He didn't need to be a comedian, he's gifted in music. He didn't need to be a musician, he's gifted in comedy
Netflix needs to give this guy a special.
dumaskhan 6 months and we’re still waiting
He's already released 7 specials...
I would be okay if Netflix gave him all the specials.
You do know there are other sources of audio-visual entertainment than Netflix right ?
Yeah Bill is funny in a kind way -Netflixs could use more of that
Frenchman here. In Paris one of our most modern and high-tech tramways that looks like a spaceship designed by Starck... announces its stops with accordion music. Yeah, that's who we are. Now excuse me while I go eat some frog legs.

That is absolutely fantastic, Monsieur.
He is gifted with perfect pitch and went to the royal academy of music and I am so glad he does this rather than being a straight up musician
Where did you read he went to the Royal Academy of Music? He has an associate diploma from the London College of music. I can't find any reference to the Royal Academy in articles about him eg Wikipedia.
@@PreservationEnthusiast pretty sure he said this on dessert island discs or similar could be my mind playing tricks on real place he does have perfect pitch though play him a note he can name it
@@rasitawinner8203 Correct, he does have perfect pitch. He can also sing any note you care to name, or sing in that key. It's pretty rare. Best musical comedian out there!

I knew Bill was a clever and funny chap, but to blend in a Jamaican Dub 'riddim' with the Downton Abbey theme tune in such a comedic way takes a special talent, he really is a gifted entertainer.

Sorry, he actually said:
Gimme my Lobster man, Me know I'm no AaaaaaaSssssParagus!
'GIMME LOBSSTER x meeee nooo it was a buillion spoon x
Bill has this ability to seem whimsical and utterly bewildered by it all while nailing truly phenomenal piano and intellectual jokes.
I love how all the quotes in the song are taken straight from the show, and they're not even from particularly grand or memorable moments, definitely shows he's a fan of the show, or at least watched it
Does that include the "aaayyyyy rasta" part?
I watched this clip years ago and have always loved it. I’ve just started watching downton and when Carson said bullion spoon I shot here to rewatch this 😂 it’s even funnier now I get all the references
Knighthood for Bill Bailey he is such a role model and a great entertainer, what a talent
Yes!!!!
Very well said. He's incredibly talented, bringing joy to a huge amount of people. But he won't get it, who will get one is someone whose monthly bonus far outstrips most people's yearly pay, who can also buy (Ahem!!!) his Knighthood!!
So happy he won strictly come dancing, he's so funny and lovely in real life!! He deserves all the love he gets! 😁
I agree, I get that it's a show about dancing, but it's also about *entertainment* and he sure brought that!
WHAT?!?!?! I live in the States and was NOT aware of this!!! I'm a huge Bill Bailey fan, huge dance fan, and have a celeb crush on Bill. So my brain might explode if I try to find this! 😂😂😂🙄😮
Guy is a genius to sit at home composing all this for a few seconds of laughter on stage & with not a swear word uttered. A Genius.
As a keyboard player, I admire how much he is physically doing, making it appear effortless. Especially that mean echo that he presses.
This is absolutely amazing. He definitely is one of your National Treasures Britain 🇬🇧. What a skill and talent this man’s got. Loved it!!!
He's an international treasure
The bald man with the long hair
It hangs down his back like a shower curtain
Or like a cape
Thing is he has been sporting that style for what must be 30 years now!
More like a bowling ball wearing a hula skirt
You been watching Graham Norton ?
When I saw him do this live I swear to the Gods, I was CRYING and my jaw muscles were literally aching from the laughter. The guy is a bloody genius. A true British gem!✨
The way he weaves music into his act is brilliant.
His act is centred around music. He is a musician first and foremost, and it is this talent which commands the greatest respect.
Music IS his act..!

Hi
Look up Victor Borge...the original

0:55 The French tune is _Sous Le Ciel de Paris ("Under the Skies of Paris")_ by Hubert Giraud (music) and Jean Dréjac (lyrics). It's originally from the soundtrack of the movie of the same name, _Sous Le Ciel de Paris_ (1951).
When I was walking around Paris, I thought, wouldn't it be lovely to hear the accordion. As we crossed the Seine, a man was playing this on an accordion. It encapsulated Paris for me. 🇫🇷
I recently saw a poster for a village film club, advertising their showing of the "Downton Abbey" film, and all I could think was "Me knew it was a bouillon spoon!"

Ironic that he has to perform underneath that name, a million times more talented than McIntyre could ever hope to be.
appreciated, but the difference is clear-cut in this case.

I don't like McIntyre but anyone who can make £21 million pound a year after tax must have some talent. If he's untalented I wish I had his non-talent and his income.

Thanks for your support and encouragement towards me and my career🌹. I am captivated 🙂
The programming, mixing, comedy, and the in-depth research; rehearsing and savoring the culture and style of the Jamaican dub played in Britain, was pure genius. It's execution and fruition was exhilarating. This artist had made the most of his musical and comedic prowess, by mixing them together. This is interesting. He knows his musical limits -- but creates a skill contributing to the demolition of the boundaries.

Bill Bailey has been a top British comic for many many years. He is the kind of comic that makes me laugh without saying a word, his mannerisms and facial expressions crack me up.
Brilliant! Id watch an entire concert of him making reggae/dub versions of any music!
What about a reggae/dub version of Slayer-Raining blood?
“Have you done something jolly with your hair?”
- Sir Anthony Strallan 😂😂😂
The existence of Bill Bailey is a prolonged and bottomless source of contentment for me.
This video lives rent-free in my head...Bill Bailey is a total legend 🙌 👏
'Have you done something jolly with your hair?' Me, on the floor laughing.... :)
Somewhat off topic but you're referring to Sir Anthony Strallan? That particular character gave me the creeps.
This is why the UK rocks. So many talented people performing their art.
Love the UK Union.
One of our best comedians.
Today I found Bill Bailey, its a good day =)
Superstar on Strictly!!!!
A whole new host of fans I hope.
Well done Bill!! We are rootin for yer!!
My favorite comedian ever. Creative as hell and doesnt need to tare people apart to get a laugh.
I prefer the reggae version of the *"Downton Abbey"* theme. Sound like a King Tubby dub!
King tubby dub, thanks for that.
yeah!!! "Downtown Abbey: the mistery of butler's ganja"
Augustus Pablo I would say.
What did God do to the wiring in this man’s head? The sheer wit and talent.
Not only is he hilarious but he’s an incredibly talented musician. Double bonus.
Downton Abbey is such a strange phenomenon because as someone who watches alot of British TV, it's not very different from any other period piece ITV/BBC has done before and yet by far it has the biggest international following
"Glaciers shootin' past the window." I LOL'd. :)
Bill Bailey just keeps getting better and better. I've always wanted him to do a Reggae special
Love him! What an utterly kind and thoughtful man he is! Much respect Bill. ✌🏼
Words cannot express how much I love this man and what he does
I watched this before and I enjoyed it. Not that I have watched at least 4 seasons of Downton Abbey, I understand it better. Especially the "bullion spoon" bit
The French siren part of this is pure gold.
He is always so original, he was an instant national treasure!, I would be happy for them to use the Jamaican version on the show
Brilliant! An absolute masterpiece of comedy. I am from Africa and I can't understand Michael's comedy or references (different culture I suppose) but this, notwithstanding, I totally get.
I love his little chuckles during his sketch - he seems to be thoroughly enjoying himself!
He's such a gifted musician/comedian - what he does with sound, melodies and gags always amazes me. Bill Bailey - Victor Borge - Harpo Marx - (Liberace?) - deserve their own niche.
Love love Bill bailey ..... Mrs queen he should be on top of your new years honours list for services to entertainment. He makes you laugh even when your having a crap day. Sir Bill Bailey sound good.

Good thing about Bill Bayley is he does'nt need to rely on bad language to give everyone a laugh.
Nobody relies on bad language but nowt wrong with swearing.
Fuck those twats who need to shitting swear all the cunting time. Ballsack.
Are you ignoring the fact that he secretly added a little swear word in his Reggae?
ASS-paragus.. Hehe.
@CrystalCritter
"I know thousands of words but I still prefer 'fuck'." - Billy Connolly.
Swear words do put emphasis (depending on how you use them) and have evolved to become part of everyday language for hundreds of years. Thinking people swear to shock people and be egdgy or whatever isn't that much of the case with comics anymore. That idea is from a more puritan 1950's TV family outlook, which is a bunch of cunty nonsense, in my opinion. I swear because that's naturally how I talk (as do most people from my area) but I can be eloquent when I want to be. I wouldn't consider myself witless or think I've got a lazy mind. That idea doesn't really have any clout behind it. Generally the opposite is found to be true.
I'm sorry some of us just have a broader vocabulary.
I saw him live 30 odd years ago , he hasn’t changed one bit
This is brilliant!...I've already watched this video clip a few times and the moment that the heavy bassline kicks in it just takes off into the stratosphere...very well done.

what a masterpiece from start to the end, havent been a fan of the man, but boy-oh-boy mr Bill can make music. And the funniest thing is that have been listening quite some Dub at the days, but this mix almost exceeds all the lot. 6 stars. out of 5.
I've liked BB since I first seen him and he doesn't seem to fade away. Like so many performers, they have a moment in the spotlight but then seem to go downhill. He just keeps producing top class stuff. Can't honestly remember when I first saw him, but it was before he was in Black Books, which was excellent. I've never seen him do anything that wasn't good.
Me too.
