- Probably the most feel good up-beat group of the whole competition as these guys look to be singing more popular songs from back in the day..it's a good thing the public isn't voting then lol, but i think they can go pretty far as they have really good voices and i hope they sing more present songs too! B+

I'm absolutely enamored with the incredible sound and energy that Vocal Point never fails to produce! Here at BYU they are a big deal and we, the students, get many opportunities to see and hear their talents. They are a great bunch of guys and I'm hoping to see them succeed all the way to the top of the competition. Go Vocal Point!!! We love you!

I saw them back in January in Oregon at the ICCA competition. They were amazing and i absolutely loved their performance! Loved them!
These boys definitely had talent, but I feel like their appeal is about watching them as much as listening to them, which isn't a bad thing at all, it just doesn't translate into record sales as much.

So. Polished. Their bass is obscenely good. Honestly, all of this is incredible. Other than Cat's Pajamas these guys were by far the most polished of all the groups. But really the best part about them is that they seem to genuinely care for one another. I like this group a lot. I'm not Mormon, but I am jealous. :)

B+? Are you kidding? They have such great blend and can sing all sorts of music from hymns, to spirituals, to swing, to rock. Check out their Game Day thing they do for BYU's football games. Hands down the most versatile group in the competition. And I'm not even from BYU or mormon, they just blew me away so much I had to look up everything they've done.

@darkmatter83 Agreed. I've actually been really impressed with the judges this time... mostly Ben Folds of course (he's been an AMAZING judge, and very funny, too!), but the other two have been acceptable as well.
I think this is the first show where there hasn't been a judge that gets on my nerves. For that, I give it a huge THANK YOU!
One of the best two or three performances of the night (behind Delilah, and on par with Afro-Blue). High energy, good arrangement, good performance.
Better than the Yellowjackets, it'll be interesting to see how they compare to the Dartmouth Aires and the Deltones (and Soul'd Out) this upcoming Monday.
YJ and Delilah is the best on that night to be honest. Yellow Jackets clearly shine at the first episodes but then overshone by Dartmouth Aires and Vocal Point.

Here's the Mormon Woofenpoofs. I'm LDS and I grew up listening to VocalPoint, but this is one song I don't wish they did. They can do better slow songs but whatever, I guess the judges didn't want to go harsh on the Mormon boys.

Cats Pajammas were great, and should have stayed. Vocal Point is now the only reason to watch this show. You are great!
If this Sign Off show doesn't realize the real winning groups, I'm hoping GLEE is watching and will put both your groups in their show.
@celticfinatic Keith was the lead for Grace Kelly, but the 2010-2011 edition of Vocal Point (these guys) actually didn't sing that song that year. So it wouldn't have been an option - furthermore, the Yale Whiffenpoofs performed it as their signature song in the 2nd season.
Starting from 3:14 to 3:35 just made it for me lol. The beat-boxing had a swag groove to it. Made you wanna node ur head lol.

They sing songs from today's age too. I was kinda sad they didnt do grace kelly, they do a wayyy better verison then the poofs. Though I like them too. I thought they would do this or Just the way you are.

It didn't occur to me while watching the show, but I think was the only song that wasn't some kind of big, tragically emotional, Backbeats kind of song. I like them more now that I realize they had the guts to be happy when everyone else was going dark.
This group kinda reminds me of Glee's Dalton Warblers.... but Vocal Point FTW!!!!!!!!

Vocal Point was great and i absolutely loved this performance but the group Delilah is going to be hard to pass up.. my money's on them to win the whole thing. and Afro Blue, Urban Method, Yellow Jackets were good too.. I do agree that Cats Pajamas should have stayed in lieu of Kinfolk 9 but they both ha sub-par performances.

okay...mrduckbear11.... "back in the day" songs as you call them are not that bad. you'd probably be surprised how much more sound and "energy" if you want to call it cause it sounded.... bigger! idk another word for it.... today's music just doesn't really have that oomph because it's becoming more and more electronic...I like "old" music like the 80's or 70's and this song is a great song and by mormons! Makes it even better! XD
