Even more Kudos to you Matt! I’m rewatching your series for bringing back my own memories. And oh man, I nearly gave up after that climb to the Llama ranch… it was so so hard! I've experienced a lot of kindness in America. Both here and on the Appalachian trail. It never ceases to amaze me and yes, the small towns are the best!
I'm rewatching your series for the third time in an effort to glean and learn even more than the first two times I've watched, especially now that I've ridden the GDMBR. One of the main things I'm hoping to gain from rewatching this time is to plan/coordinate around a more budget friendly campsite/hotel/hostel etc. plan. Woodward Creek: was that wild camping? I did a night or two of that myself this past summer in Montana, but in riding it again, I wouldn't do it. A local told me the swan river area is the highest bear density. (don't know if that's true) but my sleep was for sure affected when wild camping in Montana, grizzly country. So while I want to be budget friendly, I want to be sure there is bear canisters wherever I sleep. Do you recall if there were bear lockers at Woodward creek? It looks from the video that it was wild camping.
@@matryderadventures You're probably only going to do it once, so make the most of it, take your time; I'd love to see more segments where you're talking to the local folks you meet as you go along the route. That is of course if they want to appear on camera

Coconut water would have helped with your hydration issues.
I love coconut water. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks 👍👍
another good'n. do you fly your drone manually or is it a 'follow-me' type?
Cheers 👍👍. It can do the follow me thing but it's a bit hit and miss. I tend to 'dangerously' control it while I'm riding.
@@matryderadventures works well! 👍
Mat, when you say you're struggling getting enough water, are you perhaps taking in too much sodium?
I definitely eat too much salt. You may be right.
What chain lube do you recommend?
I don't have a chain but Bill likes Dunonde Tech original. Apply it every 4 days or straight after it rains.
Another great episode! I can't wait to pet the llamas! Meanwhile, on the topic of downed trees and potholes...we took on The Jungle in Oregon for a 2 day bike packing trip recently and earned our badges! I'm thinking this will be good training for the Great Divide. Do you or your riders/followers have what it takes to...Conquer the Jungle? ruclips.net/video/MiQCe_HkFkM/видео.html
Thanks. I'll be sure to give this a watch 👍
cats retract their claws whereas bears and wolves don't. looks canine
