- From Samuel Eto'o to Toni Kroos, HITC Sevens counts down some of the finest players to have been sold by Pep Guardiola during his time at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
Toni kroos was such a gem, and madrid got him for bargain
World class midfielder for 25m, quite the bargain indeed.
Eto'o should be top. He was comfortably in his prime, the worlds best no.9, and went on to win the treble the next year at Inter.
pep's decision to let hit go remains as baffling as ever lol
Eto'o was a perfect fit for that Barça team, a legend. The most important thing is that he proved to Pep that he was worth it their season together. Pep just didnt like. Eto'o has the right to badmouth Guardiola. Guardiola was not even half the players Eto'o was and what he achieved aa a player. I cannot say that he is not racist. Plantation owners liked them obedient boys like Keita, Abidal, (Mendy is not a star), (Sterling is not a Star, quiet boy hasn't accoplished anything), (Delph obedient otherwise benched and forgotten)... You know where I am going with this.
Sam N Edu Medja it’s not always about racism
Sam N Edu Medja what a stupid comment this is
@@samnedumedja5323 oh shut up you literally cried racsim then went on to list black players he used if you're going to be a little bitch like that dont watch football because guess what not just black players get sold
Mandzukic is criminally underrated, no one considers him as one of the best strikes around
google it
wrong comment
he isn’t a top striker ..
because he is not
Wow
Ronaldinho left Barca when he was only 28? Wow he did decline fast. Must be partying hard lol
He simply did not give a shit about football anymore, he achieved everything and was like it is time to paaaarrrtttyyyyy
Sam Fisher he is still a legend he came he saw he conquered and he left
Sam Fisher yep, imagine if he stayed. No joke, he would 100% be known as the best everr
He was allegedly doing cocaine. He had to be sold before the press found about it or he influenced other players.
his last year was below average, so technically by 27 he was done.
Pep was actually against toni Kroos being sold the others were sold by pep at barca cause his style demanded more and it ended out really well at barca pep wanted Kroos Bayern messed up when they didn't listen to him
Parth Jain yeah Bayern didn't want to pay his wages, so they sold a worldclass midfielder. So sad 😭
Barca was unstoppable when pep Is managing them
it always puzzled me as to why pep would sell a player of that mould since he ticks the checklist of attributes a pep midfielder should have
@@サト_像 2013 CL semi final
Pep loses Kroos but got Alonso in return.
Sorry, Xabi Alonso is better than Kroos. Only older
Tony Kroos with Bayern Munich they won Championships league, & Tony Kroos gone to Real Madrid , Madrid start to win championships League
100%
Wait, when did he win the championships league
@@kirthansakhamuri2963 baby do you watch football,
Lal Shrestha dumbass it was a joke, bcuz the championship is the second division in England and what Toni Kroos won is the champions league. Get it now? And u can’t even spell Toni Kroos, and u have the audacity to ask if I watch football
As much I don't personally like Guardiola (Bayern fan here), I think it's unfair to say that he sold Toni Kroos. It actually seemed like Pep was doing his utmost to keep Kroos happy. The problem I think was with Hoeness, Matthias Sammer and Rummenigge. Under pressure from the likes of Ribery, who was earning a substantial sum, they could not offer Kroos the same wages as Ribery, fearing a backlash and wage revolt from other players as well. Since they could not compromise, Kroos would be compelled to leave. After all, there has been no shortage of central midfielders at Bayern for several years now.
Bayern are to blame for not fighting harder for Kroos, but Pep is at fault.
The reason Pep joined Bayren in the first place is to make the team around Kroos. He even stated it in his autobiography. He was very angry to bayern asst because they sell Kross.
Pep insisted on renewing Kroos’ contract but Bayern thought Kroos was to expensive
dpereira35 i like it when i see someone who knows the truth. Kroos left because of a contract standoff not because pep never wanted him.
Well it´s not like we miss Kroos. Would I have liked him to stay? Absolutely! But we can live without him as well. Him and Martinez would have been great as a duo though.
I will never forgive Guardiola for selling Eto'o...
Pepsi Ipep ayy man wassup, here we meet again :)
lol
Why lol?
I will never forgive him for selling Kroos, Schweinsteiger, Mario Gomez and Mario Mandzukic! Heck even Shaqiri. He was a great player, not at the level of Robben or Ribery but he was excellent.
EthanCruise mandzukic vs lewandowski
Can you do 7 players you don't know won the world cup
Ben Uruguay
I did not know that Totti won it, after scoring one goal, a controversial penalty against Australia
Pepe Reina. Marco Reus
johann cruijff, george best, marco van basten, michelle platini, roberto baggio, cristiano ronaldo, lionel messi. done. (23 ballon d'or in 7 names)
oh fuck i've totally misread the question! lol sorry i'm a idiot
Pep didn't want to sell kroos one of the reasons he chose to leave to Bayern in the end he bumped heads with the board over it
When you said Ihenacho at the end I almost peed my pants😂😂😂
Wow pathetic i almost shat and came on the floor
Well that escalated quiekly
wow pathetic I came in my family's food and killed them all after
1.Ronaldinho
2.Deco
3.Mario Mandzukic
4.Thierry Henry
5.Mario Gomez
6.Samuel Eto
Can we agree how the sound quality has improved and how composed he has been
Wrong, Kroos was sold without Guardiolas consent and Ronaldinho has said that it was his own decision to leave barca.
J Jimenez Correct.
correct
J Jimenez ..nop.. he said to the board he wouldn't be needing Eto'o, Gaucho and Deco
@@claudemakelele2856 gaucho left by his choice. Etoo was a bad move yeah, but he has more than made up for it with his performance
Top 7 managers who manage/managed former teammates
Rasheed Khan Good idea
Like Mourinho and Ibrahimovic?
or do you mean like Zidane and Ramos?
Like simeone and torres
Gerrard and defoe
Guardiola and Iniesta
Thanks, Pep for selling Toni Kroos to Real Madrid. He is just phenomenal at midfield, and form a great pair with Luka. They help Real to win a lot of trophies. I'm very happy, as I'm a Real fan. Thanks, Barca's one of the most lovable manager to help Real to win trophies indirectly. That's awesome.
You have to adress this to Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and the other official of bayern munich. In 2013/14 Kroos was one of Guardiolas most important players. Guardiola wanted him to stay at Munich in any case, but in Munich Guardiola was not the man who decides about transfers. He was only coach of the players, not manager.
Video suggestion: 7 big game players
Callum Heritage yes please
PL big game players. Rooney, Drogba, Gerrerad, Aguero, Henry, Lampard, Van Persie
They already made one

Drogba, Gerrard, Iniesta, Ronaldo, Messi, Lampard, Marcelo
Could you do 7 greatest players sold by Jürgen Klopp next.
Aryan Dewan although lewa wasn't sold its still a major mistake to not expand a worldclass players contract
will it be 7 player sold, or 7 players snatched by bayern?
Kagawa, Lewa, Gotze, Grosskreutz, Kuba, Balotelli, Coutinho
7 great steals from klopp would be even better...kagawa, lewa, hummels, gotze, coutinho, sterling, mkhitaryan, gundogan, sahin.
"steals from"
The Eto'o - Zlatan swap was bad bad business for both Barca and Inter. They both lost out on that deal and the players too. It was a deal that ended up with everybody being worse off. Zlatan was far more adapted to Italian football and Eto'o was better suited for La liga. I love Zlatan but i never thought he'd suceed @ Barca, his style is far too explosive. THe other thing is that he cannot be a follower behind Messi or anyone else, Zlatan only works well if he is the UNDISPUTED LEADER in a team
Mario Gomez and Bastian Schweinsteiger should be on top this list.
He basically Samuel Eto'ed Mario Gomez. When he came, Gomez mentioned that he didn't think he fit into Pep's line up, and Pep advised him on moving to FIorentina etc. If you read Etos' interview, Guardiola also gave him the idea that he didn't fit in and he should leave. Eto stayed though, whereas Gomez left. That is the manager's influence if you ask me. I also imagine if Gomez stayed, he would be treated with the hate Eto mentioned in his interviews.
Schweinsteiger wanted to go though, we are all aware of that, but nothing was done to keep him there. It also had a lot to do with Pep Guardiola who even went on to say that Schweinsteiger was injured for 3 years etc. Pep really didn't value Bastian, and had him on and off the bench.
These two definitely should be added to the video. Pep is an idiot.
EthanCruise yeah that idiot formed the best barcelona team and is doing wonders in man city... haters are always gonna hate him but there are few who are at level with guardiola in the game
Mohit Agrawal First of all, as Franz Beckenbauer once said, sometimes there are sides that are so extraordinarily good they don't even need a manager. The Ajax team of the early 1970's, for instance. Or Real Madrid between 2013 and 2017. Or Pep's Barcelona. So you might argue that his contribution to their success was actually not that big.
And secondly, it is actually his greatest weakness that he constantly tries to make every team he manages play the way Barca did back then. A truely great manager (like Jupp Heynckes) is able to build a successful side with what's already there and without selling club legends just to implement his style of football.
Flomo Shinkelstein, any Barca fan will tell you that Guardiola revived Barca. Just trust us in this. You don’t know what it was like for Barca just trying to qualify for UCL the season before Pep came.
p
“And a spell at Bayern Munich”
yeah that always slips my mind
Bundesliga is an awful league
Imagine if bayern hadnt sold kroos and vidal, it would be kroos, thiago and vidal. Best midfield trio
Vidal lol
He destroyed my Bayern, everything than Jupp built he destroyed
Ahhhh Pep is crazy imagine if he sells aguero! That would be mental!
He will, he'll say gabriel jesus is better.
Augero is fed up, I think he’ll leave in January.
im from future and aguero still play for man city
It is not about how good the player is.... It is about how he can contribute to the style of play of the manager
Kroos is probably around 80 millions now
Nobody will pay 80 millions for this aged star...
@@mealso5391 agree
Schweinsteiger and Kroos my favorite midfield duo
My best
Pep Guardiola desperately wanted to keep Kroos, he saw him as a key player in his system, but Hoeness didn't consider Kroos good enough to gave him the same amount of money that he gave Goetze and that's why Kroos decided to leave
Kroos was not sold by pep. He was against selling him, and this trade may have been the reason, pep did not sign another contract with Bayern.
Do 7 best strike partnerships of the last decade (please)! And don't forget Dzeko and Grafite, they were legendary!
Me:say Kroos
Him:Tony Kreus 5:12
Me:say that again
Him: 5:17
Ronaldinho had to be sold because he had some "powder" problem. He had no choice, there was a chance of Dinho influencing other players.
Xerdan shaqiri as well. He had great potential at bayern
i thought so too at the time. while i definitely dont think he is a bad player these days, i also think bayern may have made the right choice in letting him go... in fact, im a little more surprised bayern got rid of douglas costa. he was absolutely electric for bayern in the first half of his season... his form dipped without a doubt, but bayern cut ties with him far too quickly imo
as a bayern fan a was furious when kroos left bayern. i knew he was our most talented player and i could see his distaste for the lack of play time pep guardiola was giving him...
Looool, the way the narrator says ‘Toni Kroos’
He’s doing *fairly* well this season. Oh boy it gets better
Bayern sees Thiago as a player that would be an important piece for Guardiola's campaign so it became fine for the club to let Kroos leave, but that didn't work out. I don't think money was the very reason of Kroos' departure, but it's more like he sees joining Real Madrid as a step up to his career.
Guardiola just doesn't know (and doesn't WANT to know) how to coach "killer" strikers (goal predators or poachers), something in which people like Mourinho, Conte or Ancelotti give absolute priority. Of course you can't argue with Guardiola's trophies and successes, but he's too rigid and ideological. He's in love with the classic Ajax/Barca 4-3-3, false 9s and winger/forward hybrids. That's fine, but imagine if some quality "true 9" (instead of false 9) came in his way. For example, if Guardiola had Inzaghi in his squad he would tell him to quit football or something like that
He sold yaya toure 2 times 1:barcelona 2:manchester city
Technically he didn't sell him at Man City.
@@HITCSevens he did
@@basharatcheema100 no he didn't his contract ran out spastic
I wasn't too sure about Pep selling certain players but his achievements speak for themselves. Tours was amazing but then Pep brought in De Brunye who has fit like a glove into midfield. Kroos is the biggest question mark aa a true world class player and has a World Cup winners medal to prove it.
Pep fought hard to keep kroos at bayern he even fought with the board about it personally and Ronaldinho had his own problems
A few years ago, if Pep could have fielded a team of 10 midfielders, plus an 11th who could stop shots, too, he would have. He's come to understand that pure strikers are useful, but still hasn't grasped the concept of real defenders. He is a peerless coach of possession-based attacking football, though.
Don't forget mandzukic plays on the wing for Juventus.
What an egoistic manager .
He sells people he doesn't like and just say that they couldn't blend in with the team.
Eto , toure , kroos , ibra have all talked about this
The thing is , he needs results nd all those players had ego issues except for ronaldinho (he left on his own) .
He got rid of ibra , eto, and toure, and went on to win 5 trophies in 2011. And in 2009 he won 6 trophies. First team ever to win every competition that they participated in . Cry me a river ha. And your crying about ibra but who took his spot when ibra got hurt when they were facing arsenal , messi of course. Who scored 4 goals in the first leg vs arsenal. Messi haha .

Ronaldinho and Deco were the best lay offs ever from Guardiola. You really need to have guts to kick out these kind of players but thats why he is the best tactical mind of football in the world.
Best 7 players who have good educations
7 greatest players to never win the world cup
7 greatest players to never win the Champions League
Buffon for champions League
Among the Italinas, Baggio for World Cup, Dino Zoff said so just before the 2006 WC started.
Zlatan
World Cup would be easy !! Messi Ronaldo Neymar DeGea Zlatan to name a few.
Christopher Kupetz what’s so funny?
Ronaldo, Zlatan, Neymar, Yashin, and many legends never won the World Cup.
I do like to see you trying to play in the World Cup.
7 great players bought/ transformed by Klopp please.
I know a few- Lewandowski, Salah, Shaqiri, Aubameyang.
The whole Liverpool squad.
Schweinsteiger
Schweinsteiger was kinda better than him. And also, kroos was playing CAM mostly bayern, he was converted truly to CM at Madrid, like they did to Modric.
Schweinsteiger was sold by pep when he was getting very old and couldn't perform as well any more
He'd finished, unfortunately.
That is true but Pep had nothing to do with it, Schwein said that Man Utd was a dream for him since he was a kid and he wanted to leave. Bayern respected that and gave him what he wanted.
Great video
Thanks Cindy!
Great! Video. Thumbs up! And F*** for Pep.
Im watching this in 2020 again for some reason boy was he so different then hewas so fast talking now hes quiet and calm
Do 50 great players sold by Mourinho that became world class
Man said “deco over henry”
A good manager is not those who are manager of one of the top clubs.
A good manager is someone who's able to become champion with a small team
You are a fool
That is why I couldn't find a word to express my hate to this man, especially for what he did on Eto'o.
You hate him just because he sold some players? Jesus...it's not that deep. He's a coach and if the players didn't fit his system and tactics then I don't see what the problem is.
Dove Rosé learn ur facts before u comment u little goof

Deco, Mandzukic, Ronaldinho, Yaya Toure, ETO'O, Zlatan, Kroos
One consequence of the mathematical rules of quantum mechanics is a tradeoff in predictability between different measurable quantities. The most famous form of this uncertainty principle says that no matter how a quantum particle is prepared or how carefully experiments upon it are arranged, it is impossible to have a precise prediction for a measurement of its position and also at the same time for a measurement of its momentum.
barca was one of my fav teams to play in the early pes and fifa game..that is UNTIL ronaldinho was sold to ac milan by guardiola..one of the best brazilian footballer EVER and one of the dangerous trident partner in the world along with messi and samuel eto' before neymar era was sold..
Can you do 7 great players sold by Luis erinque or Zinedine Zidane.
Pep did not sell Toni Kroos and Bastian Schweinsteiger. They chose to go face other challenges elsewhere. Deco, Ronaldinho were becoming too big for their shoes at Barca and were violating the dressing room. In the meantime, Barca had won nothing in two seasons. He had to do away with them and the dividends were glaring. He won a treble and went on to win every cup that was available at club level. Ibrahimovic was not his signing. The Club President wanted a big name and Ibra came to mind. Inter wanted a truckload of cash and so, management negotiated the release of Eto as part of the deal. Many deals involving the sale of players are carried out by management while coaches are forced to comply and make do with what is available. It's only pure blind ignorance that would make people pass insulting comments about managers whose business they know nothing about. If you don't know the full story, please zip it and quit exposing ignorance.
People were insulting Pep for selling Iheanacho. In the meantime, everybody forgets that Pep at a point was benching Aguero in order to give him a chance to prove himself. He didn't live up to expectation at the time and was thus considered surplus. He is in Leicester today but not even getting a first-team shirt.
7 Deco
6 Manduzic
5 Ronaldinho
4 Yaya Toure
3 Eto'o
2 Zlatan
1 Kroos
Thanks
Kroos has won the champions league 3 of his 4 years at Real
Not Yaya Toure it should be Aleksander Kolarov.
Barca and Bayern Munich will miss Eto and Kroos too much
Who needs kroos when u have thiago 😎
Haha 3 in a row remember who had only kroos
Eto + 80m euro for Ibrahimovic was the most ridiculous transfer in european transfer history. Eto was superbly fit in barca system and was in form at that time.
basically 7 players who didnt fit into tiki taka lol
Bayern generally allow players to leave if they no longer want to stay with the club and do accept low fees for those players.
Add Jonathan Soriano to that list who was good enough for the highest level but never got the chance instead he got sold when Pep was at Barcelona and went on to completely feast in lower leagues instead, such a shame because this guy would have been a top striker but instead no ones heard of him
I wouldn't blame Pep for selling any of the players he sold when he was in Barca simply cos he succeeded very well when he was in there. If I was to blame him for selling any player, it'd be for selling Kross when he was in Bayren, but again I wouldn't blame him cos he actually didn't sell him, in fact he liked his way of playing.
There should be a caveat to this. He didn’t bring in bad replacements for most of these players did he. Also MM a top player ( debatable)
Now at juventus we see how good mandzukic really is
Kroos leaving Bayern wasnt cause of Pep but the negotiation with Uli & Co.
Can you do 7 reason to unquote the quote "WENGER OUT". 😁

You forgot that Kroos also won the world cup too with the more assist in the tournament.
You know this world is frucked up when you see Ronaldinho sold for 22 millions pounds.
@HITC Sevens, please notice that the "J" in Portuguese is pronounced like in English, not like in Spanish. So please pronounce "José" similar to Joseph". Actually the Portuguese sound is softer than the English one, but still is closer than to Spanish.
Selling Ronaldinho meant making Messi the main man and helped improve him a lot as a dribbler and finisher and at the time Ronaldinho was doing more partying than training and had to be sold
Pep didn't want to sell kroos, he was furios at Rummenigge und Hoeneß for doing that.
Pep is the best manager for young talents at top level just look at sterling and sane now.. 2 years back they where at same level with martial and now he is no where close to them at current form.. and there r so many other players also
Pero usually gets rid of players that won't follow his instructions
He destroyed Bayern
We never forget what he did
Yaya toure was a mistake, fucking beast of a player. Loved him in barca.
The steal of the steal of the century
Eto should be top, he was absolutely unplayable and he was only 27 when Pep got rid of him
Most of these players were sold by the club, not by Guardiola.
Deco and Ronaldinho were rotten apples in the team, because of their lack of work ethics and partying habits.
Eto'o didn't want to sign a new contract, and Barcelona didn't want him to leave as a free agent. That's why they desperately brought in Zlatan, but he didn't fit in the playing style of Pep and I doubt Pep ever wanted him in the first place. Barcelona started the season with Henry, Zlatan and Messi, but ended the season with Bojan, Messi, Pedro in the front.
Mandzukic is indeed underrated, but Bayern bought Lewandowski and it would be not fair to put Mario on the bench.
Yaya Touré was a very good player at Barcelona, but the problem was... Busquets was simply better. That midfield of Busquets, Iniesta and Xavi was just unstoppable, and there was no other position left for Yaya to play. Yaya became a second Keita, and decided he wanted to leave.
Like you already stated, Bayern is an avaricious club and didn't want to extend their salary ceiling for Kroos. Not really Guardiola's choice to sell him, but he got Thiago for a decent price, who is more suited for his style of play.
Pep sold Ronaldinho because he knew he would only corrupt Messi into a party boy aswell. And he saw a greater potential with Messi as a replacement. Had Ronaldinho had the mentality Ronaldo or Messi have, he would of been the best ever. He won everything there is to win at such a young age he just didn't care anymore. He was still making a lot of money in Milan. He would party all night long, show up late to practice and not perform... I would of loved for him to stay at his best for longer
Top 7 players who never went to a World Cup!
Either Pep or Mourinho, both chose players which suits their tactics n plan..
Kroos' transfer still hurts Bayern to this day ... :/
Toni Kroos had a lot to do with KHR. The senior management didn’t like Toni’s personality for some reason. Really hated to see him go.
Why does he sound so much happier
Pep gave Ronaldinho a chance, but he'd already retired mentally.
