I heard it the other day on an oldies station , and it just brought back such memories! There is good music today, but not on the radio anymore. I miss the old days.

And a car of teenagers rushed in and asked the manager who sang this song as they just heard it on the radio and he didn’t know but I was perusing the 45’s and said it’s Tighter tighter by Alive and Kicking and no, there wasn’t a copy in the store- this was the nineties and I was addicted to this and it is is my collection and I never get tired of the way I feel whenever I play it- goosebumps🥰

To me this is so much better than anything being thrown out to the public these days. This song seemed so ahead of its time, but still captured the mood of 1970. First heard it when home again on temp leave before being deployed. In those times you lived every minute and knew good music when you heard it. I would have extended it too! The guitar solo was a stand-alone classic all by itself.

Never forget the first time I heard this song. 1970, western Kansas, we were cutting wheat. Stopped about 10 pm because the wheat was getting tough. Drove the equipment back to the farmyard. Got in my car to drive home and this song came on KOMA out of Oklahoma City. I was spellbound and listened to the entire song before driving away.
