To anyone watching this, look directly on the other side of the lever he's talking about @1:12. There are TWO of these levers that are either pushed in for operation or pulled out to maneuver the lawnmower when transporting or just moving. TWO, it has TWO HYDROSTATIC TRANSMISSIONS! The "L" shaped "lever" you see directly across from what he engages is the other side's "lever"! Edited to point out that you should have at least read the operators manual. It clearly states the procedure to move the mower when not powered in there. And yes, it shows you that there are TWO, once again, one for each transaxle.
Thanks guy, I just went through hell and my wife and I hand pushed my new mower up a hill and into the garage. It is now 12:40 am and I'm 77 yo. No one told me about this at Lowes but in the morning I will let someone know. Thanks Jim
Good to know about this switch. I thought it was the releases on both axles. They guy at the store had no idea how to move it so they brought it on a pallet to load it on a trailer. I gassed it up at home and rode it off but good to know how to put it in neutral.
Well I was out using mine in some tall brush in what you might call the back 40 of unused property. It stopped while I was using after driving over a hump and would not move. Runs fine, cutters engaged and runs fine, but it would not move at all. After watching this I checked and could not find this or any other lever under there. But when I lifted the seat to look around I could clearly see a lose "belt" through a slot in the body. Now I just have to look up how to get to the drive belt. 😵💫 I should say mine has a different motor on it as the original owner ran it without oil and it was replaced with a different brand, not sure if its a B&S or what but don't think that has anything to do with this issue.
I have a small cutting deck than 52 and it will not go forward or backwards. Is the release bar in the same place on smaller cuts or will it be in the same place

Tyvm lol I was so upset 😂😂
That's why you need to read the FN instructions instead of thinking that you know what you are doing and are actually screwing things up.
