- Here is the second clip shot with my amazing Osmo 4k gimbal on a stick! I love this thing! In this clip Junior started out with some blues rippin' and worked his way through some surf tunes, that you all will recognize! If you ever get a chance, I highly recommend Junior Brown Live on stage!
Видеоклипы
I once heard him say “you walk out onto a stage wearing a hat like this, you better be able to play that guitar”
One of the all time greats that deserves a lot more recognition than he ever got. Junior Brown is the real deal.
and his wife is equally a fine musician.
Robin Trower had the same problem
where one thinks Van Halen got a glimmer
He's still alive. Just sayin.
Saw him last night (6/14/23). If you are a guitar player or love guitar music he is a must see!
You'd be hard pressed to find anyone that could do it better than Ol' Junior Brown!!!!! Way underrated musician!!
Old Junior sure has fun too!
Cant understand why this guy is not way major famous.
Junior ain't from Texas.....but he got here as quick as he could....I reckon he can stay. 👍
mopjockey57 His whole band is sick
Junior doesnt have to hang his head down or his 🎶 hat 🎶 to anyone especially to 007
I'll say it again...surf music is the most underrated American genre ever. I'm guessing JB has never paddled out, but daaaaammmnn he shreds!
Funny strange How a lounge act player in a polyester suit was one of the Best surf guitar players of all time and a Highly underrated guitar Hero. He is awesome been a fan for a long time. Love to listen to his surf medley.
Oh and the cowboy Hat is the cherry on top
To me the hat looks like he's riding a bull with style and flare to the max and I would assume it is to get him into the zone especially the suit because if you look good you feel good and if you feel good of course you play good so the shoes he is wearing maybe florishimes or Adidas LOL yes he truly rocks though
The headstock vibrato at 7:45 is mindblowing - such a seemingly simple move but so hard to incorporate into an actual song. Absurd talent.
I've been to concerts of Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, U2, Steve miller and Nirvana... and then I saw Junior Brown live in Austin ... he is awesome!
All I can say is DAMN ! Thank You J.B. ! I'm so glad I found your style You played the gambit to perfection ! Simply amazed .
Clean- intricate-soulfull-precise , there aren't enough words to describe the talent of this master , BRAVO SIR !
killer blues, awesome guitar, pretty wife, Junior Brown is a BAD ASS!
Dude looks as good as he plays...a real talent
There are thousands of good guitar players out there in music land...but only a few that will make your jaws drop....salute the one & only jr brown!!!!
This guy's musicality is off the charts.
A genuine, earthy, brilliant musician👍👍
Steve Bennett early is Ry Cooder another un respected guitarist
If someone told me they didn't like Junior Brown, I couldn't be friends with them.
EVER.
Junior Brown is a legend and I believe in the mind of any player who’s worth a $h?t or at least a student of the craft realizes Junior is skilled at a level most more know players only dream of!!
Ditto that!
yeah they have issues
The Unknown Legend
JB is ridiculous good. Watched him play with STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and he was just outrageously good.
When what wait what
@@danaplato9993 look up junior brown and STP on RUclips and you’ll see them play SOUR GIRL! On Jay Leno I believe
Thx for info - didn't find clip on YT, but it's on Facebook. (From '00 on Letterman; Junior w/ a beard plays excellent licks for "Sour Girl"). 🎶🎸
I guess I've been living under a rock... I never realized Jr. Brown had so much talent with the blues... OMG!
I first heard Junior Brown over 20 years ago. Name any guitar player out there and he is better in my opinion. It seems to me though that Junior doesn’t just play the guitar very well, he IS the guitar.
I saw him last winter in a tiny venue in Western, MA. He was awesome, he and the band hung out to sign stuff after the show. If he comes around, make the effort to see him.
Saw him in Boston at a little bar.. He blew the roof off the place.. I can't wait and hope to see him again..
2:44 How he doesn't break that first string is a miracle. Unreal playing. Incredible licks.
There's only one Junior Brown, excellent!
I remember Junior Brown playing pedal steel with Asleep at the Wheel years ago. He's such a talented guy, can play just about anything. It would be great to jam with him.
I saw Junior in a club in Melbourne, Australia, ages ago and he rocked, he's an amazing guitarist and hilarious lyricist. He was as loud as a rock band (he had two Fender Twin Reverbs blasting, he's only using one in this video) but the whole show had great volume and feel dynamics, from loud to a whisper. Kudos to his great band too.
I once opened for Junior...maybe my 'claim to fame.' don't let that cowboy hat fool you.
"don't let that cowboy hat fool you" errrm can you fill that out a little? what are you talking about
@@snoolee7950 I'd say he means Junior can play a lot more than "just Country".
@@snoolee7950 I like your name it's like a new pet name snooly yeah man I'm feeling all snooly today or like I'm here today it's me you're snooly baby
Every time he goes for the whammy it reminds me ofthat bike you had that had a bad back brakes so you had to reach back and pull the brake manually oh when you bend your foot down towards the skateboard wheel to slow down it's a little weird but it works in a pinch
I heard Junior on NPR, by accident, in 1996, never forgot. It took 5 years after that to find his cd's
hope he was on NPR by accident
I grew up listening to Junior Brown here and there from my dad playing it when we'd be out driving around.
Never knew he could get down like this until this morning, years later.. lol wow dude's a beast!!
Check out the rest of my page, there are definitely some highlights that I have captured in my 15 years following and recording him!
I agree with all the praise. He brings so many diverse personas to life with his music and if I’m not mistaken he and his wife are a duo. He’s more impressive every time I see and hear him. An artist who makes great art with his wife is a great artist.
He needs a part in a Quentin Tarantino movie Like a guitar hitman with one cool line .
YOU ARE SO RIGHT !! 👍
So it's not just me who thinks this? Cool.
Indubitably 😃
He is already a killer.

Beyond the pale...he's picked up the soul of the blues and is sending the message we get to hear where it came from and where it's going. Simply incredible! This the ever expanding universe of prodigy's that guide to new levels of love of sound and vibration.
And my huge balls.
Bugs the heel outta me that Junior doesn't get more recognition worldwide. I'm in the UK and people here are still of the opinion that players like Slash etc.. are the greatest..
Pharaoh Sneferu Exactly!👍
He's been one of my favorites for over 25 years.
Sensational guitarist! I just stumbled onto this clip by chance and I really love this sound.
Oh My God. The Man, The Myth, The Legend. Thank you RUclips.
Lordy... that is some dang fine tone.
...And that, folks, is what the words '"action" and "listen to the guitar" are all about.
Junior is a crossover...hard to please any one audience when ur that versatile.
All I can say is Junior Brown steel string badass that covers all of it definitely gives Dick Dale a run for his money.
What about Link Wray?
Saw him live in a small club on Randolph St. in Chicago (City Winery). One of the best shows I've ever seen. And I've seen a few in the last nearly 50 years!
He has such interesting licks, and really knows how to hit the sweet spots - so good it's almost scary!
You have to love junior ! The man gets right into the groove of things !
I've been a fan ever since I heard and saw the video for Highway Patrol. Rock on!!🤘🏼
Jamieson "Junior" Brown is an American country guitarist and singer. He has released twelve studio albums in his career, and has charted twice on the Billboard country singles charts. Brown's signature instrument is the "guit-steel" double neck guitar, a hybrid of electric guitar and lap steel guitar. Wikipedia
Born: June 12, 1952 (age 67 years), Cottonwood, AZ
If you were at the store standing in line between Junior Brown and Roy Orbison without their hat and glasses you could not recognize either one.
Legend period!
Had the pleasure to see him in West Texas years ago one word Dammm!!!
Best music ever and I've heard a lot.
The section with the 'Apache' cover was absolutely INSANE! Amazing!!
I now have someone to emulate, he's the best I've ever heard and I'm 69. Just a man his guitar and his amp! Wow, I'm blown away!
He is a true Genius and STILL remains a Highway phantom amongst the Greats. If I listed all the guitarist he out performs... people would send me hate mail till doomsday!!!😜🎸🤠
Light em up! Slow burn !
All covered with Jr., what a show
Wild, crazy and wonderful!!!! Junior Brown
AMAZING!!
Sounds like Albert King with a bit of Stevie thrown in!
And a whole lot of Junior!!
... add some nokie edwards and johny highland too!!
the two of them are from the same region. nobody is copying each other. they are both coming from the same place.
Dude I seriously thought the same thing!!
Yeah I feel the Stevie thing just having a note bending good time most people I know tend to gravitate towards the note bending it's mostly upbeat
❤❤❤❤❤ , My Kind Of Groove ,
And Man You doing it Right !
If I picture Junior Brown mowing the lawn, he's doing it in a suit with a cowboy hat.
...and he has a guit-steel attached to the mower's handlebars!
SOB this dude can play the guitar holly hell he is good 😊
It's been said before and I totally concur. Junior is the real deal!
After "Semi Crazy" ('96), he was voted "Guitarist of the Year" by Guitar Magazine. He's waaaaay more than that!
Would have been Flatt awesome, to have Jr. Brown, & Stevie Ray Vaughn shredding the living hell outta a live kick azz album, DVD. Hail Thee Eternal Heavy!!
Some odd years ago this guy blew my mind. Still does but he did then too.
Someone should try and reach of to him to tell him how much he is respected and loved
He does facebook live shows Wednesday's and Saturdays
Once a teacher always a teacher, he schools us!
Right on!
I saw him at the Main Street Crossing n Tomball, Texas. Amazing from top to bottom.
I've saw him twice always a outstanding show
Incredible tone and talent, always the deadliest combination
He's right up there with Tommy Emmanuel and Richard Thompson
He's the best. One of my many mistakes in life was not seeing him live in his prime. His wife, Tanya
Rae, (standing there strumming out the rhythm next to him) must have the patience of a saint. She has the endurance of a tank to be able to keep the pace on some of those songs.
Junior makes your favorite guitar player sweat!
Holy Moly Batman! (KA-POW!!!)
JUNE-YAH!
I saw ole GIT-MAESTRO here in 2017, at Sellersville Theater, Sellersville, Pa!
I was Semi-Crazy before,
full on crazy, after!
God is this baby cool!!!! That bass comes in better than any bass i ever heard on youtube. 👍😉
He's amazing & if I ever get the chance I will definitely see him there's been too many that have passed & now it may be me no more waiting
Junior is cooler than cool 😎👍
Oh man, this is exquisite!
What a great performer! Would love to see him.
Jr Brown is an addiction
This gentleman has alot of hidden blues, rock ,country , delta swing ....all under his Hat !! But, it took 40 years of on the road...he just breaks out with the Riffs from nowhere! Probably alot of practice and walking around different cuties....
FANTASTIC!!! -I LOVE THIS CAT!
This man is a master. An open heart. REjoice!!!!!!!!!1
I fell down the rabbit hole..... this is amazing !!!
Spectacular! What a musician and entertainer!
Holy Wow Stunning !!!
Great tone... and THAT guitar. :) Go Junior Go!!!!
oh hell ya!
There ain't nothing JR can't play. From get-down blues to rockin' country, this cat is ON FIRE! I would rate him as good as Michael Bloomfield--and for me to say that, have to understand, I hold Bloomfield at the top of the list of best guitarists of the century. Junior has so much talent. Just an amazing musician.
Good the Blues has crossed all generations! Dam well done Bro!! Keeps my guitar motivation goin!!!!
This is an absolute find
Fantastic!
Seen him at the Continental Club in Houston early 2000...phenomenal musician....he's been out here at Gruene Hall and I missed it...next time for sure!
Just WOW!!
I am proud of the audience
How outstanding!!!!!!!
Junior is an ICON!! top notch picker and player. I just want to note here, He mostly plays with two fingers.. First and middle fingers.. He has guge hands, so for that reason, passing whole note runs is easier for him with those two. Eric Clapton does the same thing. Those of us with "Regular" size hands, LOL, have to use forefinger and ring... Sometimes I try to use my first and middle just to feel it. I just don't have the reach... Love his playing and listen often. Too cool...
I think JB is like The Raccoon man of guitar.....A true survivalist innovator , on his own level....Thanx Mr. Brown
Robert J
Thanks for posting
You really can't go wrong with a little Texas Flood to open. Would have loved to see SRV and Junior Brown play together.
I’m going to see him in Pasadena, Ca. In a few weeks. 😀😀😀
Now thats some rip roaring whaling blues if I ever heard some! WOWZA
