Greg The Eagle Nightwish started with being a folk / power metal band with Angels Fall First. Oceanborn and especially Wishmaster are heavily influenced by Power metal songs. Songs like Wishmaster, Crownless, Stargazers, Wanderlust are power metal songs. They artistically moved away from power metal genre to symphonic metal since Century Child and continues the style until now. You are a big fan of Nightwish right? You should have known better. Just saying. Most Nightwish songs nowadays are mid-tempo song. I just hope Nightwish return to this power metal songs with less orchestra and more band oriented. Just like the glorious days of Oceanborn and Wishmaster.

Floors voice and stage presence is mesmerizing! This line up is pure perfection accompanied by a light show that made me feel like I'm watching the Northern Lights. So magical. To witness that show in person must have been an epic experience.

Tarja sang the original song, and nothing will truly compare to that, I know. However, Tarja will not be coming back to Nightwish, and Floor sang the song incredibly well.

Floor sings it just in another way because she is not trained operatically enough to perform this song in the same manner as Tarja, (my opinion is based on the knowledge from my own classical singing experience, which I practise)

Yeah, but it's played in a lower tone mainly because Emppu (and Marco) doesn't want to change his guitar during the gigs.
They tried it on the last album during the recordings but it did not fit the songs as they said. She was not "diminished".
tukkerotheplayer Emppu has a Floyd Rose System its not possible to change the tuning fast enough even for the best Guitar Tech. Emppu uses three guitars one for warming up one as a back up and one for the Stage if he would Play the old Songs im e standart they would Need 6 guitars. I am sure he owns enough guitars but it is hard to Carry the guitars Arround the world.

I never said she doesn't own this song. It's her song, written for her vocal range. I just said that Floor nailed it on her part!
Tarja was lacking vocal range. That's what I realise now. I listen to old Nightwish albums a lot, but it's more due to nostalgia than missing Tarja.
After a while all her songs start to sound similar with high pitched soprano voice. Sure that's what got me into Nightwish at first, Symphonic Metal, but now, ever since Floor came in, I don't miss Tarja at all.
In fact I feel Floor is best singer Nightwish had, combining both Tarja/Annette worlds. She has vocal range to cover Tarja (maybe not on par with Tarja) and Annette songs. Oh and considering that Floor is pregnant, she nailed this song (Stargazers) here. ;]

But Floor is as good as Tarja in the operatic range (although with a lighter color voice), but can do much more beside that (belting, mixed voice, distortion, growling, etc. etc. ) things that Tarja can not do...

seba torres yo sigo a todas las de nightwish y me gustan todas por igual y claro que se llevan bien y es genial eso, encuentro qe las 3 han sido geniales incluyendo a anette que fue bastante odiada siendo que no hacia nada malo solo su voz no era tipo metal pero nightwish nunca a sido metal fuerte asi que encuentro que las 3 no le han quitado esa magia a nightwish, amo a tarja amo a anette y a floor lo unico que no me gusta esque la gente se basuree la banda cuando la banda no ha tomado malas decisiones o cosas asi, en el periodo que estuvo tarja la banda estuvo por disolverse debido a las diferencias que habian entonces fue correcto que expulsaran a tarja siendo qe ademas ella decia que queria ser solista y alguien no puede decir eso cuando esta en una banda entonces nightwish tomo una buena decision expulsandola antes qe acabar con la banda y bueno no soporto que basureen nightwish o las vocalistas solo porque no son del gusto de algunos

Floor is so great. She walks the line between Tarja and Anette so well. She can pull off the more operatic songs but also nail all of the Anette songs.
Plus she can fucking growl. If you think about how versatile a vocalist she is she's imo a better singer than Tarja and Anette combined. She's amazing and an absolute perfect fit for Nightwish.

Snepif Well, not for me though. My Favs are def. Once, Oceanborn and Dark Passion Play but EFMB was just not that great to me. Because Tuomas sold Floor under her worth and it didn't have the Magic from the older Records. But thats just my Opinion, I'm not a Tarja Fanboy nor do I hold anything against Floor or Anette.
Snepif That's an opinion though. For me, Endless Forms was a huge disappointment. Flat vocals, repetitive songs, subpar writing, and way too little Marco. I'm really hoping that next album they just completely cut loose and let Floor do her thing.

Snepif I actually quite liked Greatest Show. It was way too fucking long, to the point where I only ever listen to about half of it, but that's another point entirely. I was disappointed in the lyrics of literally every other song on the album.

I absolutely love Floor's voice in this, but I cannot avoid commenting that they lowered the tone for her to sing - this music is way easier than the original and everyone knows Tarja's daunted past with this one, so I'd say that if Tarja sung it today with the lower tone, she'd also nail it. :)
Tarja also has to sing it now in a lower key (e.g. in Buenos Aires in 2011). On the other hand, the key had to be lowered so that Empuu didn't have to use two different guitars. But, independently of that... what would be the problem for Floor to sing this song in a lower key?

Tuve la oportunidad de ver en vivo a las 3 vocalistas de Nightwish varias veces y mi opinión es qué Tarja es mucho MEJOR cantante y frontman que Floor por varios cuerpos!!!... qué no este tan cómoda en los registros más graves por su naturaleza de SOPRANO lirica o qué no sea un armatoste de 1.90 metros de altura son sólo cuestiones ESTÉTICAS, en todo caso te puede gustar más una qué otra y es respetable pero a mi me gusta MUCHÍSIMO más TARJA!
