Three things: 1. The DC60 Lite pre-orders have started but they are currently linked to keycap GBs 2. Keycap on the test is GMK WOB. 3. The Rama Kara is now selling in the aftermarket for 260-270 USD without a dampener, hence the suggestion of considering the D60.
is the d60 lite worth it or should i get my tofu build as my first custom build, for me the tofu seems a bit pricey but comparing tofu and this i really like the sound of d60 maybe because the gasket mount. I really dk which one to get d60 lite or tofu, please advise me.
@@ziayang4388 Tofu can be a good starting point but tray mount can be sometimes inconsistent. With TOFU kits costing close to 200 it is honestly starting hard to recommend it because of other options in the market.
@@TheDredgenProject if thats the case do u think i should go for d60 lite lazurite?? for me the tofu is very expensive but the time waiting for the d60 lite lazurite is pretty time consuming.
Actually sounds great with the FR4 plate. Kinda sad that it doesn’t have that much flex. i think it is because of the way the gasket mounting is implemented. Great vid!
I was on the edge about buying the D60 since its quite expensive but I might just have to give it a go. It sounded freaking amazing and the looks are obviously on top.
Clean and great video! Agree on the FR4 plate. Thocc fan myself but the clack sounds nice too! Filing down for a better switch fit sounds like a bit of a hassle though.
Just built mine, I prefer the sound when I removed the rubber feet so that the case was flush with the deskmat. The sound is much deeper. But I don't want to risk scuffing the bottom of the case. Any ideas on how to get that thock?
Hmmm I think the D60 is a bit expensive to be a first keyboard. Better to start of with the KBD67 Lite. Some stores will likely sell it in stock so no need to buy aftermarket.
Most expensive keycap sets would have it. The HHKB layout would usually require a 7u spacebar, 1.75 right shift, split backspace and 1u bottom row modifiers (control, alt windows).
Dont forget the 1.5u backspace. A safe bet would to buy Artifact Bloom keycaps off Drop, as they are 40$, which is very budget friendly Just keep in mind they dont feel like regular pbt keycaps as they are WAY too smooth feeling lol
Bro nice vid as always! I'm using a Tofu60 O-Ring mount mod build but I really want the aesthetics of D60 WKL. Is the price difference worth it (feel and acoustics)?
Hmmmm thst is very subjective. I haven't tried the tofu o ring mount but If you can sell the Togu build you have, I think it is a good upgrade. It's still stiff os typing feel would be s little upgrade. However it is more even than a tray mount that can have hotspots. Sound will be a lot better in my opinion especially with the FR4 plate.
i haave this board. may i ask what is the difference between u attaching the standoffs, vs not.. I am so noob i thought u will screw it under the pcb turns out it should me screwed within the plate :
If you have it attached, you can change the switches without opening up the board since the pcb is fastened to the plate. However this can result to some stiffness in the board.
I have the Duang60 (cause i wanted to bluetooth but batt wouldn't fit lmao) in mine and those hsve flex cuts but it still felt stiffer than I would have liked. PC plate without case and plate foam was the softest I was able to get it. Curious how it would feel with less gaskets.
you can wait for Kara extras or seq 2, alternatively. ur argument def stands about kara aftermarket but I personally don't think Kara is a viable entry choice anymore.
Agreed. Kara looks to be a good keyboard but way overpriced. I don't see it being significantly better vs other entry boards like kbd67 lite or portico.
@@TheDredgenProject holy f...people are crazy! My whole bill was around 300, but after an extra backplate, weight and alu mounting plate. Additionally, I'm quite sure they will make an R2 for the Kara.

that moment when you didn't miss the Kara and also bought the D60 and you've still been waiting over a year for both
Oh the stabs are tuned perfectly
It's not obvious but the fr4 spacebar is a bit tight :(
The typing sound was nice with both plates, kinda wanna try the L7s too

that custom deskmat 👀

I think the pricing is not that bad since you do get full aluminum :)
speaking of kbdfans, sucks that the kbd67 lite r2 was delayed for so long. estimate now says june 25th but i know it will probably be even longer
Oh it's been delayed? R1 was right on time. I didn't join r2 so I didn't know.

Is there a control key on the keyboard
You can program it and change it!
Where would i get a brass plate for this keyboard?
You probably need a custom? Not sure if kbdfans sells one.
I was just thinking of getting the D65 and still on the fence on getting the FR4 vs the polycarb or go with the brass plate. Ugh decisions.
