I saw him and his band in Austin in summer 2016. Seeing and hearing him do magic in a club with standing room only. He was playing through a Fender Twin Reverb. Cranked to about eleven. Dust was coming off the brick walls. Best concert I ever saw. After the show I shook his hand, and he called me sir. I laughed, because I felt like a little kid meeting one of my guitar heroes...
I once opened for Junior. My claim to fame! He got off his tour bus to check out our group. The club manager said he'd never seen him do that... made me feel good.
@@SDPBALLCOACH 'Pull my Finger' (Sounds like a punk band, but we were a jazz band. I think that's what piqued his interest. His drummer, a jazz player too, complimented us after our set. He played a snare and a ride cymbal...period. But he made tons of music with that severely abbreviated set.)
That's way cool. Guys like this are priceless.. I got my dad's 100 yr. Old Gibson Mandolin, I need to find a guy who'll give me lessons. I really wanna "get after it" on that thing!!😉
Completely agree. I first saw him about 20 years ago and I swear, I went through every single emotion in the first 10 minutes of him playing. I was absolutley floored. Many will say they've heard the name, but they don't know. Glad to see he is still in fine style.
Heard his rig was stolen and there was a replica at a Hard Rock Cafe , and they let him have it to continue on his tour, , There are guitar players and then there is Junior Brown and the Best Rhythm Guitar Player known as Tanya Rae Brown!!!
I never did hear if it was recovered, saw 3-4 videos he did last year with the borrowed one and he mentioned that he was waiting on two new replacement guitsteels being built.
I saw JB at a dinner theater in Dana Point in the early 2000s. He had 2 dimed Silverface Twins, wrapped in sound blankets (small venue). There was a drunk woman near the stage who kept passing him notes (requests, whatever). At one point he read the note which said "UNWRAP YOUR AMPS." Junior said in his inimitable manner "Ma'am, these amps are wrapped for your protection!"
Love his style. Seen him at Bumbershoot in the 90's. Just walking by heard some wild guitar, looked over, seen this retro looking dude on fire. Fan since.
I saw him at the beginning of September opening for Old Crow Medicine Show and he was using a walker to come out saying that he had broken a hip pretty recently. At the end of the show he carried the walker off over his head so hopefully he's recovering well and has a lot of great shows ahead of him. I'd never heard of him before and was very impressed, he made a new fan that night for sure.
Still goes to show that it’s talent and dedication that matters not big lighting, costumes and explosions. At the end I couldn’t believe nearly 10 minutes had passed!
I've been in the same band since 2004. Work regular, few lineup Changes over the years. Me, singer, bass player stuck fat over time. That little look to the left and right by boss man to finish up is so intuitive. But God 3 minutes into a song and we're all looking at him like puppies waiting for that look. Met/saw junior 2004 Melbourne Australia. At the top of his game. G3 were also in town. He could have sat in
What a great talent and showman . Let us not forget his band they do so much to back Junior . He could hire anybody to fill those much needed spots . His wife just strums away to all the mad bending string tweeking husband . I got to see Junior one year at the Fox Theater in St. Louis , I got my money's worth to see him weil away on the guit - steel . 08/05/2022
Hey Van Halen will be proud to jam with this man he was very great and very underrated he is a master at surf music eddie and Junior would have sounded great together
SCIENCE!!! 👨🔬Wow. What can you say? He blinded me with science. I grew up with surf music. I love surf music. This was just an absolutely incredible performance. 🧙🏽♂️ Maybe I am semi crazy...
SECRET AGEING MAN.....Hell, I like to think I am getting Better...not Older.....I am a Kid still...but I love this and Hats off to these fine people !!
Observation: Edwardsville, Il? It is the wildest party college bar none. Yet no crowd noise? Strange as it's hardly the south by any means. FWIW no student has ever graduated SIU.

Wow, now THAT'S a Red Letter Day 🙂
Very cool
What was your bands name??

I really wanna "get after it" on that thing!!😉
He just casually kills it. EVERY TIME. And don't overlook his rhythm guitar player.
For those that don't know that is Mrs. Brown
wifey.
Great! His wife is a great addition to his band.
Tanya Rae holds it all together while Junior goes to infinity and beyond! She could teach a clock how to stay on time!
Gitsteel baby..Junior Brown never disappoints..you wanna talk under rated this man is legit.
You can barely see it in the video, but Junior performed that entire medley atop a surfboard in a lap pool. He's a national treasure.
that ain't no joke
Not bad
His wife however, played ten minutes of rhythm holding her breath, under water, holding both Junior and his surfboard up so he didn’t drown.
The man’s got style!
JR is on my bucket list. A must sea, a must C, a must see. Honey hand me a dementia pill.
One of the great players that not enough is known about. I’ve been listening to Junior for over 25 years!
✌️😎🎸🎶🎵🎶
Love them! One of my favorites is Highway Patrol 🚓

Saw him and his band about 25 years ago at the Black Swamp Arts Fest in Bowling Green, Ohio. Good show.
He does those surf songs so much justice. Fantastic.
I love this guy, such a creative talent, killer style, sense of humor, rhythmic and melodic prowess, fantastic entertainer.
Roy Clark , Junior Browne. Billy string all were and are masters of those strings.. LOVE THOSE OLD SONGS FROM THE VENTURES.
Junior Brown is the GOAT! One of my all-time favorites!!
Probably one of the BEST pickers on the planet
I love the California surf sound. I'd say he has it mastered. He always has a suit and the cowboy hat. I'd love to see him live.
You just don't see many suit & tie wearing surf bands.
an underrated musician great guitar player saw him a few years back and it was a fantastic show.
Never been to a show, but this my second time pulling up a video... Dude's got style.
Junior Brown unsung guitar genius! Thank you so much!
He is the last of the great Guitar players. Never get tired of this lost art of music that Jr.Brown plays.

I’ve seen him live several times. He starts off too loud, and the whole show is a crescendo from there. He’s on a mission to find “13” on his amps…
🤣🤣🤣
@@ryanclark6402 no conversation needed when you are deaf. I saw his wife crack a tiny smile when he said goodnight.
Love his style. Seen him at Bumbershoot in the 90's. Just walking by heard some wild guitar, looked over, seen this retro looking dude on fire. Fan since.
He pulls on the back of the bridge just like I do. Hate whammy bars.
Great guitarist! How cool if Eddie were still alive, to have the two jam together.
One of the craziest guitar rigs I’ve ever seen. It’s stationary and he just walks right up to it and kills it. Wow!
For those that don't know he is also the inventor of the guit-steel.
Doesn’t he call it a biscuit board or something?
I was first turned on to Junior by a very nerdy woman I knew from work. I listened to be polite, and oculd never stop. He's a miracle
He is a national treasure. My favorite video is with 4 of the original beach boys 409. Best version ever. Even the beach boys loved it
The one and only. Love that surf sound.
Honestly, maybe the GOAT with just an amp and guitar(s)... versatile, consistent and great tone along with mind-blowing technique
Met Junior Brown & wife Tanya backstage years ago in NYC at "Tramps"...talked ike we were old friends...he's the real deal😎
One of my favorite live performers ! So very unique !
Junior is one of the best! Saw him years ago hope to see him again
This is the first time that I have seen of Junior Brown in a long time. I remember him from way back with "Highway Patrol". He still sounds great.
God I love this. Sounds like old western cowboys jamming with North African Sufi mystics.
This is the first thing I’ve seen in awhile. Glad he’s still performing!
Love it! This man just strolled through the genres like he wrote them all! Maybe he did... And look at those hands, such beautiful fingers.
Sounds about as authentic as possible. Ready to head out to the Pipeline.
This dude is so American bad ass.
He's one of one for sure!!
Jr is the epitomy of cool always was and always will be ,cause he's the (Highway Patrol) so cool thanks Jr and company peace
The cowboy hat really threw me off but...man, he's great! Classic tunes from my early teens, loved it thanks!
Reminds me of when I saw Dick Dale. Timeless!
I had no idea he played there. I saw them in St. Louis but not at Wildey.. I cant believe I missed it!
Greatest guitarist of all time! bar none!
At least runner up. And he is funny too!
Yeah................just like "bill dance" is the greatest fisherman/youtube commentor/greatest guitarist naming guy.😉
Glad to see Junior Brown back on his feet.
I saw him in 2019 and he wasn't looking healthy.
I saw him at the beginning of September opening for Old Crow Medicine Show and he was using a walker to come out saying that he had broken a hip pretty recently. At the end of the show he carried the walker off over his head so hopefully he's recovering well and has a lot of great shows ahead of him. The man, the legend.
Amazing how he designed that instrument
Love the “Wind Cries Mary” riff!!!!!
Third Stone from the Sun..”So to you I wish to put an end
And you'll never hear surf music again” Guessing that’s why he dropped in the Jimi 🤔
Man he’s excellent the tone is bad ass.
When you first see the guy’s hat, you call bs…When he’s finished you are like, where do I get a hat like that 👍
JR. Your the man! So glad I got to see you live yrs ago. A totally unique experience to be sure.
wildman... ✌️🤠 in a cowboy hat
te amo Junior Brown
Did get to see him LIVE a few years back at Saturday In The Park here in Sioux City Iowa! The man is the greatest! Even have a signed photo!
Man is a beast! Any style any technique
Always loved that guy! Careful you don't get stopped by the highway patrol !
Damn Junior. Flexing that bridge with his fingertips for tremolo. Wicked.
Man that was AWESOME!! Kind of reminds me of Roy Clark, but better!
Still goes to show that it’s talent and dedication that matters not big lighting, costumes and explosions. At the end I couldn’t believe nearly 10 minutes had passed!
A true innovator in the art off guitsteel. A genius.

Amazing
The last thing I would have expected
From a guy wearing a cowboy hat
Loved it
The man is still KING!
Glad to see he is still out there!
Secret aging man, still has it.
What a force! Go old man!
Perfect playing of these songs. Great technical work.
Junior still got it.
Loved it! Great clip! ❤️
His right hand technique is phenomenal,,!
First time I’ve seen his new rig. I don’t suppose they ever found the other one.
SCIENCE!!! 👨🔬Wow. What can you say? He blinded me with science. I grew up with surf music. I love surf music. This was just an absolutely incredible performance. 🧙🏽♂️ Maybe I am semi crazy...
U are not crazy he plays with great tone he doesn't hide behind distortion
I grew up in the hot bed of surf music, So. Cal. Never heard of him before, but he definitely has the vibe. Enjoyed immensely.
Simply amazing
He is so underated what the hell this dude sould be top dude
don't dump on me but, i've seen him play better than this many times. always love this man.
SECRET AGEING MAN.....Hell, I like to think I am getting Better...not Older.....I am a Kid still...but I love this and Hats off to these fine people !!
Incredibly so damn great.
Junior could play awesome work
Eddie and Junior Are probably playing in heaven together great guitarist he's gone the world will miss them both
Another guitar players guitarist... Glad he is still at it...
Caught ol' Jr. in NYC late 90s - best part was Buddy Miles playing drums.
Observation: Edwardsville, Il? It is the wildest party college bar none. Yet no crowd noise? Strange as it's hardly the south by any means. FWIW no student has ever graduated SIU.
Have seen him a couple times he is great.
Thank you
Junior Rocks!!!
30 years ago Sunday nights at the Continental in ATX. Miss Tanya had to drag him off stage. Good times.
Excelente video saludos desde Costa Rica 🇨🇷 pura vida 🤟
this is GOLD
Boy does that bring back memories. Too bad kids today don’t have this kind of talent around, just that canned rap crap.
The heartbeat of Pulp Fiction
He was in the episode "Drive" of the X-Files too
I feel like Mr. Bungle got a bunch of influence from this dude... Awesome. 🤘
live from the Black Lodge - Special Agent Dale Cooper on the drums
That is a great job. Thank you for sharing.
looks like JB got a new guit steel
Legennnndddd
Epic,as usual
Like the Hendrix and Secret agent man licks he threw in.
Used to go see him at the Continental Club in Austin in the 90's always a lot of fun.
The man in the taco shell hat can play!!!!!
All I need is some cool buds and tasty waves and I'll be fine. Jeff Spicoli Genius.
Jr and Mrs Brown... GREAT
AWESOME 😎😎😎
