I have this exact same bike and so far I am loving it! Definitely does a great job blending performance with comfort. I agree the storage is a bit odd, but it works well enough. I was able to fit a CO2/CO2 breaker, plug kit and tire lever in the supplied sleeve. I guess I would rather have it than not, so it was a plus for me.
I’m waiting for my size in the 105 Di2 model. This bike looks amazing. I’m fortunate enough to live in So Cal and was able to test ride at the Canyon shop in Carlsbad
Thanks for the review it was really helpful. I was going to get the Endurace, but the top tube storage looks awful - the hatch looks like the flap off a TV remote. Hopefully Canyon will do a version without the top storage.
Great review, and even better web page (I have spent far too much time on there). When comparing the Endurace SL (XS) to the Domane SL6 Gen 4 in 52/54 the stack/reach ratio is higher on the Trek, yet the "rider feel/position" graph always puts the endurace more relaxed. How is this calculated as everything i read is the endurace is a more raceier endurance geometry than some especially the Domane.
Glad you enjoy the site! From what I'm seeing it lists the Endurace as more aggressive: 99spokes.com/compare?bikes=canyon-endurace-cf-sl-8-disc-2023%2Ctrek-domane-sl-6-gen-4-2024
Its because you compared to the 2023 endurace geometry. With the newer enduraces you have more relaxed geometry and actually slightly better than domane but I think it is small differences
6:12 , lol check out the duck behind the presenter :D Might make you miss the fact that if the bike doesn't fit perfctly you're screwed because u can't change the stem!
@@99spokes If I was trying to decrypt the duck behavior, I'd think it's showing it's distaste for new Endurace by showing it's ass :D And I would agree, it's most certainly caused by addition of the horrible top tube storage!
I’ve ordered this bike (except in space blue colour and Shimano Ultegra Di2) to replace my 7yo Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 8. My bike fitter confirmed the size. I’m not convinced about that storage solution either but I’ve ordered the correct Canyon tools to go with it. Its a more relaxed geometry than my Ultimate but that has 25mm of spacers under the stem so I could slam the stem on the Endurace to get same stack height. I hope it doesn’t feel too relaxed as I do race from time to time. Think I’ll be switching in 28mm tyres - 30/32mm is a bit wide for speed. Weird thing about Canyon pricing here in Australia is that the exact same spec Ultimate CF SLX 8 $10k in their range with Ultegra Di2 and DT Swiss 1400 wheels comes in AU$2,000 higher than the Endurace CF SLX 8 Aero $8k.
Hey, I like your website, nice job. If you're going to review bikes, please talk about what kinds of riders each bike would be good for. For example, this Endurace is an "endurance" bike, but it's skewed heavily towards a more race or lightweight build. Therefore, this would be good for a road rider who doesn't ride much (less than 125 miles a week). A more advanced rider, or someone who is riding say +200 miles a week would break this thing down MUCH quicker as it's durability is lower. I think these kinds of details help people understand if a bike suits there needs better than spec-reading.
Glad you like the site! I’m guessing you stopped watching the video before 9:00 where we share who we recommend the bike for. I’m not sure what you mean by “advanced riders” not liking the bike, but you’re right in that it’s on the racier end of the endurance bike spectrum
I don’t think one should translate ”endurance” bike as longevity of the bikes build/quality, rather how long you would be able to ride in one go without getting a sore as or lower back problem
Great review. It is a nice bike and a great value but for a person who is 5'5" I would need an XS and compared to a small Giant Defy and Trek Domane. The stack is 20-26 mm lower and 7-10 mm longer respectively than the Defy and Domane. Although the Endurace is a great value, IMO the Giant Defy is the leader at this point in endurance bikes. I am planning on a getting a Defy Advanced SL frame and moving the components from my Domane over to it. See if you can do a review on the new Defy, I would love to see what you think about it.
Thank you! Yes, the Endurace definitely leans on the racket side of the endurance bike category, which can be a pro or con depending on what you’re after
Defy is much better. This one has super strange geo, for size XS 540mm top tube is ridicoulous. Also stack is too high 548mm for XS. And 2XS size is nogo, because of 650B wheels.
Thanks for the review. As you said 38 mm tyres would be the limit, does it mean the frame is able to accomodate pressured tyres around 39-40 mm (that is the real width for 38 mm tubeless tyres with pressure 3-4 bars)?
Hello. I have one question, namely, are there any "spots", "stains" from layers of carbon visible on your bike? Or is it nicely painted? Thank you and best regards.
The top tube storage is a dealbreaker for me, at the moment it looks like Giant will be taking my money. A real shame as I was waiting for the Endurace update.
Storage box is a total nogo. Also frame geo is ridicoulous, 540mm top tube for size XS??? New Defy is so much better. But the basic CF modell, which is only 1 year old, is much better value, with better geo, and frame weight is same only 990gramms. Tour Mag tested it, and got super values. In the US is on sale, 2600 bucks with 105 DI2 is best value. In the EU Canyon doesn't sell it anymore.

Right on! I saw with the new Grail they put the storage in the downtube, which I'd prefer, and then just add a frame bag to the top if needed
Will it endure some rain? Or doesn't the cover rattle?
Sick video dude, I am convinced this is the bike for me. I can’t wait to order one
Nice, I’m sure you’ll dig it!!
For me everything is clear. No more questions. Thanks
Good! Glad it was helpful 🤙

Beautiful videography of the yellow Aspen leaves on the black asphalt!
Thank you!!

Yeah I’d honestly prefer that too

Great review! What are your measurements, please?
Cheers
Glad you liked it! I'm 6'1" (185 cm).
The stack / reach ratio of the domane is larger as per your screenshot
Thank you! What size was your frame? Does it seem like the top tube storage would be larger in larger frames?
It’s a size large, and no, I doubt it. It’s more a matter of tubing diameter, which doesn’t change much if any from size to size
Cool, thank you! Please do a comparison of the new Grail and Endurace if you can!
I never-ever thought I would see JLK in Lycra on a road bike!!! 😂
Right?! 😂😂 I was joking with the other guys at 99 Spokes that I question my life decisions every time I pull in that Lycra 😂

@@99spokes No, this new Endurace has higher stack, than the new Defy. So not sporty.
I would like to see a AXS range test!
That’d definitely be interesting!
Thanks for the review. As you said 38 mm tyres would be the limit, does it mean the frame is able to accomodate pressured tyres around 39-40 mm (that is the real width for 38 mm tubeless tyres with pressure 3-4 bars)?
Yes, I’d imagine so, but again the widest tire I tested on the bike was a 35 mm (so probably ~38mm inflated), so I can’t say for sure
What size did you test?
We were on a large
I have the Endurace AL 8 and it’ll easily take Fincci 38mm even Canyon says up to a 35mm tire.
That’s what it seemed like to me too!
How tall are you and what size did you go for?
I'm 6'1" (185 cm) and tested a large
Can you fit two bottle holders on the frame?
Yep! Can’t say for sure on the smaller frames (it comes all the way in 3XS) but you could easily fit two full size bottles in my large
Where can i buy this multi tool you mention @2:41?
Here you go: www.canyon.com/en-us/bikepacking-and-bikebags/integrated-tool-bags/canyon-load-tool-pack/10012765.html
It's actually spec'd with 30F 32R Continental tires.
Good catch, thanks!
Hello. I have one question, namely, are there any "spots", "stains" from layers of carbon visible on your bike? Or is it nicely painted?

Great question! The bike’s finish was beautiful, not spots or smudges 👌
The top tube storage is a dealbreaker for me, at the moment it looks like Giant will be taking my money. A real shame as I was waiting for the Endurace update.
same! might have to go with the ultimate. That is so ugly and useless. If I'm bringing anything with me its going in my pack
But giant for the price, no power metter and tubeless rims, its dealbreaker

Why is 540mm top tube ridiculous? You have the choice...
BMC Roadmachine height 166-174cm -> size 51 - top tube 532mm reach 382
Trek Domane height 168-174cm -> size 54 - top tube 542mm reach 374
Canyon Endurace height 168-171cm -> XS - top tube 540mm reach 370
The highest stack to reach racio is domane, not canyon.
Good catch! I may have been comparing different frame sizes when riding the script, as they’re pretty dang similar
How is this a review wtf do proper review not what canyon say
Sorry it wasn’t helpful for you 🤙
How does it ride.
