- It is a little later than I wanted, but man, does it feel good to finally have this video out the door. This thing has been in the works for months, and had to be scrapped for 24.5 and made all over again with new builds. Now that it is finally done, I can make whatever I want. I'M FREE HAHA!
Forgive the audio in the first half, I recorded this video in a new place, and hadn't really nailed the audio mixing yet. I did my best to make it sound OK.

Ive been playing the game for about 2 months, and have played every killer enough to prestiege them, and out of all of them Oni was the most unbearably difficult to use. Turns out alllll it took was you saying "dont hold w when using his ability" and now i love him XD. This whoole time i could never turn when using his ability alllll because i always held W, who woulda thought
Wow. After my friend told me: I had Oni on mobile it is complete trash. I refused to buy him until I saw some tier list videos and saw him pretty high (you should do tier list video too) I decided to buy him. I was looking for some basic guide and you showed me how to play him really. I have so far played like 10 matches with him a I enjoy him so much. I am complete beginner I have got like 200 h on killers but you have helped me so much to learn him. Right now I am planing to buy Cenobite and than Artist to complete my bulid. I just wanted to say that you helped me lot and I am glad for it. I am planning to watch all your upcoming videos. You are so amazing. ❤️

Great video! I've been interested in oni but nervous about playing him wrong. Thanks for the info and time you put into this video. I'd live to see a similar series for other killers if that's something you would want to do. Either way subscribed and can't wait for what you upload next.
Been getting so much value from surveillance lately, tried it with oppression and pain resonance, very underrated perk

I'm on a roll with Oni lately.
Except for the occasionnal stack/map that gets me sometimes... I'd say its hands down my main now.
I started as killer with Stalker, went to Oni a little... prestiged trapper outta nowhere and dabbled a bit with knight.
While I have more time on trapper... its only because I wanted some of his perks on other killers for fun :)
I recently started maining oni, and it’s a lot of fun… unless the survivors know that they’re doing. I always feel so weak when I use my power because they know how to counter it. I main trapper most times I play killer and I get 3+ kills each game most of the time. I’m very demotivated to learn oni since he’s so much more complex than trapper. My question for you is, how long did it take for you to learn how to play oni efficiently? I don’t have a problem getting the first hits, cause I’ve got like 1,300 hours but his power is very hard to control in my opinion. Anyways great video and keep making oni vids!
Well the good news is that playing Trapper translates pretty well to the most important part of playing Oni, since without your power Oni is a very bare bones killer, like playing Trapper on a loop that you haven't trapped yet. Like you said, the first hit is very important. I have a How to Play Oni Guide on this channel as well, that I would recommend checking out if you haven't already. I also recommend Scott Jund's guide.
As for your question, I'm a visual learner so it really only took a dozen or so games and watching about as many videos to learn Oni's power decently well. From there, it is just refining the playstyle by playing more and more by putting the time in. I still mess up with Oni's power quite a bit, but it definitely takes practice.
@@skrightgames5573 ohhh okay. Yes I've got the basic M1 killer strategy down, it's just his power that messes me up. I've watched your tutorial on how to play Oni so I'll check the other channel video out. You earned yourself a sub :)
i played 5-6 games and i was struglle a lot with oni until i understand 1 thing (not like i am mega PRO now) -dont hold W,damn what a difference

What other 2 perks would you recommend if I'm using M&A/Infectious? I've been using BBQ and Shattered Hope/Corrupt but I'm not sure if it's the best I could be using (I was using Pain Res/Gift of Pain but I found it hard to snowball without BBQ info if survivors split up)
I would say definitely two slowdown perks. With the current meta changes, I would say Pain Resonance and Dead Man's Switch is a solid combo option. Another great setup for it would probably be Deadlock and No Way Out. Gift of Pain is also very powerful for Oni, and I would probably run either No Way Out or Pain Resonance with it.
U will not recommend corrupt in any build? Bcoz sometimes first hit is getting difficult early game
Currently i use Corrupt, brine, overcharge and tinkerer on oni
What do think about a build with Lethal Pursuer, Hex: Undying, Fire Up, & Tinkerer? Definitely wouldn't be OP by any means but wouldn't be awful I imagine.

@@Goza12 I think at the time I posted this I didn't realize Undying doesn't benefit from LP, but Undying would still show you where a survivor is anytime they got near a totem. Again, this isn't even close to OP and likely a fairly weak build but can be a bit of fun.

I'm gonna get a lotta questions when I say my build is fearmonger, infectious fright, sloppy, and thanatophobia. I personally choose not to use hex's or direct gen slowdowns because I rather focus on corralling people into 3 gens while keeping them off by forcing them to run and heal. I use blood orbs in order to track general areas and then I pick from there. It's fun because I can chain kills because of infectious fright and it lets me decide if I want to narrow down locations and hook, or if I want to pursue going for the 4k/3k downs. Fearmonger's so strong for chases and whenever im going for demon dash

Surprised you don't have at least brutal strength on any of these builds good teams won't even let you get a first hit.
I'll have to try Brutal Strength again, I tested it before 24.5. Tt just feels like a waste since it doesn't work with your power and they already made pallet breaking and gen kicking 10% faster. I don't have trouble getting first hits unless the survivors are gods though.
@@skrightgames5573 I suppose in public games you probably don’t need it but if you ever get cowshed or coal tower against a good team without brutal you’re probably not getting your first hit until all the gens are done

Didn't watch the whole thing so far, just the first two seasons and the end of the manga. The Armored Titan Oni skin is really nice though:)
