Hi Donnie, enjoyed the chat about your English journey and what better than a bings favourite, a pipe I yet to own but is definitely on my bucket list.
Take care pal 👍😉🤝👊
Thanks for stopping by! Yes, the Bing's favorite is also a pipe smoker's favorite - I know you'd enjoy it if you were to get one! Cheers bud!
Donny,
Hey there looked like a great pairing. Hope you’re doing well well. Keep em burning..
Blessings from Gettysburg Pa….
Yeah, buddy! That old-fashioned mix has paired well with everything the last couple of weeks! Always great to see you bud! Hope all is well up there in G'burg!
Excellent chat my‘ol Donnie 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Drucquer & Sons have great EBs…Trafalgar, Merry Monk, Devil‘s Own…and King‘s Fool I‘ve tried 😋😄😉💨💨💨
Yessir - great call! I've a tin each of Merry Monk and King's Fool (along with some Father Dempsey, Squadron Leader, My Mixture 965, Nightcap et al) all just staring at me from the shelf... too many to choose from!?!?! Always a pleasure to hear from you Lester! Cheers to you sir!
Great video and nice chat my friend. I like a English blend with a whisky
Good to hear from you Jacques! I've found that I like most things with a whiskey! Cheers pal!
Hey Donnie! 👋 Great video and chat! I appreciate you doing a VR and supporting my channel. Thanks for the very kind words and wishes too. I like everything in its place and neat as well. Unfortunately, in my case, it spills over into my pipe hobby.😂 You're In!!
Saw the drawing earlier this evening - congrats on a great GAW! Love that you had so many VRs too! It's had me thinking about my pipe smoking and seeing if I do have any rituals or habits that I hadn't really thought of in the light previously!? Good stuff bud - thanks for getting us thinking!
Good Evening 😊 Yup , its a beautiful pipe 😍 Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the blends 👏🏼👏🏼 Glad you having good weather 👍🏼 Awesome VR👌🏽 Like your rituals 😉 Have a great day and enjoy your smoking moments 🌬💨💨 Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
Thank you Yusuf! The weather was too good to be true - we're back to winter weather again now. We enjoyed it while it lasted though! Always great to hear from you my friend! Blessings to you from middle TN!
Great vr for Randy, cracking pipe and chat buddy. Have a good evening.
Thanks for stopping by PiperX1X! Yep - I do love my Bing's Favorite! - it's a good'n! Cheers!
Great video filled with words of wisdom. I try to clean my pipes after each smoke after they cool down enough. Hate to pick up a nasty pipe. 💨
I'm with you Bob - don't like a nasty looking or nasty smelling pipe! Hope you are doing well this week!
Eccentric was tasty when I tried it. No worries Donnie, enjoy what you enjoy😁👍🏻
I wondered if I enjoyed it more when I first tried it because - at that time, I hadn't smoked an English blend in a while, so maybe it was just something different on my palate? As opposed to now where all I've smoked the last 6 weeks are English blends??? They are beginning to run together! Thanks for stopping by and checking in brother!
@@PipeAndAPour yeah, I think a lot of them taste similar. I’ve found the couple I like best. I’m kinda done exploring Latakia😂
@@SmokingCardboardHa! Yeah, I can see myself being ready to try something else sooner rather than later
Great vid. I love my pipe rituals but sometimes its just like you said..."I got a few min....let's grab a pipe!"
Ha! Yep, but the sad fact is that more often than not, I'll plan all day to steal away to the patio or garage at some point in the evening...only to get busy with something else, get distracted, etc... and then never make it out there to enjoy the pipe and blend that I'd been planning on all day?! Thanks for stopping by Pat!
You know i love that pipe! And that old fashioned looking guuuud!
Yeah, buddy - I know you do! Mine's just not nearly as cool as your gator skinned one, thought! The problem with this old fashioned cocktail mix is that it is both too easy to make and too easy to enjoy!!!
@@PipeAndAPour livers are overrated
@@ItsJustJerFromJersey😂
Nice chat, I’m the same way catch a pipe when I get a chance… usually in the morning with a cup of coffee. No ritual to it then I clean the pipe.
Thanks Keith - appreciate you stopping by! I wish I was more of a morning pipe guy because there is something magical about the quiet of the morning with some coffee and a pipe, but I'm usually not ready for a pipe that early and/or don't have the time... maybe it becomes a weekend thing for me!?!?!
Hey thanks for this, I just got this blend and also found I had been unsubscribed from your channel. Resubbed! Thanks again!
Oh no!? I hear that happens to some folks pretty frequently - certainly glad to have you back! Makes me wonder if I’ve been unsubbed from others?!? Have you tried this blend yet? I’d be curious to know what you think about it. It was one of my favorite new blends from last year, but didn’t do as much for me when I tried it again recently.
@@PipeAndAPour I haven't but we are doing 100 blends in 100 days so I will likely be trying it soon.
@@SmokeSnacks Whoa!?! 100 blends in 100 days... Looks like I need to get back to your channel and catch up !?! Good luck with that!
@@PipeAndAPour thank you!
Squadron Leader is my first pipe of the day, everyday 😉
Good call Travis! I enjoyed SL quite a bit and can certainly see why it is a favorite of so many - I just wanted a bit more from it! Appreciate you stopping by and watching! Cheers, and enjoy that first bowl of SL tomorrow AM!
Hiyas Donnie,
I enjoyed a relaxing (& thoughtfully prepared 😉) pipe and cup o tea with yas. Have you tried any Boswell's English blends? If not, I highly recommend "Northwoods" that venerated blend, but also "Railroad Station" actually my preferred of the two. Their ingredient lists are identical, but the % ratios are quite different; resulting in two distinct and flavorful blends that can be smoked, one after the other for two completely different but satisfying bowls. I also love Arango's "Balkan Supreme", that blend may be purchased in bulk from SmokingPipes. Happy Piping and Pouring,
Gary
Howdy Gary! No, I've not gotten into Boswell's stuff just yet - but I plan to do so at some point! However, I did just get a shipment from Watch City that I'm really anxious to dive into - all the hits - Churchwarden, Nor'easter, Persian Slipper, Glass Slipper and Ahab's Comfort! And I forgot to mention in this video that I did smoke some Arango's Balkan Supreme last week - really liked it! Thanks for all of the great insight! Cheers!
A nice array of solid blends from WC. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on them. Glad you enjoyed Arango's Balkan Supreme, it's a mainstay in my winter rotation.
My Bing’s Favorite is a pipe I pull from the rack very often. Do like Artisan’s Blend, haven’t tried Eccentric. We visited Blaum Bros. outside Galena, Illinois a few years back. They were selling Knotter Bourbon, which actually meant “not our” bourbon. They were such a young distillery that they had vodka and gin of their own, but hadn’t been able to age their own bourbon yet. Appreciate your thoughts, thanks for sharing!
Yes - exactly re: the Knotter Rye and Bourbon! I met the brothers at a tasting down here a couple of years ago and they were very open and honest about sourcing their whiskey as they worked on developing and aging their own. Their tag line was something about 'the best rye/bourbon whiskey we never distilled' or something like that!? Thanks for stopping by and for your input - both are very much appreciated!
Hey Donnie really enjoy your vids. If you’ve never tried Straus tobacco I would say you have to try the best English blend I’ve ever had. It’s Private Stock Plain. If you can’t get it then I would be happy to send you an oz to try it out. Keep up the good work
Wes from Cincinnati
Great to hear from you again Wes! And thank you for the recommendation on the Private Stock from Strauss! The only thing I've had from them is their Sleepy Hollow blend - which I thoroughly enjoyed back in the fall! I wish they had a better web presence so that we could browse their in-house blends and then place an order for a couple of different blends? May have to take you up on that offer?!
I didn't think I would like any English blend more than Shepherd's Pie, but SPC Seattle Evening was better. You should give it a try. Appreciate your videos!
Oh man, thank you for that - truly appreciated! Shepherd's Pie is still in first place for me! I haven't tried Seattle Evening though - will have to go look that one up! Thanks for that recommendation sir!
That blend sounded interesting, but I just don’t buy small batches with very rare exceptions.
I'm learning that I have to practice better self-control and resist the siren song of FOMO on all the small batches. I must admit though that I might have chased these releases based primarily on the tin art... maybe!?
Look up the word eccentric so you can learn how to pronounce it
