  • After getting left on the side of the road, I discovered a few pin holes under the gas tank that was slowly draining all of my fuel. My brother helped me weld them shut, then I restored the exterior of the gas tank with a fresh coat of paint/primer before re-installing it and going for a ride.

Nice job. Welding and grinding on any gas tank is dangerous. You should have mentioned this plus had a fire extinguisher handy.

You will get vapor lock with all of those filters. I know because it happened to me.

Interesting. Would a fix be to just upgrade to an electronic fuel pump?

Vapor lock is caused by high temperature, not by fuel filters. Keeping all fuel filters out of the engine compartment is a good start.
