    Great tip! This was such a helpful video, and I've subbed 😊 I'll have to try with a wipe matte coat because I do have a lot of fallout that sticks with the non-wipe matte top coats.

    If I use chrome powder, I do the no wipe matte top coat and then I just wipe it with alcohol. Then I go in and do whatever design for the chrome powder, like normal and it looks perfect. I used to apply base/foundation gel on the chrome powder before topcoat, but now I use Reinforce Gel or strengthener. But wiping the no wipe matte, with alcohol, has always worked just fine and there's not much, if any fallout. A very small amount of chrome powder goes a long way. That's they way I've been doing it for over a year now.

    Instead of a coat of matte-just buff the nail until it’s not smooth anymore and more matte before applying your design!

      Use matte top coat that you have to wipe, not the no wipe one

    • @pinkpineapplenails
      @pinkpineapplenails  8 месяцев назад +2

      Exactly how @lanoisette stated. If you use chrome-use ones that you have to wipe. Because you are wiping the inhibition layer off there isn't a sticky layer for the chrome to stick onto making the chrome stick on better to the design. 😊

    What could be the reason for my top coat melting off the chrome powder?

    • @pinkpineapplenails
      @pinkpineapplenails  6 месяцев назад

      If your top coat is pulling away from the chrome powder it might be that something is not working together. If you do prime before topcoat make sure you don't drench it with primer. Too much primer will make your top coat pull away as well. But if you are not then I'm thinking its something with the chrome that is having a chemical reaction with your top coat. Might want to try out a different top coat to see if it does the same. Hope this helps. 😊😊

    Why do you seal the chrome with primer? Just wondering. Does it help? What does it do?

    • @pinkpineapplenails
      @pinkpineapplenails  6 дней назад +1

      I seal the chrome with primer so that it doesn't chip. A lot time if you just seal it with a top coat the chrome starts to fade out. Primer just helps stop that so your chrome can last.

    So I’ve been having issues after applying the chrome and dusting off the excess, I then cure the chrome under the light. After curing it looks beautiful. BUT when I apply the top glossy coat the chrome particles get on the non chrome area and creates this shimmer effect :( how can I fix this???

    • @pinkpineapplenails
      @pinkpineapplenails  29 дней назад

      Have you tried putting base coat first before top coat? I've notice that if you go straight into top coat with chrome it will shimmer.

    • @pinkpineapplenails
      @pinkpineapplenails  7 месяцев назад +2

      I'm sorry, I don't use the primer before the chrome but after the chrome. Primer is just to help with the chrome staying on longer and not chipping/peeling off. Through trail in error I've found that putting a bit of primer on the chrome just helps the chrome last longer and not chip after a few days. Hope this helps. 😉

    • @jennifertempest397
      @jennifertempest397 11 дней назад

      I literally do exactly that. I use a no wipe matte top coat and then take my alcohol wipe and rub it. Then I paint whatever I want the chrome design to be, just like normal. I have no problems with it and it ends up looking great.

    Primer on chrome before top coat last longer?

    • @pinkpineapplenails
      @pinkpineapplenails  11 месяцев назад +2

      Using primer on top of the chrome (not on the entire nail) will help it last longer without the chrome chipping off. 😊😊 Chrome tend to chip off really easily once the top coat is apply but to prevent that using just a little bit of primer makes it last just a little bit longer. 😊

    you seal the black w non wipe top coat for 10 sec cure prior to using the chrome, right?
    cz if you know of a way to eliminate top coat from the application would be amazing. but im p sure there's no other way .. right?

    • @pinkpineapplenails
      @pinkpineapplenails  Год назад +2

      The black gel that I use is a NON-Wipe black which works really great for chrome, skipping the need to top coat the black. So all you have to do is put on the blk gel, cure 10-15 sec chrome then top coat. But I like to put a bit of primer on the chrome before I top to prevent chrome from chipping. 😉

    • @unboundbytiffany
      @unboundbytiffany 10 месяцев назад +1

      @pinkpineapplenails 10-15 sec for black seems like it'd still be undercured. :/ especially as it's black but also thicker being what seeks to be more gel paint like as well. And the thinnest regular gel polish in lighter colors requires 30sec min. For basically most brands etc. I'd be extremely worried about undercutting.:/ but love that you found a black gel paint that is non wipe! I wonder if I happen to have any gel paints that are non wipe in my arsenal. That'd be nice

    • @pinkpineapplenails
      @pinkpineapplenails  6 месяцев назад

      Nail primer should be compatible with gels or specially made for gels. I use the Ugly Duckling primer and never had issues with it. I've also used Young nail primer and they are not good for gels at all-I had issue with their primer. The ones I recommend is Ugly Duckling (professional only brand) or Apres. You can also look into Korean brands like Diami or Izemi as well.

    • @pinkpineapplenails
      @pinkpineapplenails  Месяц назад

      If your chrome is coming off after you cured and not sticking on then you may have over cured the gel. If it is chipping after you have seal the chrome then I recommend using the tiniest amount of primer on top of your chrome. This helps prevent the chrome from not chipping after you top coat the chrome.

      I use the ugly duckling primer which is good for gel and acrylic, I haven't had any issues with this brand. I would recommend using Apres primer if you can't get a hold of ugly duckling. Don't use young nails, their primer doesn't work well with gels.
