Boneless chicken breasts
Barbecue sauce
Potatoes, chopped
Cheddar cheese, shredded
Onion, diced
Salt and pepper
A bit of olive oil
frozen corn on the cob
plenty of foil
Instructions
Place the chicken in the bottom of the crockpot.
Pour on some barbecue sauce. You don't want to add too much, because the goal is to have as little liquid as possible in the bottom of the pot.
Stir the potatoes, a bit of olive oil, onion, cheese and salt and pepper together in a bowl.
Make a large packet out of foil and wrap the potatoes in it, loosely.
Wrap each corn in foil.
Place the potato packet on top of the chicken. Add the corn.
Cook on high for 5-6 hours or low for 7-8.
Delicious. Consider putting corn in a little later if you are at home to do so
Smells like an Emu? I’m sorry I didn’t quite catch that.
Imu, which is a pit that we cook food in in Hawaii. It gives off a nice smoky, musty flavorful scent.
🗣 SHE SAID IT SMELLS LIKE EMU! DID YOU HEAR THAT?!🗣
What, you've never cooked a giant, flightless bird?
Lord, people - read! She addressed this question a year ago!
My mom recently got laid off from work and I decided to take up cooking at home to not only save money but break the fast food habit. Made this yesterday and was a HUGE success. Your channel (along with the almighty google) is teaching me so much about home cooking. thanks for being so awesome :D
10 years ago, I had a different account. I made this following your tutorial. Then I couldn't find you again and wanted to make it again. Now I found you so excited to make this again!
Here's a random tip for the morning congestion... First thing after you wake up drink a glass of water with lemon juice. Fresh or concentrate. It should help clear your sniffles for the day :)
I know what I am fixing my family for dinner tomorrow! Never thought to cook an entire meal this way. Thank you for your feedback and helpful tips on this recipe.
This is the 1st cook that I've seen in 20 years who uses aluminum foil to wrap up things like potatoes and corn IN THE SLOW COOKER. I think it's a great method !!!
10 years later and I am still making this dish!
I have never tried an entire meal in my crockpot in this manner, but you have certainly given me the motivation to do so. It turned out great and looks delicious. Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful!
Very good. my cousin tried it before me, and warned of the underdone potatoes, and she recommended a minute and a half in the microwave with olive oil, prior to the rest of ingredients and crock pot. It worked and the potatoes were done, and good. This site is in a dead heat with Cook n Share with me, as far as simple and delicious. The Sesame crock pot chicken here, makes it a tie. I'm a guy who is a good cook, who doesnt like to cook, only the results. The easier the better. This is a keeper, Thanks
No way this looks awesome. What a great idea with the aluminum foil. You got a gold star.
I use crockpot liners for everything...good seal, you can store leftovers in the bag and then reuse the bag - no mess in the crockpot.....love'em
Thank you so much for sharing this method. I’m going to try as soon as I have time. Perfect for a lazy winter Sunday here in Ireland. You are so natural I enjoy the video very much. Kindest regards and blessings from Ireland 🇮🇪
Thank you so much
That's a Super good Idea putting your Potatoes in the foil! I have never seen anyone else do that. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
I have prepared a rib eye steak with Baby Ray's bbq sauce. My favorite. No onions, but cut up 2 potatoes with garlic butter, salt and pepper and chedder cheese. It is in the crock pot and ready for tomorrow. Yum.
My significant other loves this recipe!! Thank you so very much and continue to show us more!!!!
I'm glad that you enjoyed :)
Made this tonight. It was yummy! My potates too were a little undercooked but ok. I'll cut them even smaller next time. Put corn in two hours before time and they were fine. Great easy put together dinner!
This was great. I cut the potatoes smaller as you suggested. Who would have thought a whole meal in the crock pot! Thanks
enjoyed this, I may try it with my favorite BBQ sauce, Stubb's, and put the potatoes at the bottom and the corn around, using fresh corn (because it takes longer to cook), and then put the chicken on top, so the fluids cook into the corn and potatoes and the bbq stays on the chicken a bit better.
Lisa Smith : Exactly, and it comes out cooked perfectly every time when placed correctly in the crockpot.
Lisa Smith did you put foil between the vegetables and chicken?
@@mmmlaugh no. That's the point. You can avoid the foil altogether if you layer it correctly.
@lisa....good idea.
Did you still rap the corn and potatoes in tin foil ?
I did this for our evening meal tonight and just wanted to say how great it was . Really tasty.
From the UK
Great to hear!
Very down to home and realistic, love the recipe!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for this recipe! This is so awesome on days I'm working or super busy and can't get a huge dinner done when I get home--it will already be made!
I should say my uncle used that bbq sauce yesterday to soak the ribs in for Easter he also put in coke with it in one batch & Dr Pepper in another, for a day + of slow cooking, Fabulous!
I would not want the aluminium foil to come into contact with the BBQ Sauce because any acid, ie Vinegar would cause the foli to break down.
Awesome recipe and thank you for sharing your tips💚👍👍
Let me ask you something ? WHY do they even sell other BBQ sauces ? I'm so serious ! Sweet Baby Rays is hands down the best ! Anyways... Thank you for sharing this recipe ! Great job !
What a great idea!!!! I have to say .... YOU HAVE ONE OF THE BEST COOKING VID OUT ON RUclips!!! and you didn't even edit the vid!!!! Thank you so much for sharing the end results!!!! I can't tell you how happy I am you did that ... I'm such a nerd lol but i don't care I just finishing looking at a few vids and I was disappointed that there wasn't a pic something of the end result.... so thank you thank you thank you ... and I'm going to keep watching your other vids now :) So glad I found ya
You are so right in saying that Sweet Baby Rays is quite possibly the best sauce around!! Love the stuff. Oh that was so cute to hear Granny laughing in the background. I know what I am cooking tomorrow for dinner. will film it and make a few little tweaks to it. thanks for the idea.
I made this today, but with pork meat, so so good, the potatoes where just great, so happy. Thanks, I can't wait to try it with chicken.
Going to make it tomorrow. Can't wait to see if my hubby likes it.
I was very surprised to see the veggies going in the pot in foil. what a great idea!
Maybe instead of foil, you can use a crockpot cooking bag.
ROSEMARIE ORTEGA-PALOMINO Yeah I am concerned with using foil as well since it is said to cause Alzheimer. Any other item you could use like maybe parchment paper or whatever that stuff is for cooking?
That's a great idea. I'm trying it now. Use the crock pot liners in layers, so the food won't mix. I have barbecue chicken on the bottom, than I put another crock pot layer on top with my potatoes sitting in that layer. I'm going to try and see how it works.
How bout a bowl?
Hi a Brit here fairly new to slow cooker. I hated bbq sauce for years, found it so sickly. Then my partner bought a bottle of "Newman's Own" bbq sauce and I am now devoted to that. I am going to try your recipe probably using parchment in place of foil. I bought mini corn shaped corn pins to eat my corns and they are so cute and useful. I have tried slow pork roast in my pot and a whole baby chicken which was amazing. And slow chilli con Carne was so intense and moreish. Traditional curry is taken to another level as the slow process lets the spices develope and penetrate the meats. Thanks.
Yum Sweet Baby Ray is da best....friend turned me on to it about ten yrs ago and boy do I love it. The spicy one is good too. Love the idea of this and can not wait to try. Thanks for sharing.
Definitely gonna try this and a BIG THANKS for easy and simple directions. You explained it very well.
First I seen someone wrap in foil and place in slow cooker. Have to give that try. Looks delicious.
Made this today i added sausage to the potatoes and it was fabulous!!!
her laugh goes right along with this delicious looking food!
Thank you!!
Two men and a kid lmfaooo! Great recipe love how you separated everything ,have to make this!
You are a crockpot Queen, I'm totally impressed and will try to make this.
Interesting concept! By your title, I wasn't sure how you were going to pull this one off, but I must say that you certainly did. I would never have thought to separate items with foil in the slow cooker. Now you have me thinking what else can be cooked this way. Thanks so much for sharing!
What an awesome way to prepare a meal and so simple, and it's ingenious.
P.S. Forgot to add that it is nice to hear your mom laugh and enjoy herself after everything that she's recently been through. Yay, Mom!
this one is wonderful. will try it today i hope. need to find some veggies now. fridge is almost empty. was using up all we had so i would not waste. market here i come. thanks for the vid.
I especially Love what you did with the corn. I can hardly wait to try it out!
making this tonight. I used hidden valley ranch seasoning on my potatoes along with paprika and parsley.
fing3rtips
they came out a little under cooked from what I can remember. but I did cook it for the minimum time and put them on top.
It looks really good.
Thanks for sharing, trying this out right now!
I know what I'm having on Sunday for my tea. Thank you for the great video & recipe +CookingAndCrafting
I like the idea of a whole meal in one slow-cooker; however, there is great danger in wrapping food in the foil. May I suggest that you first wrap it in parchment paper & then in the foil with a layer of parchment paper over the chicken before placing the potato packet in the pot? I might even try using parchment paper only & see how it works.
Yep agree definitely not the foil in that manner
@@rpmohamm You will die of old age way before your body is truly harmed from what you're preaching about....
Excited to try this! My aunt got me a crockpot a few months ago and I haven't even used it yet, hopefully this recipe will force me to try it lol
You'll love it! I really liked the potatoes a lot!
Never used my crock pot till last week. Looked up a recipe for pot roast and was really awesome lol. I had my crock pot for two months before lol.

wow this looks absolutely amazing didn't realize you could add foods in foil deffo going to get this! you have yrself a new follower 👍👍
It does look tasty, and I like your narrative style.
Thanks!
Can't wait to try this in my new crockpot
What a great recipe! Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful idea!! Will def try this!! I'm glad it turned out well because I know you would tell us if it didn't!! thx for sharing!
Love your channel here in Texas!!! Howdy!!! New subby and scriby.I have 2 big leg quarters going now in my Crock-Pot with some Bullseye barbque sauce.Smells great!!! Love your videos!! Have a blessed weekend and stay safe.😃👍🙏☕
awesome tips and twist for slow cooker dinners. thanks for sharing.
Very cool!! I love that they cook together, but will still have their own flavor. Sweet Baby Ray is my favorite store bought tomato based sauce, but being the Eastern NC girl I am, I always have to cut it with vinegar.
Thanks!
Pam
I'm so pleased that you were honest about how something didn't turn out exactly the way you wanted and you offered a solution :) Will be trying this, thank you!
is this healthy? I mean adding foil and the chicken on the bottom of the crockpot?
I wouldn't cook with foil in a crock pot bc the metal can seep into your food. as it break down from being in the crock pot for hours the food will absorb the metal.
I was afraid when I prepared it and left home for work, I thought it may burn the chicken, but when I came back home I found that this recipe it's just delicious !! Thanks a lot !! ;(
Try using crock pot liners-- clean up is so very easy! I'm going to try this -- thank you for sharing! ❤
I actually appreciate the trial and error aspect.
this is such a cool idea! i like how you cook the potatoes in there, I never knew you could do that, so smart :D I am making this today for sure!
I have been looking for this video. Can't wait to try it.
That looks delicious !!
Beth this is fascinating. I didn't know you could put metal into a crock pot until I was watching a pbs cooking show this weekend. And then here you are doing the same thing. Looks good girl. Hugs!
I tried this recipe and the way you seasoned with barely the BBQ brand you recommended just on one side only, the result is bland chicken, hospital like meal. I added to to my 3 chicken breasts more BBQ sauce massaging the meat both sides with the sauce and cooked for 7 1/: hours, without anything else. No water, no broth, just the breasts but when they were cooked I saw a substantial amount of liquid. Even so, they tasted a bit bland so I had to brush my meat with a bit more with the BBQ sauce you recommended and finally tasted good.
just happen to pass by your channel and love it. i love using my slowcooker and always need new dinner ideas.
Hi, really interested in making this meal for a family of eight. wanted to make sure the meal doesn't taste metallic. You know from the foil.
Wish I had "Smellavision" lol. I will make this. We love the chicken thighs and legs, but save the chicken breast for chicken salad, with apples and steamed and cooled raisins. Looks yummy, and thanks for honest advice so I will have perfect bbq in my kitchen.
I will try this recipe as I am looking for some recipes for my slow cooker and this looks good it’s the same way I cook camping food🐿 yummy
I am trying to catch up on all your videos and just found this one. What a wonderful idea, now why didn't I think of that. Going to try this after I get some corn.
Thanks for making this video. Im going to sure make this but without the corn. Recipe is just what i need
Now this really looks interesting and yummy! I knew crock pots did a lot of wonderful things, but I had no idea I could make a nice BBQ dinner all together, hah! I'll definitely try this in the next week! Thanks for the wonderful idea :)
I cannot wait to make this!!
Love it, thanks for sharing! I love how you have daily videos! I was away on a work trip for a week and was exactly to come back to catch up on the good eats:) Happy Easter!
It looks heavenly, and please know that I will refrain from teasing you about your sniffle:). Thank you for showing me an entirely different way to utilize my crockpot!
thanks
This looks amazing. So glad I found your channel by accident!
welcome aboard!
Looks so good . Can't wait to try it.
I was hoping you said you liked it because I wanted to try it :) Never occurred to me to separate the things with foil like that!
Do you know if you could put frozen breasts in and keep everything else the same (putting in the veggies and the cook time).
Good afternoon 😃, thanks so much for your teaching and sharing. I’m trying it today it smells so good, I know it’s going to taste delicious too. Again thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks for this recipe! Have Crockpot but need some previous experiences and advices.😘
This appears to be a good idea for a quick meal just without the foil ....
Cool idea! Can't wait to try it!
thanks for sharing the recipe i did it and it was good very good thanks and blessings from Azusa California
I looks super delicious and its fun to prepare. Thank you for the recipe.
Looks good. Maybe if you used raw corn rather than frozen corn, it would take longer to cook and not get so overcooked - because frozen corn is quite soft when you start.
You need to wash that dam chicken
Actually the USDA preaches against that practice. It tends to contaminate other surfaces and can create the perfect environment for cross contamination.
Right?! Seriously, there is none better.
I did make a homemade one (cherry cola BBQ) that was pretty darn awesome, but it still had a base of a cup of Sweet Baby Ray's :D
Why have I never thought of doing this? I use my cock pot all of the time and never thought of this! Thanks for sharing!!
Watching this I wonder how it would work if you used the slow cooker bags as dividers for each layer?
i tried the chicken but i added some brown sugar and it was very delish. did not try the potatoes in the same pot cooked them in another crock pot. Easy and delish.
wow this looks great! I've been looking for something to make in my crockpot that doesn't involve a stew and this looks great! Can't wait to try. Thanks for sharing!
you didn't season the chicken at all?
Paula Johnson vij
i did it with just the bbq sauce and some brown sugar and it came out great tasting no need for the extra steps in marinating etc. at least not for me.
Quite a lot of "seasoning"in the bbq sauce, no?
Gee Paula, you must be a very good cook, where is your site???
@Paula Johnson Yes, I think letting the chicken marinade in fridge overnight may help. But other than that no seasoning is needed. The BBQ sauce does it all.
I like to add small/medium onion chunks to mine, let all of that BBQ sauce goodness soak in everything. I make white potatoes for my hubby but I don't care for them so I make sweet potatoes for myself. Easy anytime of the year meal. I love my crockpot in the summer, I don't like cooking oven meals in summer. This is a great meal to come home to in the autumn after a brisk walk in the woods. Good spring, summer, fall and winter. Yum!!!
Thank you!! This looks great. I would use chicken breast or legs. To much fat from the thighs. And I would add garlic to the potatoes.
Hi friend. I have 2 questions please. Does the corn need to be frozen? And does the chicken need to be boneless. Cuz this looks amazing! Thank You!
I know this is an older video, but can you do this with other meats as well? Thank you for sharing this. I'm trying this.
wouldnt the foil react to the BBQ sauce kinda like it does with a tomato sauce?
