Fabulous find! I have ten Pelikan m200/205, two m400 Tortoise shell pens, one M101n grey-blue, two Pelikan Jazz, and one Twist. I enjoy all the nibs right down to the inexpensive pens. The gold nibs are exquisite, but the steel nibs are also fabulous! Pelikan is my favorite brand of fountain pen. I also participated in Pelikan’s free nib exchange program on the purchase of a new pen. Thanks for the tutorial.
@@MarcellHobbs thank you, sounds like a great collection! I’m fairly new to modern pelikans, but have been very impressed! My biggest criticism is not being able to remove the piston units on M200-M600
@@paulmchugh1430 for what I can tell the piston housing snaps into place, so you’d need to squeeze the piece to dislodge it from the barrel. I’ve seen some people manage with rubber bands, but haven’t personally had much success and fear of cracking the plastic. The M400 and M600 appear to also be designed this way 😕
@@vperalta I don’t have an M800 to try but I don’t believe so. For what I can tell the M800 is close to a #6 size nib, which is quite a bit larger than the M200’s nib. I’ve heard of people swapping M600 and M200 nibs.

@ I haven’t tried to remove a piston unit and haven’t desired anything larger than the 400. I love the weight and size in my hand.

Thanks for the demonstration. I usually remove the nib assembly to flush out the barrel. There has to be a way to remove the piston.

Is it possible to swap the nib of a m800 with a m200, or visa versa?
