In this video I show you how to make a whole chicken in a slow cooker or crockpot. We make our own simple but Delicious seasoning mix! I answer all your questions like... Do I add water to the slow cooker?
Ingredients:
1 Small to Medium Chicken
1 Yellow Onion
Potatoes, Carrots or Sweet Potatoes if you want Vegetables
1-2 Table Spoons of Salt
2 Table Spoons of Olive Oil
No Need To Add Water!
(Seasoning)
1 Tablespoon Paprika
1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
1-2 Table Spoons Black Pepper
2 Teaspoons Salt (Will salt the bird directly as well)
Clean and Trim Chicken
Salt Bird Directly with 1-2 Tablespoons of salt
Apply 2 Table Spoons Of Olive Oil To bird
Apply Seasoning Mix all over bird
place cut veggies in the Crock Pot
Place Seasoned Chicken On top of veggies
Cook On Low for 4.5 - 5 Hours
* I like to Start my Crockpot on High while I'm Prepping and for about the First 30 minutes of cooking, Before I turn it down to low

Looks really good mashaalla 🤲🥰
Sir, your entire video was perfect; from your background music( not too overwhelming), your presentation of your set up of herbs and vegetables, etc! I gives this video of yours, 2 FAT THUMBS UP! Well done, sir! Oh, your chicken looked incredibly delicious!❤ -Subscribed!👍
Thank you very much! I appreciate your kind words 😊🙏
You said what I met to say🥰🥰❣️❣️❣️👌💞♥️💞
Sweet potatoes are amazing with roast chicken!!
Agreed
Looks better than I thought it would.
Great Recipe! Sweet potatoes are a good idea
Love sweet potatoes 😊
Look delish. It will cut less stringy and won't tear as much if you cut the breast meat away from the bone first. Then, slice it the opposite direction of how you did in the video. Cut it East to West once breast is removed... not downward from the side/ top of the breast while it's on the chicken or a turkey.
Thanks for the tip!
I love that you use the minimum spices. Everybody else puts a bunch of junk of stuff all unhealthy stuff. Looking forward to following you for future recipes.
Thanks for watching! Many more to come.
My kind of meal 😊
I needed a recipe for my chicken and I am very glad to check the internet. I'm going to try your recipe in a few minutes. Thanks for the oven idea!!!
Good luck and Thanks for watching!
Looks delicious and easy
Beautiful 😍❤️
Looks so good. Deliciousness.
our AC has been out and I am wracking my brain on what I can cook that is easy. I actually have an Instant Pot that I have cooked whole Chickens in.. (I even cooked an old chicken I found in my Freezer and cooked that from Frozen.. came out perfectly!). I also Invested in a Slow Cooker again too so I am going to try this this week.
Insta pot is great for chicken too! But the Crock-Pot is my favorite easy method for sure. Hope it turns out great and happy cooking!
Instapot has a slow-cooker setting as well, just FYI. ❤
Yummy !!!
Yummy indeed!
Definitely trying this!!!
Definitely going to try this!
😊
Super many thanks, I love the sweet potato idea and I would put a couple of pieces of lemon inside the bird.
Yes lemon is a great idea if you like a little zest 🤤👍
Looks so delicious thanks for sharing your recipe
Thanks for watching!
Your chicken looks amazing! I will definitely try the upside down chicken method, as it makes perfect sense! I just didn't think of it before..dang! 😄 I also never thought of using sweet potatoes either, so I learned some new things today! Thanks so much for that! I've liked and subscribed as well!
Thank you! I'm glad you found it useful! Many more videos to come. Anything you would like to see specifically? 😎
Thank you!
Ummm looks perfect….MORE OR ALL‼️‼️☑️❣️❣️

Thanks for watching. Glad to hear you liked it!
Looks so good i am gonna thaw my chicken right after this lol!
Happy cooking!
That looks awesome! Until you flipped over the chicken 🤣 But It looks delicious too
🤣 it's delicious I promise!!
Can you cook a whole froxen chicken in a cockpot
You could but it would take longer and will most likely result in an over done breast. Best to thaw it in the refrigerator 24 hours before. Make sure you reach an internal temperature of 165.
Yuppy Way
Looks great can't wait to make it. How heavy bird 2 1/2 - 3 lbs should do it 😊
The bird I used was about 3.5 if I recall correctly.
I'm doing it 😊
Let me know how it goes!
Have you been to NANDOS?
They precook in a STEAM oven and finish on a gas type bbq grill.
Would be interesting to do Nandos peri peri chicken using your method.
I have not been there. But that is an excellent idea! I will have to try that. I would recommend only cooking the chicken for 2 or 3 hours so it doesn't fall apart so easily out of the slow cooker! Thanks for watching!
What is that red spice you mixed?is that paprika powder or red chili powder?
Your first choice was correct 💯 paprika is always a good pair with chicken.
Without the pepperrika, the chicken will look blaw
@@pjm8183 you're right! Oops. I used a table spoon of paprika. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll put the ingredients in the description.
@@bakesfoods I don’t see any listing of spices in the description.
@@SuzanneWho Look in the video description 😊👍
I want ingredients listed!
The best part is that the backbone meat remains to be eaten as per a roast chicken.
I always turn that into soup later
Do I need to add water??
You don't need to add any liquid. Look at all of the juices at the end of the video. It all comes from the chicken and veggies
Usually not
Good recipe…breast side down or up is always up for debate but when broiling, I would flip over and do breast side up to crisp the skin.
That makes for a more presentable bird for sure 👍
No weter is added?
No need for water when cooking on low. The chicken fats and juices will be enough to keep it tender and juicy! Especially if you add some onion 👍
Quick question what does broil mean? ❤
To Cook by direct exposure to radiant Heat 🥸
Why breast side down?
The fatty parts of the bird are in the back. So as the juices render, they will run through the bird form to the breasts and help keep it juicy and tender! 😎
I can't believe it doesn't require any type of liquid.
No liquid necessary. Tender and juicy!
