I was born and raised in Pompeii until 2012, my family and I had to move because of some problems, I was really sad about it and two years later I exposed these feelings to my father, he promised me that we would be back, at least to visit my old friends. A while later he showed up with the tickets for the concert, I was so happy I started crying in front of him. I really love my dad :)

I am moved to tears with every Pink Floyd song I listen to. Every song touches my soul and takes me back to happier times, times as a young child wearing my dads big earphones and being taken away to places I never dreamed possible. My dad toured many of your gigs and worshipped you Floyd, his Impeccable taste passed on to his children and grandchildren. My first Engagement cake had the dark side of the moon cover on it from my dad. We lost dad during the first wave of COVID, the service was an allotted time slot of just 10 minutes, there were No words so instead we had two Floyd tracks speak for us, we chose Comfortably numb and Time but this song is my dad all over 🙌🏻🌈💎❤️🔥💔

David Gilmour enabled mid-roll ads. He could’ve solely put them at the beginning and end of the video, but guess he needs more money for his craft. I don’t blame him, we’re in harsh financial times, especially music artists and “non-essential” workers.
The first time I heard this was in Joshua Tree laying in the back of my pickup with my girlfriend. It was magic. The milky way universe was right there and the music took us away.
I am now 64 and they have been part of my life for 50 years, never a week passes without one or more albums being played and never a week when a tear does not fall, just so lucky to be in the presence of genius for so long. Thank you David, you will never know the impact you and the band have had on so many for so long in so many ways - all positive.
This is for my brother who passed away in October of this year… Vietnam Veteran. USMC… miss you so much so I dedicated this to you. Love you very much. Shine on brother … your little sister Susie… With love RIP ❤😢
This song man. We've been through so much together. Imagine a 19 year old kid who lost his car, had to decide between eating turkey sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or buying a pack of smokes for the week until payday hit. This song was there for me in that time. walking to bus stops in several inches of snow in the Colorado streets, sitting on my bus with darkness outside the window. This song was there for that. Every note just brought me back, and even though it was a "dark time" I look back on it with fondness, and warmth
My parents played this during a camping trip when I was about 9 years old and it made me feel things on levels I didn't understand. This has always been one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs.
You look up and 4 minutes have gone like it was nothing, the average pop song length and we're just getting warmed up. One of the greatest songs of all time, and one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun. Shine on you crazy diamond. Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky. Shine on you crazy diamond. You were caught in the crossfire of childhood and stardom, blown on the steel breeze. Come on you target for faraway laughter, come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine! You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon. Shine on you crazy diamond. Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light. Shine on you crazy diamond. Well you wore out your welcome with random precision, rode on the steel breeze. Come on you raver, you seer of visions, come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine! (Posting lyrics so I can sing along.)
David, if you read this, you've been such an inspiration to me. The world may say others are best, faster, younger, but to me, you are the single greatest guitarist to ever pick up the guitar.
The lyrics bring tears to my eyes every time I hear them. I have struggled with mental illness since I was little, from childhood abuse. I want this song played at my funeral. Despite my life issues, I hope I can shine on long after I am gone, to my small family at least
sé que eres un ser maravilloso, lo sé por tus sentimientos tan heridos y a la vez tan puros. siempre serás alguien maravilloso y cuando llegue ese momento DIOS te recibira en sus blancas manos.

I was introduced to Pink Floyd in high school by this rocker pothead kid who was always slacking and getting high at lunch. I was kinda scared of him, being a super nerdy girl and all, but he played Pink Floyd on the bus ride home and my mind just exploded. So yeah, I hope he’s still alive somewhere. Thanks, pothead kid from high school.👍🏻
I’m tempted to say “what a beautiful song” but it would be wrong. This song is much, much more than beautiful, for me. Is magic, is dream, is soul and balance. It’s blessing for my temper and mood.

David is one you can learn from. No complicated chords or real technical riffs. Simple yet elegant is how you describe it. The 6th fret chord is pure magic.
Dave doesn’t play chords
He plays emotions
His ability to flow so perfectly yet its so basically simple in theory his application of the technique is virtually flawless and in a way refined with his age to the point of effeortlessness on his part

I just love the everlasting smile on that drummers face! Can’t blame him… A great gig in the sky.
Gilmour comes off as a quiet, almost dry personality. Apparently he carries all his emotions in his fingers. He’ll always be one of the best ever.
Much like Neil Peart. R.I.R.P.
He is simply the best EVER... A sIx string genius

David Gilmour debería ser nombrado patrimonio de la humanidad.
A poetic overstatement, in the spirit of Pink Floyd.
David Gilmour has more feeling in his little finger than most bands have over their entire lifetime. This song is timeless.
Just listening to this after 'Stairway to heaven', another classic of the same era. They just don't get any better.
I completely agree with you about it!! Pink Floyd Forever Please, Thank you!!!!!!!
Zeppelin and pink f are pioneers in this era. Their music shaped up the whole rockstage.

Perfect ❤.

We lost dad during the first wave of COVID, the service was an allotted time slot of just 10 minutes, there were No words so instead we had two Floyd tracks speak for us, we chose Comfortably numb and Time but this song is my dad all over 🙌🏻🌈💎❤️🔥💔

adblock baby!
David Gilmour enabled mid-roll ads. He could’ve solely put them at the beginning and end of the video, but guess he needs more money for his craft. I don’t blame him, we’re in harsh financial times, especially music artists and “non-essential” workers.
And should spend the afterlife listening to MadCap laughs.

One of the best solos ever!
Loved your comment ❤
And I bet things got better from there….been there
Now that is the power of music. Music is there for us when nothing else is.
It's our darkest moments we remember with fondness the most because they made us who we are today.
Hope things got easier. I know we probably felt so mature and old at 18 or 19, but little did we know about the world! And yes..this song, man!
My parents played this during a camping trip when I was about 9 years old and it made me feel things on levels I didn't understand. This has always been one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs.
