    Yesterday was a nightmare on this line, every train was about an hour to 2 hours late since a tornado hit Mansfield about a mile south of I-495 and downed a bunch of the catenary.

    Awesome video! This helped reaffirm that I got the signal scripting for TSW: Boston to Providence correct.
    1. Restricting at Cove signal 2E when a train is stopped between the end of Cove and Tower 1.
    2. Stop and Proceed at the Cove distant signal when a train is stopped at Back Bay.
    3. Restricting at Plains when a train is between the east limits of Plains and the Cove distant signal.
    4. Approach at Forest when Plains is at Restricting.
    5. The Advance Approach > Approach > Stop and Proceed progression between Sharon and Canton Junction.
    6. Restricting at Lawn when a train is between the east limits of Lawn and the Hebronville distant signal.
    7. Approach at Pawtucket when Lawn is at Restricting.

      @@TrainBrain2000 oh interesting I never knew a “dead” section existed

    • @cActUsjUiCe92
      @cActUsjUiCe92 Год назад +4

      The reason they do this is because the two power providers may not be providing power completely in-phase with each other. To eliminate the possibility of issues, the railroad introduces a section of catenary with no power (dead section, neutral section, phase break, etc). Then the each power provider supplies their power to one side of the dead section. Like @TrainBrain2000 said, you have to open the Main Circuit Breaker (MCB) when operating through such an area because attempting to draw current from a portion of catenary that's not energized can result in damage.

    200 km/h isn't "high speed rail".
    According to UIC, high speed is over 220 km/h. 200 is Just a normal speed for a rapid ligne in civilized countries (who use the metric system, not outdated medieval units) with modern Railways 😏
