” To me that makes it sound like Wynn discovered that Michael was evil instead of being the reason why he became evil. The theatrical cut doesn’t explain that much, but the ending of the producer’s cut is pretty lame and has plot holes. What’s the point in transferring the curse to Danny when Michael already killed his family a few hours earlier? The point of the curse is that it makes you kill your family, but it makes no sense to choose a kid whose family is already dead. Overall I prefer the theatrical cut for its intensity and the more ambiguous nature of Michael’s evil.
Watching this I didn't think it was as bad as I remember but I did always haye the cult part of it and still do, looking forward to Halloween H20!! When I was growing up this was the first Halloween movie I seen and loved it at the time haven't seen it in ages so excited to see your review my man! Another great review love it 👌🏻
Great review! I actually love both versions of this movie. I remember waiting, which seemed like forever for this movie to come out after the horrible H5. I still have my Halloween 6 movie ticket! Although the theatrical cut is confusing, the gore is awesome! H6 the producers cut makes a lot more sense, but it was definitely a strange choice to have Michael father Jamie's baby. All in all, I think both versions are great in their own special way.
Halloween 6 has always been a favorite. The score, kills,Michael and the overall atmosphere are top notch .The story is a mess especially the theatrical version so for story sake the producers cut is better. The opening chase still gets me hype everytime.
14:19 Michael... we know you're eating chips on the job. We can hear the crunching when you chew. You know you cant eat while killing people, Michael. You know better :(
Imo no. Wish they had just stuck with Jamie as the main character cause she was easily the best besides Loomis in this “Thorn trilogy” The way she was treated was just outright insulting and depressing. A final showdown between her and Michael would’ve been so epic and just felt like the natural way to go. The way Loomis’ story was concluded didn’t help either. Why do people favor the P-Cut again? The one where Michael rapes his long suffering niece and they idiotically set Loomis up for a sequel? Sorry. Great review but the great atmosphere and violent kills just weren’t enough for me to look past the numerous atrocities of both versions.
Saw the movie in the theater. When Paul Rudd is trying to break down the door in the asylum and Michael walks out into the hallway and stares him down. Scary shit.
This one's probably my favorite Halloween movie in the series. Great mask, score and Halloween atmosphere. Also, the guy that Michael killed at 20:54 is not the actor who played Michael Myers in Halloween 4 it's actually A. Michael Lerner's (The actor who played Michael in the Theatrical Cut's third act and in some of the reshoots) Dad Fred Lerner. The actor who played Michael in Halloween 4 were Tom Morga (Who played Michael with the bandages) and George P Wilber. George did come back to play Michael in both versions of Halloween 6. The green ooze was from those jars that had some green liquid in them and likely Tommy put some of that in those needles.
Been my favorite Halloween right up there with 1 and 2 since I was 12, I'm now 42 and feel the same ! I'm wearing a Halloween 6 hat right now !! Michael is savage and the whole atmosphere is eerie and very Halloween. Even Donald Pleasance thought part 6 was the best one since the OG but the studio came in and the movie got a bit fkd up but it's still an amazing installment. It definitely has a hardcore cult fan base . Mike and Dave from we watched a movie love it as well and so do a lot of my friends both in the Halloween community online and in the real world. Michael killing 20 doctors and nurses in strobe lights with a 2 foot machete was dope as hell and the way he kills the new Jamie was savage! And it had some very suspenseful scenes throughout. I'm glad you enjoyed it more then when you were a kid, cheers !!
Donald Pleasance kissed a lot of ass towards the end of his life, because he knew that the people who made 6 didn't want him around...He was basically BEGGING to keep his job(assuming he had lived). It was very sad to see.
For the longest when I was younger i thought this was a fever dream of mine. Till I saw it years later. But the Thorn story line was always dumb to me I never liked it and was glad that it was retconned later on. The only reason I enjoy this is cause of Paul Rudd. I mean it had some good scenes don't get me wrong but other then that its wasn't very good
this movie is a total guilty pleasure for me gotta say. everytime I watch it I prepare myself for a slog but always end up enjoying it a lot more than I probably should.
I love Halloween 6, it's one of my favourites of the series. I never got all the hate it got. I loved how Paul Rudd played Tommy Doyle as an adult. His whole creepy obsession with Michael Myers and the thorn curse was a great touch. It did suck that Danielle Harris didn't continue as Jamie. But other than that I think the movie was awesome. The kills are some of the best in the series upto that point. I have only seen the theatrical cut. I want to see the producers cut but have never been able to get hold of a decent copy. I know it has officially been released as part of collection but I've never been able to get hold of it.
I liked this movie a lot in CERTAIN AREAS- most notably Michael is a force of nature and is lit well. The cinematography was badass - the contrasting darks and reds in the finale and overall, I like the ending sequences even tho the very end didn't make much sense. I HATE the Jamie subplot, so gross and weird. I liked the P-Cut ending if they were gonna go the Celtic rune/ pagan route. Seems dumb to be stopped by stones but nothing else worked, might as well double down on the supernatural.
Thanks to you and your comedy, I have started watching all of the Halloween movies. I love all your videos but these really show your personality :) REDDDDD LIIIIIIIGHTTT
In terms of continuity, having that old lady be the one babysitting Michael doesn't make sense if you hear what Judith Meyers says at the beginning if the original. She clearly says, "Michael is around here somewhere." Which mean she couldn't have been babysitting.
This is one of my guilty pleasure entries in the series. The story is terrible but there are elements of the movie that are really creepy. Plus, I always found Michael absolutely brutal and terrifying in this entry. 100% agree the mask is one of the best and significantly adds to his aura of menace. Awesome review!
Not to fat shame Michael but idk his body type is way too podgey and the walking motion is just straight up goofy like he's about to be like "Slaaaaay queen" at 17:24
Just watched it again tonight. It's a beautiful-looking film and some of the performances aren't bad. There are plot holes all over the place, but it holds your attention. It's not a great movie, but it's a fun one and definitely not the runt of the Halloween litter.
Halloween 6 is a guilty pleasure for me. I do prefer the theatrical cut over the producers cut because I hate the Michael R-wording Jamie sub plot and the kills are much better in the theatrical cut too.

It’s tough because I do like aspects of it and it’s a guilty pleasure but I’m still very aware it’s a bad movie and if that was the Fnaf movie I would have been very disappointed but as a banana splits TV movie it’s dumb fun and I wouldn’t mind a sequel
@@3CFilms I could not agree more
Paul Rudd in this movie reminds me of that dude in wedding crashers who tied up Vince Vaughn especially when he walks away with that baby lol.
YESSSSS!!!!
Thank you for this series!
I love this movie so much, it's an underrated gem and so misunderstood.
wasn't michael's eyes pushed in by someones fingers, how does he still see
Continuity error
@@ihatesxorch1133 o
I think he was actually shot but boy somehow recovered
@@3CFilms i want what he's taking
@@veggietablz in the first one he was stabbed in one eye and the 2nd he was shot in both of them. Also him and Loomis survived the explosion at the end of 2. I guess maybe his Thorn curse let's him live
Chris your the best, all these reviews just made my work day quicker. Long time listener and chucky boy fan!
Definitely prefer the theatrical cut by miles over the producer cut
Me to chris remember me him miss the part that’s my problem also best video from the whole series
23:52 that sea bear comparison with micheal 😂😂😭
That was a great movie review from you. I actually liked both versions of this film, but I loved the enhanced music score used in the Producer's Cut.
Extreme 😆. Wonder if there's gonna be thorn easter egg in any new movies.
I love your content. Keep the good work dude!
the amount of passion chris puts in his videos always gets a comment and thumbs up from me
"id bet so hard against the dude" bahahahah
14:19 Michael... we know you're eating chips on the job. We can hear the crunching when you chew. You know you cant eat while killing people, Michael. You know better :(
Imo no. Wish they had just stuck with Jamie as the main character cause she was easily the best besides Loomis in this “Thorn trilogy”
The way she was treated was just outright insulting and depressing.
Scary shit.
Are u gonna review all the Scream movies before Scream (2022) in January?
Fun review! I always enjoyed this and part 4 of that trilogy.
I love that the “red lights” part of the hospital chase uses guitar riffs straight from Judas Priest’s Painkiller.
This was not a bad movie. The cult thing is just sick. But if you wanna talk about the WORST Halloween movie was H20
😂😂😂😂😭Chis is honestly the funniest and one of the most hardworking reviewers. The man was on 200k followers and look now 🌡️🌡️🌡️🌡️🌡️luv the boi
Chris I really enjoy these videos of you going through the series, they are really fun and hope you do more and maybe finish the Child's Play series
Bro I love this series you are doing, also because Michael is my fav horror icon. Anyway, keep up the good work
For the longest when I was younger i thought this was a fever dream of mine.
Man only 3c films and dead meat can make me appreciate movies I think are bad this channel is so underrated 3c deserves a couple mil tbh 💯
Still ONE of my favorite HALLOWEEN movies. I really enjoy KARA, and LOOMIS. This also was ONE of the most aesthetic films of the Franchise.
Love this channel so much great work Chris
Next up on 3C Films:
• Halloween H20
• Halloween: Resurrection
• Halloween (2007)
• Halloween 2 (2009)
• Halloween (2018)
And then finally:
• Halloween Kills
I liked this movie a lot in CERTAIN AREAS- most notably Michael is a force of nature and is lit well. The cinematography was badass - the contrasting darks and reds in the finale and overall, I like the ending sequences even tho the very end didn't make much sense.
I HATE the Jamie subplot, so gross and weird. I liked the P-Cut ending if they were gonna go the Celtic rune/ pagan route. Seems dumb to be stopped by stones but nothing else worked, might as well double down on the supernatural.
Not gonna lie your my favorite youtuber. Thanks for all the awesome content
I really can’t wait to see Chris’s reaction to the red lighting in The Batman 😂
I can’t wait for the rest of this series! These videos are great for nostalgia.
Not to fat shame Michael but idk his body type is way too podgey and the walking motion is just straight up goofy like he's about to be like "Slaaaaay queen" at 17:24
That into was so lit Chris🔥🔥🔥😂😂
12:22 It was the sister retcon in Halloween II that started it off. The family, curse and cult stuff just made things worse.
This video wasn’t in my notifications but i have notifs on🤨
Yeah RUclips is being weird!
I just wanna say that I love Halloween 6 and the Thorn storyline 🎃
Glad someone does!
