Spend money on the Vases....then fill them with grocery store florals....fabulous!! I admire Mrs. Rheinstein's decision to buy an art piece with her income before she left a position. You can tell the Rheinsteins are thoughtful and careful money managers.
I came back to this video for inspiration and just noticed how gently Suzanne touches Susanna´s arm when looking for complicity on her anechdotes. What an adorable lady!

The most extraordinary coincidence... An hour ago I was standing in my cellar here in Paris staring at a tub of leftover paints I’ve saved over the years in case I needed to touch up a paint job, realizing that none of them would match any of my current interior, and wondering what would result if I simply mixed them all together. I came up, saw the notification for a new Quintessence video, and sat down to watch it. In it I had the answer to my question: DRAB! Extraordinary. I’m also working on the biography of a 18/19th century bird painter, so her bird paintings struck me as well. Would love to know who the artist is. Such synchronicity. Thank you, powers that be, and thank you, the well-named Quintessence.

We use the dining room for breakfast. For most meals, it’s meant to be enjoyed. If you have guests you need the big table.

That's nothing new. I've been doing that to my 20-year old sofa - I've had to put a throw over each arm though - all frayed and holey from constant use.
This home has such an ease and beautiful elegance that is timeless and you just don’t see that in modern design today.

Some homes are just gorgeous but you don't feel you can touch anything, this home was beyond gorgeous and yet I felt that I could walk around and be very comfortable and as you said, not stuffy. It was a feast for the eyes inside and out! I would have been in repose heaven in her backyard!

I watched it again last night such a beautiful video to see before bed. I love the patina antiques character. I remember following her publications in Southern Accents and Veranda. She’s like Bunny Williams definitely one of a kind and Such an inspiration.

i love her trick of using a throw to cover up the wear and tear, it's so practical , i hate it when everything is perfect. my gran taught me that, they didn't have a lot of money but her house was so sweet and decorated the way she wanted it. my house is decorated with many things from the sally ann and i love it

6.7.20 ~ I so enjoyed touching lives w/Suzanne through this visit to her enchanting home. I wish we could have stayed for at least a week & seen all her dishes & the rest of her home. The garden was "perfect" as can be be! Just lovely from start to finish!
