It's been 13 years since I first started watching this video! It was also not only the first SMW ROM hack video, but the first actually Super Mario World related video I ever watched! Man, those were the good ol' days. : )
I love the idea of making your own platform to run across. Dude, that looks tough! Nice job. It would take me a lot of practice to do some of those feats. It's also cool someone else had my idea of using ramps and jumping from wall to wall..
I remember coming home from school as a kid and my parents surprised me with a super nintendo and super mario world. One of my best childhood memories!
Very nice work. Most hacks try to just be as hard as possible. You did a nice job of making it harder than the original, but still fun to play. The tips were in perfect places, and the secrets (like the 3-up moon) were awesome. We need to have more hacks like this one.
It's amazing Miyamoto & company not only made such great games, but that it is possible to play thru them much faster than u'd ever conceive as a kid. The timing of the enimies is awesome.
I love everything MARIO...I have learned so much from watching this, you are so highly skilled. I like how the enemies can be different in various versions of the same game....
Nice level design! I like the signs explaining explaining certain hints. And to those who aren't aware, a tool-assisted run means that this was not done at full speed in one run, as it appears. What's really impressive here is the design of the hack.
Good Lord! Watching this made me nervous man! Tool assisted or not, that ish is sick! And I thought parts of the real game were hard...this redefines difficult.
This is an exceptionally clean romhack. Most of the ones I've seen are quite sloppy and, to be blunt, an eyesore. This romhack also doesn't seem to be impossibly difficult, but also keeps the gameplay very challenging. If I play a Mario romhack in the future, I shall certainly play this one. Level design is great, too. Kudos!
This looks like one of the more clever of the tough-muncher-everywhere/crazy jumps style of ROM hacks. Personally, I don't think I'd have much fun playing this, but it is fantastic to watch.
oh my god, my childhood!!!! i used to be anle to play this just like you, i was on it all the time! but then resident evil 2 came along in 1998. however i may dig out my 20 year old super nintendo and start again with this!
Its a tool-assisted video. The emulator can record you playing with the save states, meaning every time you load the state, the recording resets to the place where you originally saved the state. You can also use slowdowns and it will record it at regular speed.
i saw some of those videos and it reminded me when i was 6 years old and i gone to my warehouse to find my super nintendo :P i founded and i started playing it :) its the best game :P
This is a hack of the game, made by the poster. this IS real, but not in the released game, or any ROMs of it you can find. he made it using a program using Luner Magic and designed the levels himself.
It definitely is... I'm lping this hack atm and so far its 18 parts I believe? I'm at Newton's First Law, and so far this hack is at least 10 times as hard as kaizo. Try this hack out, you'll be surprised at what parts are harder than they look at vice versa.
You're amazing! You must've had so much practice, although quite a few of those jumps made me go to the edge of my seat!
This has to be the second most difficult romhack I have ever seen.
Great job, Maxxim. Not many hax can contend with Kaizo.

I think the music in this game is better than any other. It suits the style of the game so well and remains catchy after, what?... 20 years!

The bit with invisible blocks on level 2 is genius.

OMG I won't ever be able to play like this.... seems you've always done it since you were born!!!! :O
This is more suspenseful than an M. Night. Shyamalan movie.
Insane game play. I kept waiting for this guy to mess up, but he didn't. Amazing.

You have Incredible skills.....I refer back to this for inspiration and then back to my game! I call this one "SKULL BOATS" LOL
El patron en que juega este chico es impresionante!
Very clever level design, and great skill. Thumbs up mate!
I literally sat through that whole thing with my mouth open in awe!!!!

damn bro i literally stood and watched this speechless, I am impressed
If this video isn't a montage, Maxxim202 is an alien came to earth to destroy humanity.
This game brings back soooooo much memories.......

so much nostalgia, this game was all i played during my childhood
Awesome level designs.
Człowieku jesteś mistrzem!! To jest piękne:D pozdro
Holy shit. It doesn't matter if you're playing your own romhack, that is some crazy game playing.
super mario world was without a doubt the best and most fun side scrolling game of all time

WTF!!! You're the best player I 've ever seeeen!!!!
Great game....
@tudey5 its a rom hack made in Lunar Magic, a utility for making smw levels. If you have an emulator you can find this rom by using google
OMG WTF!
What a valuable player... Respect, man!
This vid brings back memories!
brings back old memories of my times playing this game when i was little
I would've loved Super Mario World to have that wall running part. That was great.
wow! Man i'm impressed! Your a really really good player.

Fantastic playing man

I used to play this game all the time in 1992, this game is bad ass!
i saw some of those videos and it reminded me when i was 6 years old and i gone to my warehouse to find my super nintendo :P i founded and i started playing it :) its the best game :P
wicked video but you mind if i ask you a Question how do you customize the over world map i can't figure it out thanks
If it's possible for a game to be too good SMW is just that, all these years later and I still get urges to play this game.
This is a hack of the game, made by the poster. this IS real, but not in the released game, or any ROMs of it you can find. he made it using a program using Luner Magic and designed the levels himself.
wow.. man your way to play is amazing O.oU
By far my favorite Mario game ever!
@SuperCartiel It's a software to edit "Mario World" to your liking.
@JWAFFEL its not exactly possible, its a TAS run meaning they can do stuff they normally couldnt... but stil kick ass compared to other TAS's
That last level of the video. omg at one point i just couldn't watch. I'll be a nervous wreck by the time i get to the end of these videos.
@redkingrd i could be wrong, but i think he is using save-states... if not major props to him!
youre an animal at this game holy shit!! props man props!!
It definetely is. The first three worlds were easy for me. But the special world was like mad hard, especially Mazes are Fun.
This is art
@TheBallah93 i agree, there will never be a side scroller that perfect again.
I don't understand how someone could dislike this
the music for this game should win a Grammy
simply brilliant...
epic but one level 2 ur fired y did you go the long way insteda of jumping on the hidden coin block stright away?
pretty nice twist with the hidden blocks you use to walk back. but the difficulty is insane. fun to watch though
Very cool. Definitely used slow down to make this so flawless though.
It's in the discription box. Remember to have an unmodified ROM of SMW and an IPS patcher
Woow sin palabras... You are the best
It definitely is... I'm lping this hack atm and so far its 18 parts I believe? I'm at Newton's First Law, and so far this hack is at least 10 times as hard as kaizo. Try this hack out, you'll be surprised at what parts are harder than they look at vice versa.
Holy crap dude, you're good.
I doubt you played through each level without stopping or saving. At 2:45, you hear that the sound is cut out. You probably saved from time to time.
You must be the chosen one, your legendary! Ancient italians painted u in a prophecy thousands of yrs ago lol
I hated those levels, I found mario games quite frustrating at times but definitely a masterpiece
This was incredible. You deserve to have a parade thrown in your honor.
Dayum i would have mistaked you for the guy or girl who made up the mario game cuz you now it so well your fucken good at this keep it up :)
OMG! Was Mario walking on air at the end?
Supposing you mean the jump right before that, he hardly jumped forward in the first place, leaving that perfectly possible.
Not nearly kaizo difficulty, but looks like a very difficult and fun hack.
Good job =)
Best super nintendo game ever Super Mario World.
I remember playing this game and I actually thought I was good at it until I watched this. I don't even remember those levels. o_0
@koopaling100 He more than likely practiced the stages way to often, + i know it takes awhiel to get the hang of that kind of flying.
this game is a true classic
aaaaagh I forgot how much of this game is blind jumps. now I wanna break it out and play it again!
2009 anyone?
mauropso right here bro 🙋♂️
Are there any SMW hacks out there that are actually playable? Like something similar to the regular game but with unfamiliar stages?
