    Real nice effect. I’ve always found bones on characters a pain to set up. This was an interesting one.

    I made an attempt to the same topic some years ago and I struggled. But this tutorial seems to point to the right way, thanks :)

      Awesome! Glad you came back to this topic in a roundabout way and can finally do it now :)

    Well, it doesn't look natural without bending.
    But it's a hard task. I tried a lot: bones, empties...
    Looks like there need to be a combination of different methods depending on situation.
    The hardest part is to bend same plane two or mo times...

      yeah this is a great start but can definitely expand on it

      @@blendermania3di finally got the time to make it and it was a great experience and the coolest.
      And i tried to make another shape based on what i've learned and I found it easy. Thanks again 😁

    Watching a year later-- thanks for this awesome video! Followed it to a T this morning.
    I am hoping to add a little more to this and make it fly around a bit, but moving the object location affects all the folding etc. I'm not familiar enough with shape keys to know exactly what's happening, but I'll keep messing around with it. If anyone happens to read this and have ideas for a workaround, I'd be thrilled!

    I tried making it but in my case the plane keeps on passing throught it , ruining the model any tips on that also , when we move planes sometimes it looks wierd and not what i thought it will look ? I mean the way plane behaves , when we just pull up one vertice high enough . Sorry for bad english :P

    13:54 I can't get the modifiers to appear when the wings are selected. It only appears when the body is selected and doesn't cause the wing flapping to cycle. Any idea what I need to do?

    It´s so hard for me to use the knife tool, i messed it all up while doing key 2. Is there another similar tool that i can use, that does the same effect?
    Thanks!

    • @glasscoyote
      @glasscoyote 3 года назад

      click on both vertices and press J. it will make an edge between the two vertices effectively doing the exact same thing as the knife cut tool.

    This is not mathematically correct folding. There is no rotation, just linear interpolation.

    The Origami model I'm trying to make, this one? ruclips.net/video/25qjLa9ZzBM/видео.html
    Up to 5:15 works very well for this tutorial, then when I have to fold it over the 2nd time, it won't allow for it. Like, I think I know how to do the head and tail, but I can't do that one fold a 2nd time, it either adds to the previous step, or wonks out eight ways from Sunday. What do you suggest for that?

    • @RANPA_RANMARE
      @RANPA_RANMARE 3 года назад +1

      have you tried to do it physically first, if you can't then slow down the video and try to make some copies of your blender model, that way you can experiment and try to see which way works.
