No matter where you go, you give us a video with a look at a new place and the right amount of information to bring it all together in a very informative video. It is so wonderful to see what they have done to save an old section of town and make it vibrant once again. If I get down there for some reason or another, I know a place that I need to go visit.
Comments like that give me the confidence to do videos that are “different” from time to time. Much appreciated! It’s nice to make a video that gets lots of views, but I really do videos that I’m interested in and the “core” subscribers like you enjoy!
I did enjoy this episode. The Coleman factory was a bonus. I've always had excellent service with their products. I too, would spend some serious time in the museum. Thank you and safe travels.😎👍
Hey Coach .There's much in the way of Wichita area history here.I'm a non Kansan, but I found some of it quite interesting. especially the dinosaur skeletons. Keep on rollin'.
I was so glad when you mentioned MODERN CLEANER'S, my Grandpa Bill worked there for many years. He had the rich section of town. When he passed away it took them 3 people to take over his route. He was a very hard working man.
Interesting old Witchita. How many older cities have a neat tale to tell and you always do a good job of bringing the old out into view. Our country has amazing places full of history if we only search it out. Thanks John for all your historical work of the old places long forgotten. Keep up the good work. Love it all.
Excellent and informative video. There is a RUclips channel called Virtual Rail Fan. They have cameras all over the country to show different locomotives and rolling stock on different railroads. There is a camera in Wichita showing the BNSF mainline. It looks back toward the building that the Spaghetti Works is in. There a several older Santa Fe locomotives and other rolling stock on display there. The Santa Fe had the very distinctive “War Bonnet” paint scheme on the locomotives. Usually red and yellow, but they also used a yellow and blue paint scheme, too. One of the most famous Santa Fe trains was “The Chief”. It ran from Chicago to Los Angeles. Amtrak still has a passenger train with that name.
I grew up intimidated by the size of Wichita in Dodge City. The Hawaii videos were interesting but for me this Wichita video was more informative. I need to explore Wichita, maybe you could do a video about the aircraft industry in Wichita, Leer, Beechcraft etc 😎
Thanks! I’m hoping to do a significant Dodge City video someday. I’d love to do some stuff on the aircraft industry in Wichita but my knowledge is limited. I’ll need to tap and expert 😊
There are a lot of passionate volunteers out at the Aviation Museum! I have a good feeling some of them would LOVE to help you make some videos! The museum itself is a joy in and of itself. @@TravelwithaWiseguy
My goodness, what an interesting area of Wichita. I have some relatives living there. One is a cousin that lived in Wichita for many years but after her husband died she moved to Arizona but has moved back to Wichita a couple of years ago. She has a daughter and grandchildren living in Wichita. I can't remember for sure but I think my family and I visited her years ago.. Also a girlfriend and I stayed with some of her relatives once when she was job hunting. Old Town Wichita sure looks like a nice place to visit. But it looks like it would take days to see everything especially the museum as it sure had a lot to see. It reminded me of another city that has an Old Town area too. Santa Fe New Mexico.. John, it sure gives me wanderlust watching your videos and I sure do love watching yours. Thank you. Happy trails to you and God bless.
I think a lot of people here take that area for granted not realizing the history of it. Pretty cool place to walk around and learn about especially with the museum right there.
Love OldTown...that museum looks great, and so do their events! I can remember when Tanya's Soup Kitchen was in the original depot building. So much character in all those structures, just never gets old...
Forgot about all those cool old buildings and the history with them. Thank you very much. When I was stationed at McConnell, we were all over down and around. Good times and great memories.
Have you done a video on the historical museum in Wichita? also Murdochs home is still standing and being lived in last I knew. I got to go in it once and it is amazing inside. Glad someone is pointing out the great state of Kansas.
I wanted to know what Flug-Ugly meant. LOL. I LOVE looking through museums. Thanks for taking us along. Maybe during the many times you visit that museum, you can start a new series of videos called "Museums" for those of us who really like to visit museums, but can't and you can make the videos longer.
Very well presented view of the old down town. great museum. plus I learned now my mother misused that term in referencing some women I dated in my younger days
I worked on content for that historical display, along with a colleague, Amanda Harris-Eden, as well as some terrific graphic designers, when I was with the Greteman Group marketing agency back in the early 2000s. I'm glad it still looks good! Well, except for that missing "1," haha! Thanks for the video!
The eagle( news paper) is only printed several days a week in Kansas City. It is very over priced! You get it when the news is a day old. They think every one should have a computer in their home. I can add , subtract, and sign my name.

You see Coleman all around the city. Our tennis complex on campus is named after Coleman too. Hopefully someday you could make a visit!
I love it that you took this leap and explored a very different landscape. It's great to see Wichita through your eyes.
Thank you very much! I’ve really enjoyed living here 😊

Thanks for watching! I’m not much of an expert on dinosaurs but it’s definitely interesting!
I look forward to visiting Old Town Wichita next May for the Spring Prairie Fire half marathon.
Yes! I’m confident you’ll have a great race Steve!

My wife and I's first place was the Harvester Lofts across from the Warren Theatre. We loved living in Old Town and I always enjoy being there.
I looked at those places too! Eventually I moved to the other side of the railroad tracks 😂
Coleman was huge, I'm a Coleman lantern collector.. I haven't been to the AIR CAPITOL in years. One day we will visit again.
You’re always welcome anytime 😊
THANKS FOR THE HISTORY COACH 😊
You bet!
Nice job Coach,, Some good ole Kansas History ..
Thanks!

WSU has an old photo Archives of Wichita, it is most excellent.

What an amazing experience in museum, and Historic area . Another outstanding video for Kansas visit.

Fun to be able to read the history and see the buildings at the same time 😊

Do you mean Cowtown? Yes I’ve done a video there - always a fun place to visit!
Loved this video!!! I love Wichita, my birthplace! Loved hearing all this history!! Well done!
Awesome! Thank you!
Another interesting Wichita video! So amazing and definitely informative. Thanks for doing this one!
My pleasure!
Miss my years in Wichita.
Another great video, I liked the museum trip. I had several Colman camping stoves. Thank you taking us along.
Very cool! Thank you! :)

Leays thought it was Plug ugly...?
I’m not sure - I didn’t look at all of them 😂😂
I think I just got schooled about Wichita!!
😂👍

I flash to Firefly when I hear the music in this video. My favorite Sci-fi.

Well done Wiseguy... Old West Magazine.
Love the content ✌️🤟🙏

Fun Fact it was in 1877 they first played a night Football match here in Australia . An Australian Rules Football match in Melbourne
Very cool 😎

Very true - although being in athletics I still know the sports writers who live and work here in Wichita for the paper.
I believe it is printed in Hutchinson now.
@@TravelwithaWiseguy I did not think about reporters that live in Wichita.
Where in Wichita do you find those signs telling about the buildings?
It’s right in front and to the left of the entrance to the Museum of World Treasures
You are a year older than me
Are you trying to rub it in 😂😂
I'm from Puke... 😂👍
I had no idea what that was going to say when I moved the block 😂
@@TravelwithaWiseguy yeah right... 🤣
Wichita is OK I guess.
It just needs some TLC and some soap and water.
Nowadays it’s what’s NOT there that matters most.
Pretty sure you have a bee on your neck.
