While I personally don’t trust modern vehicles, I respect that they are still far more reliable and efficient than my older models. I’ve never had to tap a starter motor on a newer car to get it to turn the motor, I’ve done it countless times in my older machines. I’m constantly doing maintenance and work on my vehicles, but rarely do anything more than a service on newer stuff.
Very good perspective to have!! I will 100% be getting an old rig that I can be more hands on with all the quirks they have! But for what I need at the moment I just want something I’m 99% sure it will turn on ahahah!
I am guessing you are thinking like the 50 year old that I am😂 I have not had to knock a starter motor since I was in my 20s. My 2005 Navara has never needed it, it didn't have an oil leak until it was over 10 years old, and still lasts 10k between services without needing an oil top up Most reliable vehicle I have had, and after 400k I will not be likely to change soon
Hahaha apprentice wasn't taught properly about wiring in high current draw accessories, even on small draw items I avoid going off factory prefused terminals incase theres a short between fuse and terminal as ive seen that happen when they undo nut for a breaker. Few hundred bucks later and 3 blown factory fuse blocks later because of another workshops lack of thought.
@@CoreyKirwen Shouldn't have to check if you're getting work done at an auto elec workshop, I'm an apprentice mechanic at an auto elec/mechanic and been sucked into being one of the main auto elecs at this point, not hard to do things right and neat but lack of a good mentor and rushing for time limits is a big reason for stuff ups.
I load with the tapes conduit. Looks just like my van whenever I have to use 20mm. Also fun fact, American conduit doesn't have bell ends they use couplers and glue
About time someone talked common sense about modern Utes. Most people shit on the ford ranger but I’ve done 35,000 kilometres and I floor it everywhere and I’ve had no issues or hiccups so far.
@@Kroooza - mine's at 220k now - waiting. lol.. (of course there are wear items), buy new - get DPF and DEF - with no repairs till they clog up - then toss the car at ?? km, as worthless, buy old (or new, back in the day), swap out a few parts as they age - grow old together....
Im a machanic of a phew years and almost every new ute is good besides the ldv ites and any of the really big american utes (they fall appart and drink fuel like no tomorrow)
- for some reason Silverado's just ain't built right - all the rest are mostly pointless for their "presence" - pathetic load capacity, either tow OR load - with a crew on board.
Finally someone not talking our their ass all the time. Most modern utes are great

Agreed man! I’d never seen someone wire after the battery terminal fuses! Also never through to check that they did wire it there 😂

Mazda are fine, it’s ford you’ve gotta worry about
😂😂
Hey bro, atleast you're using it properly. I don't car watchya drive as long as you use it for what it's made for and utes are made for the hardyards
Agreed mate!
What's wrong with Mazda? My Mazda 2 hatchback is 22 years old, and it's doubled as a farm truck for part of its life.
Getting stuck in water then being able take a 4 Hour trip is definitely a great truck to have
4hrs under water! 2 day trip!
Correct 😂😂

I dont buy a mazda because they jack parts prices up 5x what isuzu does.
You can just go to Isuzu!
And isuzu is suzuki
