I've watched a lot of videos(obedience tutorials) and read a lot of articles(socialization, behavior problems...), but is theory knowledge enough for bringing a ridgeback home as my first dog? P.S. I've been around dogs my entire life.
I’ve had Ridgebacks my whole life would not recommend as a first time owner unless you really make sure they’re coming from parents who have as mellow temperaments as possible 😅 INCREDIBLE dogs but very high energy, so smart and naughty. Need a lot of stimulation and are challenging for the first 2/3 years and then they mellow out a lot.
I said, “What a great portrait in the background” and my teen daughter said, “Look at the Marshall amps!” Lol

Does bringing a puppy home to another dog count as socialization even if it's just one dog?
No.
