Okay so I’m 21 and I don’t even know how many times I’ve watched all three seasons by now, so I thought about why this show is just so good: The show pictures everything a girl wishes for - best friends that seem to live only five minutes away from your house, part-time mermaid life, almost everyday sunny weather. It gives us this good old “before the internet” feeling - if you want to see your friends, call them on their Nokia 3310 and meet up in the Juice Net Cafe, where everyone hangs out in their free time. The characters are just master pieces. Riki’s sarcasm? Unmatched. Or what about Louis being the greatest friend you could wish for? And don’t forget about Cleo’s dad who absolutely masters the art of being A DAD. (If you’d want to come up for a definition of “being a dad” you could just look at him.) Look at the places. All their houses look genuinely like homes. They are constantly at the beach or swimming in beautiful coral riffs. And the Juice Net Cafe? Just straight up retro cool. The relationships are authentic - there’s good times, there’s drama, there’s fights and sometimes the characters are doing something wrong. It just shows that relationships are never perfect and that it’s totally normal to be mad at your besties sometimes. Also, the constant fights between Cleo and Kim show exactly what it’s like having a sibling. Love stories! - Cleo and Louis from friends to lovers, Emma from secret admirer of Byron to his girlfriend, Riki and Zayn from enemies to lovers. Exactly that kind of love story your middle school self wished for. And last but not least: the insane amount of detail: the realistic look of the mermaid tails, the sarcastic jokes that are so good they are funny even 10 years later, the character developments. This show is just great and I’m pretty sure it will never not be great.
the show is absolutely iconic I'm 21 and I literally rewatch it every summer out of nostalgia😌🙋🏼♀️ and It really did hold up pretty well imo. I think the storytelling and character development the first 2 seasons is pretty damn good! We would even be in little floaties shaped like boats and than act like we stumbled over and transformed into mermaids while making bubbles. A few times, other kids joined too.

This was my SHIT growing up!!! It was kind of a powerfantasy, like instead of figuring out which Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle you were, you'd tyr and figure out which H2O girl you'd be. Rikki, Emma, or Cleo. (Rikki was always my favorite, being a total badass with an interesting relationship with the bad boy and the most dramatic storylines, but Cleo got sort of the Protagonist treatment since HER house was a reacurring set location and her Wiill-they-won't-they with Lewis.)

@@emmaearthling444 I agree 1000% and *will die on this hill,* I thought of Zane to be super toxic if not straight back stabbing to Rikki numerous times throughout the show. He always pissed me off but after being in a few relationships that weren’t great myself growing up and now rewatching the show, I’m realizing it feels like Zane was only ever there for Rikki when *he* wanted something, he ditched her more times that I can count, basically dumped the responsibility of co-owning a cafe on her with the promise she’d be the face of it and wouldn’t be broke anymore with no warning, *and* let’s not forget that time he cheated on her. Zane seems to make Rikki happy so I understand why people like him but to me that doesn’t make up for the straight up bullying he displayed towards Cleo earlier on in the show and how selfish he constantly acted for his own benefit. Sending Cleo off in a boat in the middle of the ocean without a spark plug and throwing her into a pool after she said she was sick told me all I needed to know about his character in the first few episodes, I never liked him and never will. Maybe at the end of the day it’s just a kids show and not that serious, but Zane’s character was basically built off of everything that makes a bully and was super manipulative, especially in the earlier show and I do think it’s important to hold him accountable as a character instead of just forgetting about it because him and Rikki ended up together.
As one of your regular viewers from Australia I would legit pay for membership only videos if you guys watched the rest of this series, or at least just all the way through season 1 pretty pleeease 😂😂💕 p.s I grew up not far from where this was filmed so I love recognising all the local areas and landmarks, the 'marine park' in the background of heaps of episodes and where Cleo works is our local Seaworld. This show gives me hella nostalgia not just for the time but the place too, I have so many personal memories on the same beaches and local fishing docks in the show 😊

@@Henny.777 couldn’t have said it better myself. Rikki was my fav and deserved better
@@Ches19.until he cheated on her yea
As an Australian, this was such an integral part of my childhood. Such a throwback!
This show gives me hella nostalgia not just for the time but the place too, I have so many personal memories on the same beaches and local fishing docks in the show 😊
this show was such a big part of my childhood, think it came out when I was around 10, my friends and I use to play mermaids in the pool or at the beach. And as an Aussie myself, it's awesome that this show was made in Australia.
Each video I lose more hope that Aaron will ever understand the difference between British and Australian accents lol
Cleo was my fav, Rikki is my spirit animal, Emma is my personality 😆
Apparently at 5 I didn't know Australia existed 🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
I love this show, i watched it every evening when it was on tv. Aspecially since i loved swimming and mermaids in generell when i was a teen so x3 this show was my favorit.
I'd be so happy to be able to instantly boil water, I hate waiting for water to boil when I'm cooking. But if she does that to the ocean we all dead
Y’all are just comedy gold my dudes 😭🤣🤣
I love how murder being a possibility for the other powers besides water manipulation makes them still cool.
As an Aussie the way Jo kept having to translate words to Aaron made me laugh so much.
I feel like you guys would love this show so much! You should watch the whole show it’s the best kind of confidently awkward humor, especially in the later seasons
This is the hardest I’ve laughed at a RUclips video in such a long time my sides hurt, thank you guys for going over my favorite show from my childhood.
Unironically this show became me and my roommates night routine for months 💀 moved onto Mako mermaids afterwards too. Shit is delightful

Aaron really be letting the intrusive thoughts win every video 😂
This show was my shit when I was younger, every time I encountered a pool or the ocean I had to play mermaid until my parents would literally drag me out 💀 honestly even know I watch it every once in a while, brings back the old memories
As an Australian, I'd watch this every afternoon after school. So iconic
finally you guys reacted to this masterpiece
I'm thinking lagoon is a solid choice for "pool that gives you mermaid powers" Aaron 😂
I need them to just react to the whole show. This was the most entertaining thing I’ve seen all day
We NEED you guys to watch the entire season of this
Lmaoo the buff ass dude jumping onto the boat as rikki 😂😂 probably my fav video you guys have out so far because I loved this show
guess it's time to watch Aaron and Jo react to an entire show !! I can't wait
Omg this is one of my favourite childhood shows. They are Australians, also it's an Australian series. You guys should check out Mako Mermaids too. It's the series that comes after H2o.
Just started rewatching this recently and Lewis was the main character all along 😌
This brings me so much joy seeing people appreciate this legendary show
The amount of nostalgia I get when I see this show is overwhelming. I used to love this show so much. ❤
Aaron: ‘Is he actually going to be a character in this?’ Wait til he finds out Zane and Rikki eventually have a full blown romance with eachother 😂
Who ever didn’t pretend they had mermaid powers was seriously missing out even my guy best friend played “mermaid” with me at the pool because we both watched H20 and Mako Mermaids 🧜♀️ ❤😂loved every second of it
never thought i’d see the day these two would watch this😂❤️
This video was HILARIOUS thank you for reminding me of everything I love about H2O and your channel!
H2O is ICONIC and also Emma was my lesbian awakening so you guys are not allowed to dislike it
I used to ship Emma and Rikki lol
Please continue this H2O wash such a big part of me and my family’s life for some reason and I do the feet kicking thing on my bed when watching this
Please watch more!!! My favorite video you guys have ever made!!!💗💗
I still rewatch this show from time to time. There's just something about this, house of anubis, and every witch way that had a hold on 10 year old me
This show was the ABSOLUTE BEST!! Hope y’all love it as much as me… 🌊🌊🧜♀️
i’ve rewatched this show a good 15 times in my life
this was every girl's childhood haha so cool you reacted to it, please watch episodes of the other seasons too, season 2 is the best but season 3 is interesting too! :)
WHEN I SAW 🧜♀️ I THOUGHT IT WAS LITTLE MERMAID. NOT THIS.
This was my ENTIRE childhood. My mum helped the team make the casting for the mermaid tails - I LIVE FOR THIS
Oh my gosh its finally happening! Loved this show as a kid and love you guys!
The intro is always iconic
This show will always have a place in my heart. I wanted so badly to just run away and be a mermaid with my friends
2 people from the H2O original cast, were also main characters in the CW show, "The Originals", which is a spin-off show for "The Vampire Diaries"; Phoebe Tonkin and Claire Holt.
This show really fueled my mermaid phase, great show. Also, you'd be surprised at the amount of near-death in this show. They've almost killed alot of people.
You guys have to watch life with Derek! It’s free on RUclips and that show was an integral part of every Canadians childhood
Please do more H20! And after u have watched a decent amount, compare it to Mako Mermaids (the other Australian mermaid show - it’s very good)! U guys are sitting on gold mine commentary, Keep it up ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
1:40 that stunt double was BUILT
this show is my whole childhood and i just learned they have an aussie accent cuz i watched it dubbed in my 1st language lmaoo
Yeah it’s an Australian tv show, I didn’t even realise it was shown in other countries with dubs and everything until all the comments under this video hahaha glad we all had the mermaid obsession from this show in our childhood
