Like, if 2 little girls are playing, they probably wouldnt wanna be the peasent and would fight over being the princess. So they made the popstar appealing so girls could buy both dolls and play with each other.

I feel like its worth mentioning that the voice actor for the popstar, who they said has a horrible voice actor, is actually voiced by a professional voice actor who did things such as RainbowDash in my little pony and even a few other barbie movie characters. that is simply what her voice sounds like

I remember Princess and the Popstar being one of my favorite Barbie movies to rent out at the library. There is a VeggieTales version with the same name that came out a year before this Barbie version. The VeggieTales version is obviously similar to this version, but it has a different conflict at the end of the movie that causes the two girls to switch back at the end. So yeah, it's great to see this movie again that I haven't seen in years. 🎤👑
They’re really playing into the “they’re all actors” bit from Fashion Fairytale as an excuse to reuse models - the “I’d better check with his majesty” guy is the Hot Dog Man from the same movie; the fairies’ models from FF aren’t even changed in the slightest; the background dancers are all students from Princess Charm School (one that I noticed right away was ‘Portia’); and as far as I’m aware the small hat lady is also a reused model, but from which other character I’m unsure.
