P0745 - Nissan Versa (2007-2012), Hard Shifting Troubleshoot and Fix (Automatic Transmission)

  • This issue is pretty common for automatic transmission Nissans between about 2000-2015 if you get a hard "ka chunk"/ hard shift between gears, usually hardest between roughly 1200-2200 rpm and the only code that comes up is a P0745, its probably this issue. P0745 is an electrical code related to the transmission solenoid, this is what shifts your gears, hence the loud shifting. You can troubleshoot this before spending the money on the part.
    I'll show you on my 2007 Nissan Versa Sedan, the engine bay of the '07-'12 sedan and hatchback should have same procedure for this particular issue.
    The part numbers are 31037-0E600 OR 31037-AN100. These parts are interchangeable, except for a bracket added to the 31037-AN100, this part supersedes the 31037-0E600 which is not made anymore. Removing the bracket allows the 31037-AN100 to drop right into any vehicle that used a 31037-0E600.

    I have a 2010 nissan rogue cvt level is good but 80% of the time when shifting from P to R or D it shifts pretty hard, any idea if a bad valve body could be the culprit? (Mounts are good)

    Hello friend, I have a similar problem, I have a 2008 Nissan Versa Hatchback with automatic transmission, when the second speed enters it knocks and the code P0745 and P0045 appears in the scanner, I saw your video and the part you replaced is supposed to have my car but it is not like that, I wanted to verify if the part was in good condition and my car did not have that part, I do not know if it is normal or not, could you help me? Good video by the way.

      While I am not familiar with the hatchback setup, it should still be there, this is a very common part between Nissans and Infinitis at least from 2003-2012 minimum (likely also Datsum). I did google a bit (try P0745, 09 Versa, a forum post shows the location, albeit a bit poorly) and I believe it is under your engine fuse box, if there is just a dangling wire instead that is a bigger problem. It may also be the shifting solenoid but I have no dealt with that on this car. Your car should definitely have this resistor though. Good luck

    Is it bad to drive the vehicle with this issue? Or is it okay to drive?

    • @brettkammer2680
      @brettkammer2680  3 года назад +2

      It is "ok" for a while, I drove it for maybe 500-1000 km before I fixed this. I recommend fix this as soon as possible as it is definitely adding additional wear to the transmission components which is a much much costlier fix, which is likely worth more than the car.

      @@brettkammer2680 The door tag should have a transmission code number. Looks like there was a manual, automatic and CVT transmission available.
      The part numbers you've listed is for a resistor and I don't think that's used on the CVT models.

    • @brettkammer2680
      @brettkammer2680  3 года назад

      If its an older G35 it is possible. Check your transmission fluid to make sure its good, easiest first step, then go after the resistor and measure it. Part number will be different but it is, apparently after a quick google, located near the driver side strut tower.
