I love my Boundary. Have the 2x and performs on the road more than decent as well. I built a second wheel set. So for a bit more you have two bikes for the price of one. Also think the stated width is 45, but I think they may take a 50 or even a 53. I’m currently on 40s with plenty of clearance for my gravel wheels and 32 for road.

Several times the appearance of the "subscribe" tag is annoying, it distracts me, I haven't finished the video I was interested in... When you understand that it's what it is interesting that we subscribe, there is no point in spoiling your videos with these calls to subscribe, it may have the opposite effect. THANKS.

I watch politics, music, and cycling videos on RUclips. I've never thought to enter a comment. I do now for the first time. Congratulations. The internet and RUclips is rife with duplicates. This is more than interesting and well researched and scripted; it is, insofar as I know, a truly singular exposition of bikes in the history of the Tour. One addition I would make: I think there have been some number of "winning bikes" that were re-decaled to carry a sponsor's name but were built by others. Craig Calfee built LeMond's first winning carbon frame. (John Slawta of Land Shark built Andy Hampsten's re-decaled, Giro "winning" frame.) (And congratulations to you again for stating bikes don't win; riders do. Having created the advertising for Campagnolo, Continental, Basso, et al, it unfailingly galls me to see ads that speak of products winning.)

No matter how good the function may be - the eye rides along and this thing is even more ugly than a motor on your bottom bracket.

So all Cues have the same cable pull? Which means that i can use a U6000 or a U8000 on a U4000 shifter?

I have a Cervelo Caledonia. Cervelo has the recipe right here in that it's a light, fast, ROAD bike with less aggressive geometry.

Bike prices are insane! The manufacturers must be making massive amounts of $$$. These are not affordable. People are getting ripped off. There is no reasons the should cost more than a few hundred dollats.

The golden age for me was when Tour bikes resembled those ordinary club riders owned. The difference between an off the peg Reynolds, Tange or Columbus steel tubed bike, and one made for professionals was minimal. It was a cheap sport for working people.

Cues seems like a step back. Heavier and more slow in shifting, and I've never wished for increased durability or more accurate shifting from Hyperglide, both of which are quite good as it is.

I think the Salsa Timberjack XT is worth a mention. Super versatile and well spec'd with geometry probably most comparable to the Trek Roscoe and usually at $2,000 if not on sale for less.

When I bought my first mtb in 1990 I had to keep my Mongoose Californian for jumps and tricks. Fast forward to today- I take all of my full squish mtbs from everything like trails to DH lift assist parks to DJ parks and skateparks. Today’s mtbs are so good. Nice review. WAY too pricey for a hardtail. Frame only though is priced right. Surprised they didn’t at least go mullet even if not full 27.5.

My 10 speed custom built Renolds 531 road bike (by Mike Coward of Emperor Sport, South London) weighed 16lb in 1980. So the Lemond carbon bike was no lighter. Many think that the combination of high Young's modulus and tensile strength of alloy steel is still the best all around material.

Mark’s bike uses 12s crankset. And 11s Shimano chainrings (small and big) are not compatible with 12s cranks

If Remco switched to Vittoria corsa pro or GP5000 he might have a real chance :D, I had those cotton 26mm on my SL7 and they are shit. I am using Pirelli P-zero all seasons in 30mm and Vittoria corsa pro in 30mm and those are both faster, better handling and more comfortable.

I enjoyed this, but it's dumb to exclude Lance and act like those were "dark times." Those times were some of the tour's most popular in the eyes of the lay public, and it's dumb AF that you didn't talk about the bikes.
