"Getting cultural artifacts in order to return them to their correct cultures" My God, Rippa just threw that in a hilarious yet vomit-inducing direction that I hadn't even considered. And he's probably right. That's the treasure-hunter archetype for MODERN AUDIENCES.
Indiana Jones already did that in Temple of Doom.
It's not a new, modern archetype at all. It's a dumb, obvious, puritanical archetype.
Indy was compelling because sometimes it seemed he had to be convinced to do the right thing. He goes from stealing the icon at the very start of Raiders to returning the stones (and rescuing the kids) at the end of Temple of Doom. His character actually develops and matures through the trilogy. He doesn't start off perfect with nowhere for him to go.
An epic adventure to find the British museum & return the Elgin Marbles & Benin Bronzes to their rightful cultures. Stunning & Brave!
@@jakeviolet2195 wouldn't it be stealing from the museum's and returning the goods to Africa? Sounds like a dope hero, if that's the case. But not an exciting movie
Oh, you mean like Indiana Jones would do? How awful.
@@mrkeogh ToD was set before Raiders, you plum.
People tend to ignore the implications of her being called a “Tomb Raider”. She’s never been an Historian and Archaeologist because she’s never been about giving that stuff to museums. She’s always been using her family wealth to follow obscure myths and legends, accidentally stumbling into world ending events or secret society. She literally started as an action video character duel wielding pistols who shoots dinosaurs, the undead, and the occasional Old Gods. That should always be at the core of her character because that’s what made her rise to prominence. You can show her becoming that and her as that badass anti-hero, otherwise you aren’t doing the character any favors
Spot on.
getting a remake is similar to the jewish holocauat after rings of power. ive been with lara since she had triangle boobs ps1 but remake is a bad idea esp with old ass actress. remake lara as a young fertile woman was a good idea not some CC riding brit
Imagine how much fun you could have with a movie about that general premise? Sort of along the lines of Big Trouble in Little China which doesn't take itself seriously but is just a fun action adventure.
Literally the first cutscene we see Lara, she shoots some wolves to death, making Peta sweat.
_This!_ Exactly _this!_ Wish someone would listen!
Lara was pure awesomeness in the original games. I love that you have a wealthy, busty, and attractive heiress who could easily have become the next Paris Hilton but instead chose a life of thrill and adventure?
That's how you make a true female action star. And Jolie perfectly nailed it.
I think it's a strange parallel that Angie played the big tittied Lara when she had nice tits, and then Lara was retooled with smaller boobs and Angie cut off her tits.
Life imitating Art imitating Life?
Hollyweird is just that.
the last actress was a toothpick.
God, I still remember that opening action scene. Perfect for Croft imo. Even tho I've never played the OGs, I can tell why she's gone for ancient myths and relics over just coasting on her inheritance. It was about the thrill of it.
@@purefoldnz3070
The only real world actress to do the role justice was Angelina Jolie in her prime. Anything less than that is a joke, and therefore not Lara Croft.
@@Xbalanque84 at least look like someone that has some muscle mass.
So far the only lara croft actress that i feel was perfect was Angelina Jolie. She fit the role perfectly.
I love that first movie🤩 soundtrack & score are still kickass to this day😁
👍👍👍. Angelina Jolie is a treasure
Tomb Raider ain't got nothing on Marathon in terms of story, am I right?
@El Bearsidente I think OP meant in terms of translating the character from video game to real life, not comparing her work to others.
Honestly the original was Rhona Mitra and I'd have loved to see her play the role.
Can't wait to see her dynamic acting range of all two emotions on screen
Whose, Vikanders?
Waller Bridge will play Lara...
Two emotions are arrogance/sassy and disgust/judgement
Tomb *Raider* pretty much says everything one needs to know about Lara Croft’s mission in life. They forgot that in the new games, and nothing they do now will come close to the iconic original. I’m not bothering. It hurts less when you just don’t care.
Same with Indiana Jones and forgetting about what makes him Indiana Jones after the Last Crusade
I didn't mind the first game of the new trilogy, the others...not so much they were the same thing but reskinned.
The newer versions should be called "weeping archeologist"
exactly. new games are about a woke Karen going mountain climbing, old games were about a sassy yet sexy explorer who wasn't afraid to tease men or shoot them upfront
The new games are the best-selling games in the series.
Waller Bridge's sudden rise is inexplicable.
She wrote and stared in a TV comedy series aimed at women. Now suddenly she is supposed to be appropriate for genres she clearly can't handle.
In reality, she updated Bridget Jones Dairy for a new age.
@ keith robinson
Probably a fair point, I didn't watch it (I saw bits when it was on and I was in and out of the room).
It doesn't really take a genius to write a "my life is such a mess, lol" comedy. But equally it shouldn't be that hard to write a hero story, and she failed at that.
*shloorp*
It's not a hard concept to grasp:
A lot of men are going to watch Indiana Jones or her Tomb Raider or her Star Wars or whatever - regardless of who writes it. Women, aren't as much. So by getting someone who writes the story for women, you get a wider audience - women and the kinda loser man who still cares about tomb raider or indiana Jones or star wars.
@@beausaccount88 It's not a hard concept to grasp that people keep trying that and it keeps crashing and burning like the Hindenberg, either.
And hey, Indiana Jones only had bad movie (until now) and hasn't been run into the dirt like Star Wars (until now).
“She became a background in her own story.”
Man, I hate when that happens
Reminds me of Mad Max Fury Road

Well the dead space reboot is an anomaly, it's leftist and woke as shit but the game is still at it's core as fun as the original game and it's sequel
@@delta2372 I disagree that it's as good as the original. The Woke shit is so distracting. What's funny is because of the Woke nonsense they've arrogantly injected into it, the remake is going to be _more_ dated than the original in 15 years.
Also, Dr Kyne is unrecognisable and they've completely altered the personalities of Kendra and Hammond, making them dull, 2 dimensional versions of their originals.
Only thing I like about it over the original is Isaac speaking.

Take on Star Wars.
Too many modern writers think the catchphrase of "Write what you know" means to write their own lives. It doesn't. It means to draw from your own experiences with other people to create your own unique characters based off of them. That's where we get all these characters that are nothing but idealized reflections of the writers themselves. When you DO manage to get a character that isn't revolving around this writer-character, they are entirely based on the Hollywood influences they are surrounded with rather than based on a broad range of life experiences. You get programmed teenagers in barely-adult bodies that have come to L.A. or New York in order to achieve their dreams of being a writer, and getting overwhelmed in Hollywood politics and superficial agendas... so these writers never get the broad range of personalities necessary to create genuinely good and unique characters. You only get the same pale, washed-out reflections of the distorted mirrors Hollywood holds up and says "This Is REAL!!!"
Phoebe Waller-Bridge is simply a product of her Hollywood environment. Zero creativity, zero originality, nothing but superficially-idealized carbon copies of their own stunted egos. Welcome to "Modern Audiences Hollywood."
Squeaking lion,,, perfectly put, the amount of crap that has come out of late is disappointing to put it lightly. These “writers “ are so incompetent. Let’s hope all those superficial ideologies and there agendas are left out of our entertainment. For good
But mummy and daddy are rich.
Good take
Funnily enough, I am writing a script for a possible video about that catchphrase. I wanted it to be a critique of this mindset which has embedded itself in academia and amongst writers working now. My argument sadly relies on a lot of anecdotal evidence, but I try to make a point that empathy is necessary for a writer. Particularly those writing fiction as it inherently requires you to think of things from a different perspective.
Also, I can't stand when these "writers" say, "we wanted to take and make it our own." Imagine the balls it takes to say something like that. They want to "leave their mark" like a dog peeing on a tree.
I also find the studios lack of concern baffling. Do they honestly not see that these writers are crap? Are they not interested in making money?
The old Tomb Raider films with Jolie were class, the second dropped the ball a little but it was still a guilty pleasure.
She kicked all sorts of ass! Had the look, held her own, was a proper action adventure.
First Jolie film was great, but the sequel was sooooo bad, lol
Have you played the recent games???
Fantastic 😊
I love that PWB always makes jokes about hair and how important it is to a women while having one of the worst hair cuts possible.
The only men her haircut appeals to were born women.
I stopped carrying about anything the Hollywood does to beloved franchises.
Few years back I would be furious but now, the amount of trash that was released just burned my give a sh*t meter.
I will just play old games and watch old movies and serials, don't care anymore about anything upcoming. Well done western game/movie companies.
Same, man. I'll just sit back and watch good movies that tell good stories while Hollywood/Disney destroys itself
The alternatives now are 1) Watch/Play older stuff 2) Watch foreign stuff and 3) Support independent media or create it.
I have to agree. Ive been frustrated and duped so many times, crap movies and characters are the rule rather than the exception. M3GAN is the exception. Its just a good movie with a simple, but compelling plot, and good characters. No political agendas. If every movie was like M3GAN or Maverick, Id go to the movie a LOT more. But Im not excited about most movies any more because Im EXPECTING them to mess it up. And 90% of the time, Im right. Not a good stat.
@@ChrisS-no3ft Agreed
The 2013 reboot did something kind of cool at the end where a character throws Lara a second gun and she catches it in her other hand, and you take down the bad guy with the classic dual wielding pistols. You kind of go "Ah, so _that's_ where she starts dual wielding handguns in this continuity..."
But then in the sequel, Rise, the second gun is absent, as it is in Shadow. They put this cool reference to classic, iconic Lara in the first of the new series but then completely abandoned it moving forward. 🧐
I get the impression that that one was meant to be a restart and they'd start moving from there to the classic Lara we knew, but the higher-ups got the impression that it was a popular game BECAUSE of novice Lara and wanted to keep that, and stupid industry shenanigans have assured that we get stuck with her
The thumbnail of Phoebe Waller Bridge looking concerned while standing next to Laura Croft had me cracking!
Angelina Jolie is the perfect Lara Croft. No one else comes close.
She has such class

1 easy step to destroy a franchise... Get Phoebe Waller Bridge involved.
Solo A Star Wars Story, anyone?
PWB is like death going from door to door in the popular meme
Right, so her relatively small role in a film she didn't write was the reason it failed? As opposed to the 2 incredibly successful TV shows she's written (and starred in 1), and the incredibly successful Bond film she made script contributions to?
@@chasehedges6775 #SoloLostMoney
@@GingerPiston were those TV shows franchises? 🤔 The James bond film she was involved with failed and destroyed the franchise, hence my original statement.
I’m wondering if it’s possible that Doomcock could have been right, for a change. What if Phoebe was indeed going to star in a Disney + series as an Indiana Jones replacement? And they wrote a bunch of generic ass archeologist/adventurer scripts…
Now, what if Disney had a lucid moment and decided to cut her part way down and scrap the super expensive Disney + series?
I know, that would be uncharacteristically sane of them, but hear me out.
Isn’t it weird that she’d be working on two very similar stories at two competing streamers??
What if Amazon purchased the scripts from the now defunct Lady Indy fiasco and repurposed them to fit Lara Croft?
I’m just saying…
Could be. Doomcock has this weird way of having Alex Jones-esqe takes that turn out to be true way later on down the track when it comes to media (the RotS reshoots and Matt Smith as Young Palpatine come to mind)
this kinda makes sense.... Wouldn't be surprised.
I think Rings of Power is this with a discarded Dragon Age script
Absolutely what happened
Most people don't see how insulated and padded-down all of hollywood is

@@lordkrauser Doomcock says a thing and then years later if the thing happens for unrelated reasons, like a person just decides to retire, he'll tout it as a victory.
People need to start ignoring this guy. Every single time someone I actually watch cites Doomcock, I sigh in disgust.
They should bring back the Legend trilogy Lara! I've played every single Tomb Raider game, and those three games were the peak of the Tomb Raider franchise.
I guess a Rita Vertasky-esque(edge of tomorrow) version of Lara Croft where she’s in it for herself, raiding tombs and keeping the artifacts because she knows villains would use them if found, would be too much to ask for Hollywood these days, right?

RIP Lara Croft...
RIP Tomb Raider
With Waller-Bridge at the helm, look for them to hire Frosk to play the role of Lara Croft.
The initial script will feature a pregnant Croft getting an abortion, and then transitioning to male. In her first adventure she will enter a tomb, and run across a lost and befuddled Indiana Jones, who mistakes the now male Croft for a Nazi spy. Croft will then kill Jones in self defense, and steal his hat, bringing Kennedy's wet dream ending for Indy to it's stunning and brave conclusion.
-The End-
Indy: "It belongs in a museum!"
Lara: "Don't mansplain me!"
don't give them ideas! Rian Johnson would love this!
If you are looking for a true worst case scenario.. PWB will make Lara into a lesbian who raids the "tombs" of old ladies.
I enjoyed the new games, but every time she spoke, she was so empathetic, so considerate, so calm, so kind. This is after she straight up merked 50 people like a stone cold killer.
We need a Multiverse of Lara Croft. Just think, we could have an obese Lara Croft and a Lara Croft of color….

Donut Lara vs Donut Drake: Rise of the Cholesterol
I think that's the difference between male and female writers. Male writers tend to take themselves out of their lives to tell an interesting story....not all the time but most times (Stephen King is a guy who puts aspects of himself into his stories, for instance). Female writers tend to directly insert themselves into stories that reflect their lives...again not all female writers but a great many of them in the modern age (the really good ones don't do this at all).
Why Agatha Christie is one of the greatest writers of all time, she had some damn talent
Studies have shown men like to imagine themselves as a character in a story but women want a character that represents them. I forgot where I saw this study but I remeber thinking ahhh
Big generalization. Hollywood is a tiny bubble disconnected from the realm of publishing standards. In the real world, you've got a great many fantastic female authors. What you're describing is purely a Hollywood problem. Self-insertion is not a female writer problem. It's a bad writer problem.
98 percent of great art is made by men and always has been.
I grew up reading a lot of fantastic science fiction and fantasy stories written by women. Not intentionally, but I couldn't often find stories I liked in the YA section (😑) so I usually read the children s fiction section dry, and eventually ventured into adult fiction. I only rarely ran into writers who out themselves into their work, and I remember noticing it in those few series and wondering why the author felt it necessary to lecture me in their own book. But in general, most real life book authors don't self-insert unless writing an autobiography, because the editing and publishing process is not going to hold your hand and the average person is just going to get rejected if their book is terrible. An already published author can sometimes get away with it because they have clout from previous success and dedicated fans. But rarely do you see, from anyone, the kind of incompetent, self-centered, intensely narrow-minded self-promotion you see in Hollywood.
Many authors relate to a character or happen to like them. That's common sense, that it s much easier to write a character you understand and like. But most authors understand that good writing requires you to be able to write people who aren't you. I guess Hollywood writers missed that class.
Gozer: "Choose the form of the Destructor."
- Phoebe Waller Bridge appears.
I was surprised when the 70s Saturday morn live action series Electra Woman and Dyna Girl got a primetime miniseries reboot.
There's isn't much they won't plunder.
I fell asleep trying to watch the movie they made a few years ago, but I didn't know there was a mini series. Where do you see that?
Why does everything need to be I a universe these days? Why can't we have just one awesome movie?
Exactly I actually liked that in the first game because it was the first adventure.
It's like how they showed Young Indiana Jones in the movies stumbling through mostly luck and quick thinking, but they started on adult Indy being a competent adventurer and archaeologist
I think this type of writing partially happens because writers think things cant just be without a reason. You used to have characters act a certain way or want to do certain things just because it was fun. Now days, things have to be done because its the 'right thing' depending on whichever side of the fence you fall towards. To clarify i know its usually a good thing for things to have reason, but not everything needs one. Sometimes a person being cool can just exist without needing to delve too deeply on it. This is definitely true with Lara Croft, the instant you start delving too deep with her, you lose something fun about it imo.
Really miss classic Lara Croft
Never played the OG ones and even I miss her.
I actually like her in Fleabag. Which is probably proof of “Write what you know.”
She certainly knew about female upper middle class angst.
@@renegadedalek5528 right, which I'm sure is a real thing in that demographic, so I can't fault her for that. She's a great writer in that element, very smart and witty -- but like others here I doubt that'll play well in action movies
I'm not upper middle class, probably that's why she's effing annoying to me. So, I'm biased and I don't want her in any other famous show or movie. She should keep herself in her bubble.
So she wrote Killing Eve following Fleabag.
@@backup368 So she's in a death cult as well?
PWB will cast Lizzo as the next Lara Croft. Gonna need to upgrade those wire rigs, stuntmen.
Ah cannae do it, Bridgey! She willnae take the strain!
I thought Phoebe Waller Bridge was too busy destroying the Doctor Who franchise (what little is left). Just how many franchises can Phoebe Waller Bridge destroy?
I fear she is just getting started. 😔
All of them.
She got apprenticed under Kathleen Kennedy, the destroyer, always two there are...
I predict Dylan Mulvaney will probably be new Lara Croft.
This is how I raid tombs, wheee...!
If PWB is helming the "Tomb Raider" series, this is likely because she may NOT be getting handed the Indiana Jones torch due to the audiences flipping out when they heard she might be taking over for Indy. Disney likely scrapped those plans, so PWB probably thought, "If I can't be the next Indiana Jones, then I'm taking over Tomb Raider!"
If PWB knows that Lara Croft is basically the Female Indiana Jones, then her work will be cut out for her.
Easy way to recognize "real" Lara - If it doesn't have the Tomb Raider theme music written by Nathan McCree, it ain't the real Lara.
Easy.

Samus Aran? Giana Sisters? Jill of the Jungle? I get what you mean, but there were quite a few games with female protagonists that were popular before. Lara Croft just took over the world when the first Tomb Raider came out, and became an icon. Even non-gamers knew who Lara Croft was.

If they wanted to try a different kind of spin by adding some more comedy with Lara Croft, I think I'd much rather have someone like Guy Ritchie on a Lara Croft movie. Snatch, lock stock and two smoking barrels, sherlock holmes (etc.), all come to mind as having fun comedic moments but also so much creative action sequences. With some good writing + adding a tomb raider flavor, I could definitely see it being really interesting. But oh well we can't have nice things. I would like for this Tomb Raider series to magically proves us wrong and for it to become like a Jack Reacher type thing for Amazon, but I somehow doubt it.
Gemma Arterton as Lara Croft will always be my pick. She's got the looks (like she looks exactly like the character 🤯) kicks ass in action and plays that attitude that Lara has well and she's British... Oh, did I mention the looks??? Worth mentioning twice 😍

I definitely read that series of 20+ books PWB has written about ancient artifact adventuring, she's eminently qualified to write a Tomb Raider series. Don't worry lads PWB has got this. It could even rival Rings of Power in quality of writing.

As long as white men get owned! girl power!
I could see Lara Croft as an 'underground art dealer' that raids tombs and then sells the artifacts to earn money that can be used to upgrade her gear and skills. She could go on an adventure to raid some powerful mystical talisman that another shady organization (like Trinity) would use for domination.
But she's only interested in the money, not saving the world.
If someone had the guts to make such a game - like, I don't know, the newly independent Eidos - then it would definitely be a shot across the bow of modern AAA gaming.
Why would she need money when she has plenty of it through her family?
@@casualxxgamerxx9662 Two reasons:
- A gameplay mechanic (have to earn currency somehow)
- From a character perspective, why not? She's out to make a name for herself so getting paid while doing it is a bonus. It would fit in with the 'antiheroine' character of Croft as she isn't doing it out of love for the culture or saving history bur rather for fame and fortune.
@@crazymcgee3604 she's already filthy rich. That's like have batman work for money. It makes no sense and it doesn't make sense for anything game mechanic related either
@@casualxxgamerxx9662 Fine then, she does it for the hell of it. It works just as well from a character standpoint ('I don't need the money' versus 'I want F-U money').
If we go down this route though, there probably wouldn't be any sort of levelling mechanic...which makes more sense as I'm typing this.
@@crazymcgee3604 no, it doesn't. It goes against her character
Tomb Raider 1 back in the 90s was probably the best video game experience ever. Maybe that or the first Metal Gear Solid.
"Man, look at all these unstable Bridges."
A Lara Croft character shouldn't be to hard to write for but damm, they are trying to hard to change every character. 😕
It has to be a joke
When i hear Phoebe Waller-Bridge i can't help but think of Phoebe from Friends.
Smelly show, smelly show, how are they writing you?
Smelly show, smelly show, it's time you got cut....
im shocked that no one on this call knows the 2013 reboot was a pet project of Anita Sarkeesian, she played a crucial role in giving Crystal Dynamics directions on how the character should look and behave.
2020s is the truly darkest timeline.
My hope is in God, not this world.
@@bighand1530 👍👍. I have faith that God has a plan

Seen Eric July, he’s a comic book artist that does some pretty solid stuff
I don't think he's the artist, he writes Isom.
He has other artists and people to colour his books
Still, he made a pledge to create a product, and that product now exists in peoples hands for all to read.
The prequels wrote Laura as such because she was not yet the women portrayed in the original games. It would be nice to see her grow through the series much like Ashoka in the Clone Wars. I have low expectation but wouldn't that be something if she came back around? We will see I guess.
Failing upwards again.
Seems to the trend in Hollywood these days.
Lara croft is an iconic character and for all the faults of them I still really enjoyed the latest games. The game play was fantastic. I want larger than life characters in games. And she really was. I don't want a game for modern audiences. I want a game that is loyal to it's characters and fanbase.
I now morn for one of my favourite IP, it’s been a slow and sometimes painful death. I’ll go back and play the originals and re-read the top cow comics.
shes meant to be doing Mr & Mrs Smith series as well
those three new era tomb raider games were just phenomenal.
There's a reason why this is called Tom Raider. Because it was, originally, about this cool, rich, sexy, young adventurous English chick that just got the thrill of RAIDING tombs! But never without a heart. Often in her earlier adventures Lara realizes that whatever artifact she was after evil villains are after the same thing but not to just keep the damn thing as a private collection but to gain power &/or cause destruction upon the world. So Lara always stepped up beyond her mere adventure to be a hero, even if a reluctant one. The point of the matter is, no matter if it was the villains or Lara herself, there was never any care for the actual locations they raid & plunder, no respect or very little for the culture & historical values. Because Tomb Raider was always & only meant to be an adventure video game where you play this cool, sexy chick that does this for the fun of it & she is symbolically a mix between Indiana Jones, James Bond & even Rambo at times considering what weapons she gets hold of. Maybe it was braindead & immoral but it was FUN! It was a video game where the story & its meaning wasn't the most important thing, even if highly entertaining. It was the fact that Lara Croft was the first true & biggest female adventure character in the video game world. She was the Ripley & Sarah Connor of the video gaming world BUT still very much her own person with her own characteristics. Over time they have stripped Lara of her free & even selfish spirit. They gave her daddy issues, changed the very reasons why she's in these adventures at all. Lara is meant to be there because she enjoys it, not necessarily because she have to & certainly never right away from the very beginning. Lara was the selfish rich girl that kicks ass for fun but, having some morals, decides to stop the bad guys when she realizes that a threat beyond what she originally thought has gotten involved.
Today too many take Tomb Raider & Lara herself too seriously. She was merely meant to be this cool chick running around in ancient ruins, looking for old stuff with often supernatural powers. That was it! One can have many opinions about original Lara & Tomb Raider but if you do, don't play the oldest games &/or get involved with the stories of those times. Those now legendary games were made to entertain you & to push the video game market by simply doing all of this as a woman. That's it. The games of today may have far superior engines & graphics, for sure, but they lack the original fun. Original Lara was always meant to be over the top. Because she was a video game character! Today's Tomb Raider is pushing an agenda & a moral into it that was never the original intent when they created this in the first place. If they want a female adventurer that is forced into hardships & feels she must save the world right from the get go then come up with a new character. But, as always, these people have no imagination so they constantly steal & use old IPs. And handing over Tomb Raider to someone like "Fleebag" is yet another disaster just waiting to happen.
Where’s the wrap it up button
She was basically part Indiana Jones, Doc Savage and part John Clayton Aka Tarzan. Now she is some woke statement i guess.
Feeble Wailer-Budgie will have LC break into the British Museum to steal the Elgin Marbles and return them to Greece
i accidently sceamed out loud"waht the, THATS INDIANA JONES!!" Seriosly man, hell, its even a line in Last Crusade.
If you're going to do a Tomb Raider tv serise I think the best games to use as a blueprint would be the first time they rebooted the series with Tomb Raider Legend and Underworld. Globetrotting adventure to "plunder / reacquire” artifacts from her own culture (like that matters) Excalibur and Mjolnir to solve a mystery that’s haunted her her whole life, the disappearance of her mother. There’s your show!
Tomb Reparations
We need a Kelly Brook type, instead we get this tragedy. We don't get what we deserve, do we?
Exactly lol
But that will never happen! lol
Waller Bridge is going to be the show runner, not star in it
@@Lexmister999 She'll still get someone who looks like her to spite the "male gaze"!
Almost want to become an athletic archeologist because OG Croft..... probably why i still enjoy learning about the understated history of things.
I just read Hayley Atwell is coming soon in a Tomb Raider TV series @critical drinker! I got excited and envisioned maybe villains like Carla Gugino, Ana de Armas, Jennifer Connolley, and Emily Blunt!! Imagine the fights in ponds and lakes, under waterfalls, in thin tank tops and shorts!!!
Then I discovered it's only animated. Dang! Bummer.
Lara Croft hasn’t been the same since after 2003 when Crystal Dynamics took over. Since TR Legend she’s been a insufferable and mopey girl with parent trauma issues. I condemn the live action movies for introducing the stupid parent issues.
Killing eve was amazing! Funny and sarcastic but pretty actionpacked as well. The female antagonist was a complex and hilarious badass psychopath and probably the reason they chose her for the job.
Killing Eve was absolute shite. A man-hating, violence-glorifying, forced lesbian-pandering pile of shite.
@@mrnegative4482 Your username is perfect! The show has a 8.1 on IMDB, which has a 65%/35% male-female userbase, so at least some men seems to like it. And how can you hate Kim Bodnia? He was such a great sarcastic counterpart to Villanelle. I had a blast with the two first seasons. Arguably the series dook a steep nosedive after season 3, but Waller Bridge was long gone by then. Also, Fleabag was kind of pretty amazing as well. But hey, les gouts et les couleurs...
at this point I don't feel like Hollywood is even trying any more.
I don't think they've been trying for quite a while now
Who's the other guy you're talking to drinker? I like the cut of his jib, does he have a YT channel too?
I can imagine exactly zero scenarios where this turns out remotely good. If Amazon's purpose here is to destroy another franchise, then Waller-Bridge is the right person to have in charge, but if the purpose here is to produce something good and make money with it, total failure is what will happen.
If you're gonna insert yourself, at least make it good.
