This video is absolutely CRAZY. It's seriously impressive how your teaching skills can explain someone to go from creating simple cube objects to fully lighting and rendering a scene in roughly 25 minutes. You've made my university's animation class a lot simpler
@@GameDevAcademy Maya can do things in video clips or pictures of porn stars like talking to each other or kissing each other. Or shooting someone else?
the way you inject subtle comedy into your tutorials is what really sets you apart from other content creators on RUclips, Easy to follow and entertaining to listen to, everything a good teacher needs to be. :)
especially Maya tutorials. I find that there is a big difference in the mood and feel of videos for Maya and things like Blender or Marmoset or Painter and so on. Maya's videos tend to be dryer. I think these differences are because either people are trying to be more or less professional or its just the type of people who use each program. Blender's videos tends to a bit more lighthearted. Marmoset seems more lighthearted than Substance Painter. Like you said, I enjoyed this guy's humorous approach. profenalprofenal
Seriously. I think many times teachers forget that they already know how everything works, so they forget to break their instruction down to the simplest step/idea. It's like they're afraid of insulting people's intelligence but fail to realize that the reality is that 99% of people who are learning this stuff won't actually get insulted. This stuff is complicated but a good teacher makes it uncomplicated.
I was trying to follow along with the tutorial that came with the MAYA software itself and I was so lost. This helped IMMENSELY. All the buttons are so much less daunting when you know what most of them do!
That was the most encouraging and exciting Maya tutorial I have ever seen. Nothing was too intimidating, and your pacing is perfect. Thank you for inspiring me and my wife to dive into Maya. We're very excited to follow all of your Maya tutorials. Please keep them coming!
I was a blender user, till i joined my college, i had to learn maya, but I was a beginner to 3D, the first video I searched and found was this one, took me 2 days just to finish this properly, now 1 year later, I work as a 3D Artist at a company, couldn't have done it without this tutorial, thanks a lot, After learning this tutorial, i went to several many, with different college projects, then i found the youtube Mario(elementza), all uphill from there. But cant forget where you came from. THANKS AGAIN!.
Thanks, I always watch these beginner videos because sometimes even though you are an experienced user, sometimes you might actually learn something basic that you either learned once and forgot or never knew and there is almost always something in that category.
This is the video which I was searching for in RUclips about Maya.......after watching few videos I watched it and I am genuinely benefitted and impressed by your teaching skills and the way you make everything understand in less time.......thank you very much for this video ❤
Dude, I'm trying to transition from Max to Maya and this was such a wonderful break down of the basics. Such a great starting point for an old schooler like myself.

I'll be looking forward to watching your future content.
For anyone having trouble with the beveling at 05:41, you might have made some accidental extrusion with a thickness of 0. It doesn't change how the mesh looks but breaks the topology for beveling. Deleting any unwanted extrusion in the channel box fixed it for me.

damn, what an excellent tutorial. I've used maya before, but only ever created basic models, not full rooms like this. This video really did help a lot, and I learnt more from this than the 7 months of school I had attended to learn this stuff. I know the tutorial is a little old at this point, but I'm also still using Maya 2022 (for stability reasons), so that doesn't matter so much. Plus very little has actually changed. Hi I am looking to use Maya for both educational work and my own creative pursuits. This is the first tutorial for Maya that I found incredibly helpful and engaging! How you present in your energetic manner kept me attentive to the whole thing and complete it without falling asleep. Thank you!
Great Tutorial, easy to follow... You should include in the beginning how to setup and create your project with the correct folder structure so that everything is organised.
This was SOOOOO helpful! I like how simple you kept it. I was able to get caught up a lot faster to where I need to be in my school modeling class right now. I really appreciate the great tutorial. And it was fun the way you added extra little MEME pics:)
I absolutely enjoyed this tutorial. I wasn't actually considering learning Maya but this video changed my mind! Shout out to this talented teacher I'm definitely looking forward to more tutorials from this channel in the future! Keep it up 🔥
This video is amazing for how it covers the basics of Maya along with having funny moments that go along very nicely while teaching the material. You make this really easy and simple to follow along with and having impressive skills that go from creating a simple cube to this nice work environment. very nice and encouraging tutorial, it helped me a lot in gaining confidence as a complete beginner. please consider making more maya tutorials in the future.
I'm currently using Maya in my Animation program, and my modelling professor is big on cleanup. From what I've been able to grasp on the concept so far, it doesn't look like you did any cleanup once you combined all the pieces you used to make some of the objects. What's your opinion on the importance of cleanup? I personally feel like, for something like this, where you're just creating a scene for viewing purposes, cleanup wouldn't be necessary, but he thinks it should always be done. I don't enjoy the cleanup part haha.
This is great tutorial, step by step but not taking too long time. It's easy to understand. I'm looking for any tutorial about modeling sword, axe or guns on Maya 2023. Will you make somthing like that in coming days?
So I prefer blender, when I am done with this class I will be returning to blender. This is easily the clearest and most efficient tutorial I've found for this program though. Thanks a bunch for making it!
