- Dive into this detailed exploration of a modern vehicle's lighting system. Discover how the car utilizes its full proximity key system for access without activating any approach or interior lights initially. Learn about the functional safety feature that turns on interior and exterior lights upon unlocking, enhancing visibility and security.
Examine the design and effectiveness of the vehicle's parking lights, which include stylish LED strips and amber front and red rear side markers. See how these lights ensure visibility without being overly bright, maintaining a subtle yet functional presence.
I take a closer look at the turn signal indicators, both in the front and on the side mirrors, evaluating their visibility and brightness. The rear turn signal, with its adequate brightness and central positioning, is also highlighted for its contribution to safety.
Join me as I test the low beam headlights, housed in a single projector, and observe their cut-off point and focus. The high beams, utilizing the same projector, are examined for their enhanced brightness and effectiveness in various conditions.
Discover the practical aspects of the vehicle's cargo light, including an over-the-shoulder light and a single light on the left side. Notice the uneven distribution of light, especially in the cargo area's right side, suggesting areas for improvement.
Learn about the puddle light feature on the back door and the dim pocket light on the door panel. The video also covers the illumination of the third-row and second-row seats, as well as the front door lighting, including puddle and pocket lights.
See how the interior lighting, with backlit buttons and floorboard illumination, adds to the vehicle's ambiance. The video also delves into the functionality of the auto-dimming side mirrors and the rearview mirror.
Experience how the vehicle's lighting system performs in real-world conditions, including a comparison of low and high beam headlights on dark roads. Understand the balance between avoiding blinding oncoming drivers and providing adequate visibility.
Whether you're a car enthusiast or someone interested in automotive lighting technology, this video offers a comprehensive review of a vehicle's sophisticated lighting system.

Great video Mike! It's strange that for whatever reason Mazda decided to not give the PHEV Premium Plus the same lighting available on the Turbo S Premium Plus. The latter version gets adaptive headlights as well as additional interior accent lighting (door accents, foot well lighting in the rear) plus the tail light extends into the tail gate area and the front headlights have additional accents. Hopefully you will have a chance to test a Turbo S Premium Plus
Not sure if things are different in the States. I have the top trim PHEV in canada and the rear lights extend like the inline 6 version. I also have adaptive front headlights. It's the top GT trim.
Yeah, not sure what Mazda was thinking there.
Love these videos Mike. Great work!
Awesome review Mike love the night drives and light show👍
Insane Mazda Mike.
Fabulous video as always! Kissingtons!
Mazda has been doing some great headlights!
Lets gooo, And can u make a video on chevrolet suburban premier 2023 PlZ
Now my 1st new Mazda PHEV SUV to buy.
شكرًا جزيلًا فيديو رائع جدًا ومفيد للغاية 👍🏼
No approach lighting is a great miss!
You didn’t like the Grand Cherokee reflectors but the GC scores much higher from IIHS. The distance from the cx90 is kinda poor
🍀🔥🍀🔥🍀✅️
I thought the tail lights went into the tail gate area
Depends on the trim. Higher trim will have the tail gate lights lit up
@@BrianDIYChannelnot on the US PHEV. I have the Premium Plus and that tail gate lights are merely a decoration. Weird.
@@bryanbuff that is strange, I am in Canada and top GT trim has the entire tail lights lit up
@@BrianDIYChannel Yeah I’ve heard this. Not sure why.
Those yellow side markers on the headlight of the american version look hedious
56 MPGE
Looks cool, kinda like a Mazda 3 hatch, but on steroids lol
The thing that kills the design for me is how the rear bulges out. It looks like a beluga whales head in the rear 😂
It’s called 3-row SUV for a reason
CX-70 2-row comes out next year
Jaja
For me it’s that the entire “light bar” doesn’t light up unless you go Turbo S models. Looks like the lights are broke or burned out. Looks very unprofessional and incomplete. I can’t believe Mazda nickel and dimed consumers on brake lights.
Music is annoying
What song should I have used?
