      Eto'o was a perfect fit for that Barça team, a legend. The most important thing is that he proved to Pep that he was worth it their season together. Pep just didnt like. Eto'o has the right to badmouth Guardiola. Guardiola was not even half the players Eto'o was and what he achieved aa a player. I cannot say that he is not racist. Plantation owners liked them obedient boys like Keita, Abidal, (Mendy is not a star), (Sterling is not a Star, quiet boy hasn't accoplished anything), (Delph obedient otherwise benched and forgotten)... You know where I am going with this.

    As much I don't personally like Guardiola (Bayern fan here), I think it's unfair to say that he sold Toni Kroos. It actually seemed like Pep was doing his utmost to keep Kroos happy. The problem I think was with Hoeness, Matthias Sammer and Rummenigge. Under pressure from the likes of Ribery, who was earning a substantial sum, they could not offer Kroos the same wages as Ribery, fearing a backlash and wage revolt from other players as well. Since they could not compromise, Kroos would be compelled to leave. After all, there has been no shortage of central midfielders at Bayern for several years now.

      You have to adress this to Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and the other official of bayern munich. In 2013/14 Kroos was one of Guardiolas most important players. Guardiola wanted him to stay at Munich in any case, but in Munich Guardiola was not the man who decides about transfers. He was only coach of the players, not manager.

    The Eto'o - Zlatan swap was bad bad business for both Barca and Inter. They both lost out on that deal and the players too. It was a deal that ended up with everybody being worse off. Zlatan was far more adapted to Italian football and Eto'o was better suited for La liga. I love Zlatan but i never thought he'd suceed @ Barca, his style is far too explosive. THe other thing is that he cannot be a follower behind Messi or anyone else, Zlatan only works well if he is the UNDISPUTED LEADER in a team

  • @EthanCruise
    @EthanCruise 7 лет назад +35

    Mario Gomez and Bastian Schweinsteiger should be on top this list.
    He basically Samuel Eto'ed Mario Gomez. When he came, Gomez mentioned that he didn't think he fit into Pep's line up, and Pep advised him on moving to FIorentina etc. If you read Etos' interview, Guardiola also gave him the idea that he didn't fit in and he should leave. Eto stayed though, whereas Gomez left. That is the manager's influence if you ask me. I also imagine if Gomez stayed, he would be treated with the hate Eto mentioned in his interviews.
    Schweinsteiger wanted to go though, we are all aware of that, but nothing was done to keep him there. It also had a lot to do with Pep Guardiola who even went on to say that Schweinsteiger was injured for 3 years etc. Pep really didn't value Bastian, and had him on and off the bench.
    These two definitely should be added to the video. Pep is an idiot.

      Mohit Agrawal First of all, as Franz Beckenbauer once said, sometimes there are sides that are so extraordinarily good they don't even need a manager. The Ajax team of the early 1970's, for instance. Or Real Madrid between 2013 and 2017. Or Pep's Barcelona. So you might argue that his contribution to their success was actually not that big.
      And secondly, it is actually his greatest weakness that he constantly tries to make every team he manages play the way Barca did back then. A truely great manager (like Jupp Heynckes) is able to build a successful side with what's already there and without selling club legends just to implement his style of football.

    Guardiola just doesn't know (and doesn't WANT to know) how to coach "killer" strikers (goal predators or poachers), something in which people like Mourinho, Conte or Ancelotti give absolute priority. Of course you can't argue with Guardiola's trophies and successes, but he's too rigid and ideological. He's in love with the classic Ajax/Barca 4-3-3, false 9s and winger/forward hybrids. That's fine, but imagine if some quality "true 9" (instead of false 9) came in his way. For example, if Guardiola had Inzaghi in his squad he would tell him to quit football or something like that

    One consequence of the mathematical rules of quantum mechanics is a tradeoff in predictability between different measurable quantities. The most famous form of this uncertainty principle says that no matter how a quantum particle is prepared or how carefully experiments upon it are arranged, it is impossible to have a precise prediction for a measurement of its position and also at the same time for a measurement of its momentum.

    Pep did not sell Toni Kroos and Bastian Schweinsteiger. They chose to go face other challenges elsewhere. Deco, Ronaldinho were becoming too big for their shoes at Barca and were violating the dressing room. In the meantime, Barca had won nothing in two seasons. He had to do away with them and the dividends were glaring. He won a treble and went on to win every cup that was available at club level. Ibrahimovic was not his signing. The Club President wanted a big name and Ibra came to mind. Inter wanted a truckload of cash and so, management negotiated the release of Eto as part of the deal. Many deals involving the sale of players are carried out by management while coaches are forced to comply and make do with what is available. It's only pure blind ignorance that would make people pass insulting comments about managers whose business they know nothing about. If you don't know the full story, please zip it and quit exposing ignorance.
    People were insulting Pep for selling Iheanacho. In the meantime, everybody forgets that Pep at a point was benching Aguero in order to give him a chance to prove himself. He didn't live up to expectation at the time and was thus considered surplus. He is in Leicester today but not even getting a first-team shirt.

    Add Jonathan Soriano to that list who was good enough for the highest level but never got the chance instead he got sold when Pep was at Barcelona and went on to completely feast in lower leagues instead, such a shame because this guy would have been a top striker but instead no ones heard of him

  • @braveboy2869

    I wouldn't blame Pep for selling any of the players he sold when he was in Barca simply cos he succeeded very well when he was in there. If I was to blame him for selling any player, it'd be for selling Kross when he was in Bayren, but again I wouldn't blame him cos he actually didn't sell him, in fact he liked his way of playing.

  • @MoLetalis
    @MoLetalis 5 лет назад

    Most of these players were sold by the club, not by Guardiola.
    Deco and Ronaldinho were rotten apples in the team, because of their lack of work ethics and partying habits.
    Eto'o didn't want to sign a new contract, and Barcelona didn't want him to leave as a free agent. That's why they desperately brought in Zlatan, but he didn't fit in the playing style of Pep and I doubt Pep ever wanted him in the first place. Barcelona started the season with Henry, Zlatan and Messi, but ended the season with Bojan, Messi, Pedro in the front.
    Mandzukic is indeed underrated, but Bayern bought Lewandowski and it would be not fair to put Mario on the bench.
    Yaya Touré was a very good player at Barcelona, but the problem was... Busquets was simply better. That midfield of Busquets, Iniesta and Xavi was just unstoppable, and there was no other position left for Yaya to play. Yaya became a second Keita, and decided he wanted to leave.
    Like you already stated, Bayern is an avaricious club and didn't want to extend their salary ceiling for Kroos. Not really Guardiola's choice to sell him, but he got Thiago for a decent price, who is more suited for his style of play.

  • @D.S.Torr14

    Pep sold Ronaldinho because he knew he would only corrupt Messi into a party boy aswell. And he saw a greater potential with Messi as a replacement. Had Ronaldinho had the mentality Ronaldo or Messi have, he would of been the best ever. He won everything there is to win at such a young age he just didn't care anymore. He was still making a lot of money in Milan. He would party all night long, show up late to practice and not perform... I would of loved for him to stay at his best for longer
