My lady and I saw him in in Eureka Springs earlier this year...he opened for Steve Earle....should have been the other way around......Junior was amazing and fun....and his wife was sooo good on guitar and vocals! I want to see them again!
There are good Rhythm guitar players and then there is Mrs Brown, With all the crazy stuff Junior Brown does, she just keeps on time no matter what, kudos to her!!!!!
Agreed junior owns the rock & roll hall of fame there are very few guitarists that can play at this level a handful maybye junior is awesome word is he gave srv lessons once upon a time
Instrumental surf is this odd little micro genre that the vast majority of folks I run across just don't get. I can't see any of those "non-getters" listening to something like this and not having a fantastic time. I hope this guy lives to be 100 years old playing music like this!
I get it!!!! I love instrumental surf guitar music the original era of Surf was about 1960 through about 62 and it influenced many young guy's to start playing guitar. It of course was a major influence on the original sound of the Beach boys and guy's like Jan and Dean. Sometime in the 60's The original instrumental surf music went kind of underground where it was embraced by places like Scandinavia and other non english speaking places it does pop up every now and then in the mainstream but if you search youtube you can find tons of great surf guitarists and bands the genre is alive and well today
The most amazing picker I've ever had the honor and pleasure of hearing and meeting, in Muskogee,OK! He handed me his last used thumb pick, immediately after the night's last tune!!
The songs in the medley: Apache (The Shadows), A smidge of Spanish-sounding guitar a la Malanguena, Bulldog (The Fireballs), Jonny B. Goode (Chuck Berry).
I'm always memorized when I listen to him play? I don't find him in the greatest guitar players in the world list. He deserves to be in the top 40 best! At least! just sayin
Dude has it figured out really. What to wear tonight? Why the black suit with the white shirt and black tie, along with my special too small cowboy hat of course.
Junior has a great execution and versatility up and down the neck. hybrid picking, Echoes of Chuck Berry and the Moorish influences flamingo guitar. Thank you Jr. You're a l lesson for the eyes and a treat for my ears. You take care and I hope I get to meet you someday. Iron American Dream on RUclips.
Got to respect j.r. brown for his guitar playing skills but i think his choice in that style of hat is what sets him apart you see I'm from Texas the only men who wear that type of hat also wear little tin 🌟 on their chest and usually call you son , boy, and as usual I'm trying to explain why I'm in such a hurry . But that's life in Texas !!
If you enjoy Junior Browns music you should check out this playlist from Sams Burger Joint in San Antonio shot on February 1st, 2013. I shot this one with 2 cameras and some great lighting. I am told by my subscribers that these videos are EXCELLENT QUALITY and they are Junior at his best! ruclips.net/p/PLZK9yFhXveIWvWYSOq9bhOTCeDSRXl6E- ....Stay tuned as I am currently editing videos from a 4 camera shoot at the same venue, recorded 1-11-14!
Junior is one of the most underrated guitar aficionados of all time and perhaps my favorite country musician
I've been to one of the biggest country music festivals around 30 times. Every top act has played. Junior was one of my all time favorites.
Junior Brown belongs in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
No, they should build a small monument to him in his hometown. R&R HOF is a corporate joke set up to make money, not music.
My lady and I saw him in in Eureka Springs earlier this year...he opened for Steve Earle....should have been the other way around......Junior was amazing and fun....and his wife was sooo good on guitar and vocals! I want to see them again!
And the country hall of fame, but these folks in town have a stick up their collective asses.
@Elstan McFrolicker let me call James Doohan he can fabricate transparent aluminium.
this guitsteel was stolen i think its big red
Could you imagine Roy Clark and Junior playing together ❤
There are good Rhythm guitar players and then there is Mrs Brown, With all the crazy stuff Junior Brown does, she just keeps on time no matter what, kudos to her!!!!!
Is that his wife?

This is OUTSTANDING! I could listen to his stuff all day long. I remember hearing his recording of "409" with the Beach Boys - wow!
Junior brown the hidden treasure, if you find jr your life will never be the same
This dude can play!
I drive fast while listening to his highway patrol song. They’ve never caught me yet.
If I could play _half_ as well as junior, I'd be able to play for any band and be neck-deep in chicks and money 😄
I love how he tunes his guitar as he's playing!!! Totally bad ass!!!!
I just discovered junior Brown on RUclips about a week ago what a treasure this guy is he's absolutely amazing
Agreed junior owns the rock & roll hall of fame there are very few guitarists that can play at this level a handful maybye junior is awesome word is he gave srv lessons once upon a time
I actually heard that Junior taught Jimmy Vaughn, (SRV's brother) to play the steel gutiar..

it's placed some where around "garage band" music
Give a listen to The Surfrajettes.
old boy can flat out play
When I close my eyes I can see the amp fuses glowing
Saw him live. He is the real deal😍😍😍
I totally agree. Hope he's acknowledged before we lose him.
I’ve never seen Junior live but he strikes me as a guy you can hear from 5 miles away 😂. I’d love to see him live.
This man is an underrated genius.
This guy is a musical genius.
I have 2 of his albums. They are fantastic!
This man was born with an incredible talent.
Jr’s ability is endless he jams it like no tomorrow 👍👍👍
I lived across the street from Dick Dale when I was a kid in the 1960's
I detect a bit of Jimi Hendrix there pretty good,I've only just discovered this character in the last month
This is kick ass
Looks like Junior is having fun. If he's enjoying himself I'm sure having fun .thank you.
Awesome. An American treasure.
The most amazing picker I've ever had the honor and pleasure of hearing and meeting, in Muskogee,OK! He handed me his last used thumb pick, immediately after the night's last tune!!
Nice score! Check out the 2 I got from him! www.dropbox.com/s/ylu1r3urmejm1w2/guitar%20pics.jpg?dl=0
Wow! Double-bonus! ..He was alone when he performed in a small nightclub in Muskogee! Mine is the tortoise shell with his sig.
These are the guitar songs that made me start playing in the early 50's. Love 'em!! Junior Brown is amazing.
SONGS have words by definition!
I like how he combines a bit of C&W with the surf to create his own sound !
The songs in the medley: Apache (The Shadows), A smidge of Spanish-sounding guitar a la Malanguena, Bulldog (The Fireballs), Jonny B. Goode (Chuck Berry).
So glad I have a CD of this. I would have worn out a record at least ten times.
Thank you, loving this so much
This dude is a badass, just listening to this is making me want to get back in the water and surf.
👍 Junior, killing it as always.
Epic!! Deserves to be in Hall of Fame. Better than many no talents that are already there. Rock on Junior.
Really enjoyable! Junior Brown kept me paying attention to every note. Now HE is a guitar player!
I’m smiling all through this.
I'm always memorized when I listen to him play? I don't find him in the greatest guitar players in the world list. He deserves to be in the top 40 best! At least! just sayin
You haven't heard him...
Jr. Brown, a great American Artist.
Wow..sounds like RawHide ! My favorite western on TV..love the sound
Best 10 minutes I have ever spent!! Incredible!
I love seeing how achieves his sounds. He uses the overtop thumb for chords. Nice. This man's technic and soulfulness is amazing.
BOY!!! Does he like to play guitar!!
Let the cowboys ride! Love ya Junior.
The man can flat-out play no doubt about it
16 seeing Jr on Austin City Limits changed my life musically.
Great technique gives him absolute freedom to do almost anything on that amazing instrument. Will be around to play a concert on Mars at this rate!
Saw him the last time at Doheny Blues Fest ... stole the show OMG!!!
Junior Brown meets Stevie Ray Vaughan... that would be cool. =)
Also look for his surf pipeline. He just kills on it.
Very cool!
Junior gets right down in it. Damn!
Nothing could be finer.!! Junior is OG Boss !!!

hats off! great musician! thanks
8:14 Junior tearing it up!
Now that is a jam!
Randy Rhoads is clapping in his grave!... Fuck yeah solos!
It's not often you hear someone shred so hard with such class. Definitely Rocks on Secret Agent Man.
...nice to hear Tanya Rae's rhythm a bit more upfront in this mix...
I miss their old drummer, so mellow!
The opening sounds more like spaghetti western music than surf. I realize they're actually closely related, though.
Ride the wild surf!!!!!Think The Surfaris,The Ventures,Dick Dale,etc.
Dick Dale brought this genre to life, the Beach Boys made it popular, Jr. explores the limits.
Junior has a great execution and versatility up and down the neck. hybrid picking, Echoes of Chuck Berry and the Moorish influences flamingo guitar. Amazing skills, and he plays with a sense of humor
Amazing talented man. Would like to see Junior Brown cover the Allman brothers, whipping post. Hail Thee Eternal Heavy!!
Perfect tunage for a snowed in day.
He is great at playing very simple guitar songs
A man at one with his instrument, love how it fights the shit outta him, and he just makes it his bitch, much respect ✊
Junior Brown - the Pee Wee Herman of Guitar. Pee Wee has the '60's Nerd Jokes and Junior has the the '60's Riff Jokes.
Got to see him back in 1995 with the Mavericks in Hampton Beach NH. Great show!
Junior has a good wife to keep him on the straight and narrow, on the right playing rythem

Bravo amigo
Plucking A, this guy can play....
Gracias Yuni tu puebla te ama
FFS single handed wiped out the Apache Nation, and a great Shadows instrumental.
That flourish with harmonics in Apache is awesome
His wife is pretty badass, too. She plays the same Gibson that I do, that I inherited from my dad. Damn, now I need to go pick up my git.
whats the names of those songs?... cool stuff
Nice. Good job! Semi Crazy is JB's greatest album. In my top ten of all time. Thanks.
