$5k. thats crazy. I bought a $1,000 silverado with a 6.0 that was thrsshed in a tuff truck competition for $1k. Engine mounts are in almost the same spot (just used 98-0× camaro mounts) transmission mount is close to the same, the t-case is close to fords. The GM fuel hat/pump assy was the same depth as ford (15") and will fit in the ford tank with a few times atound the opening with a round file and be held in with the ford lock ring. The gm fuel lines were the same length. It was plug and play with the fuel. I added twin turbos and LA3 heads and was less than that. My problem is that it ripped the yoke off the dana 60 at 3/4 throttle on a 20 mph roll. Props for doing the swap, but it doesnt cost much if you can do a little fab work.

Yeah I understand it can always be done cheaper, however I bought a freshly remanned 4L80e and T-case and motor was rebuilt. I was going for reliability not budget since it’s my daily driver.

2024 prices are a different ball game as well. What year did you do this all in?

@flatbrokemodsquad4241 basically a all new drive train.. seems pretty reasonable.

I understand that now. If everything is new, that would get expensive. I went for lots of power for cheap. I had some rect port heads rebuilt and put a Texas speed cam and springs along with 2 62mm turbos. Got most parts used or swap meet and fabbed most parts for fitment. I've got $6k with the holley terminator and everything with extras like a $1,100 circle d convertor. If ot was a mostly stock swap, it would have been pretty cheap. Now the problem is the weak points in driveline. Just ripped the yoke apart on my dana 60 at 3/4 throttle just over 4,200 rpm. With a cam only swap, it would gave been under $2k and a lot easier. Glad you are enjoying your ride.@JIMMYLUNCHMEAT

I guess you could have just put in a 5.8 for more power and a straight bolt in but hey you do you.

Have you researched stock 5.8 whp? 5.3 LS has it beat by hp and mpg. Also 5.8 has to be bolted to junk E4OD transmission. Trust me man I’ve considered it all.
