I've seen pieces of this show for years but never got into it. I've been watching these eps for the past three days and now I understand why the show was popular especially after the first wife past away. I'm a bigger fan of Danny Thomas now more than ever.
Me too. I've only seen these shows here and there. This is far far better than l Love Lucy. Which was on at about the same time. But not on reruns as often.

The best show ever
Angela Cartwright was cast as Linda when the show moved to CBS the following season.
The following season, when the series moved from ABC to CBS, "Patty" {Le Lani Sorenson} became "Linda" {Angela Cartwright}.
I saw it this morning. I can see why the little girl is a scene stealer. Linda was a great character and both actresses were good.
I miss these yep of TV shows, they were the best!
I'm amazed that in this episode Kathy's daughter was not Angela Cartwright.
In real life kids didn't have such a smart mouth.
This was just TV.
This is the truth, those children on "Leave It To Beaver" didn't dare speak to Ward and June the way Rusty quipped snarkly to Danny . . .

I checked and it costs $8M a DAY to operate St Jude's hospital and they never send a bill to families insurance companies.

Great commentary on "progressive" schools vs traditional family values. OF course Danny greatly exaggerated the hairbrushing of neighborhood he grew up in, and I don't believe in hitting either, but if you go "progressive" you get master manipulator kids running the show. And we're seeing THAT all over the country now after decades of that in the public schools & colleges, and for decades they've been graduated & put in government, hence the collapse we're in as a country.
Does anybody know what that pin is on Danny's left lapel suits?

I like Angela Cartwright as Linda. And after Kathy and Danny got married she was in Kindergarten, not Grade One.

Season 5 as back then the seasons went 36 weeks I think. Show changed to cbs a few eps later then guest on Lucy and Desi show sometime.
I love how much Danny loves children. Its authenticity shines through in all episodes ❤
P.S. I can’t stand Linda’s character in this episode. I wanna slap her upside the head.

When Angela came along, Danny *knew* she could be a scene stealer- AND be "cute" at the same time. That's something Le Lani did *not* have going for her.
Agree, Angela had much more charisma.
What happened to the wife and other daughter?
I think that his first wife played by Jean Hagen passed away and later in the episodes they replaced Sheri Jackson with another actress to play Terry.
The oldest daughter went away to college, then in later seasons, I am not sure what season Terri gets married

The actress that played the wife left the show for she didn't like Danny Thomas that well so they said the character died not divorced. The actress on the daughter liked the wife actress but couldn't leave until she was like 16 so her character went to a girl school in Paris not seen again. I'm not sure if all this occurred before the crossover with Lucy Ricardo.
