What a gorgeous dress & look Marjorie had. She always looked sensational. Heck, so did Danny. The kids & "the boss of the house" their housekeeper Luanne looked great too.
So glad they ditched the storyline that Kathy had a spoiled progressive kid by this time soon to be relegated to never never land like the oldest boy was on Happy Days. 😉Rusty is absolutely RIGHT about stepmothers. (Stepfathers too for that matter). I'm glad that the WHOLE family vetted the incoming spouse.

Kathy’s daughter Linda stayed on the show - they just recast after her first appearance.

That LR set looks vaguely familiar. You change the furniture around a bit and you'd have the same set as the Dick Van Dyke show.

That's the fun of watching classic T.V. shows- the Hollywood set lots of houses were used in a lot of different shows. I saw an episode of Marcus Welby MD, with guest star Hugh Beaumont - Ward of Leave but to Beaver - who came to dinner, went upstairs for a nap & passed away. The Welby house IS the Cleaver house!! And on Mannix we've seen episodes where the Brady Bunch house is used - there's no mistaking the Brady Bunch house. And I saw an episode on Chico & the Man where an apartment was the same one used for Mr. & Mrs. Kotter/Welcome Back Kotter. I've seen the Bewitched house several times too. It's almost like growing up in a changing neighborhood. It's really cool to see The Munsters mansion & even the Psycho mansion in different shows too. I love reading comments from lots of other people all over that recognize these places too. 🏘🏠🏡

This is the worst occasion when Danny stick his foot in his mouth by accusing Kathy of putting the kids up to getting daddy to propose. But each time he does this HE AWAYS makes good!

You see that theme used over & over again. The Honeymooners is probably the most iconic example of it, but through the decades as well on MANY sitcoms & series. They stick with the formulas that work.

The final first-run episode of the original ABC series, originally telecast on April 25, 1957.
The following season, Danny was on CBS....and the first episode was filmed on location in Las Vegas, where Danny and Kathy- *and the kids-* were spending their honeymoon.

I didn't remember this from decades ago, but Danny now strikes me as being rather self-centered, privileged, shallow, and a bit mean-spirited?

You mean a successful man who's a single father through widowhood who's careful about what he lets affect his family life? Gosh. What a shame. In case you didn't catch it- he was overreacting & learned his lesson about it. This WAS his production too, by the way. And the Danny character worked very hard to become successful, and often showed his immigrant family members who taught him about that work ethic so the "privilege" you're mentioning is uncalled for. He was also BIG on teaching his children you have to earn your way in this world, that you're not entitled just because others may have made it to a certain level. Too many people now absolutely think they ARE entitled & demanding what they haven't earned out of those they blame for ALL their own weaknesses & attitudes. Since the 60s his St. Judes has treated God knows how many sick kids for FREE as well.
