Sounds fucking sweet man! Beautiful rig, I got a 1990 scottsdale k1500, built 350, I've been running it open headers for awhile now, sounds badass but kinda "illegal" I love the sound of trueduels, or super 44s, I'm taking my rig to the exhaust shop to get a whole new exhaust to go with my new headers I put in
Sounds good. I have a 97 with x pipe. That delayed start you are experiencing is from your starter being weak. If you replace it won’t have the delayed start.
Not bad for a 98 model GM truck. I have a 94 with the throttle body engine. I have the knock off flowmaster mufflers by Jones. It sounds just like mine, and I have the one chamber version mufflers without cats, so mine is just barely quieter. I dig the lift, and that’s next on my list of things to do. I have already geared mine to 4.10’s from the factory 3.73’s.
Just and old school texas tip. To stop the code issue for back pressure install lolly pops. We use to take the baffels out of the exhaust on our harleys and put I bolts in. Just enough back pressure to keep it running and streigh exhaust. The I bolt has to be close to the diamiter of the pipe.
Just re route the cut outs to the tail pipes. I know it's more screwing around but it gets rid of the fluttering leaky sound and directs that noise out the back
I like how you painted RC skid plate white! I have same lift except I have the Realift torsion bar relocater adapters. (They started producing them again)They put your T bars back to factory location. I was high centering on those ugly drop brackets.
This happened to a friend of mine. He was building a chevy and he had the front driveshaft out, then had his exhaust done up. The ran the exhaust right where the driveshaft goes. That's gotta suck lol
People are crazy to think back pressure isnt a thing, cuz it is and having back pressure makes your truck feel like it has a pair vs no back pressure it feels like a gutless wonder.
Back pressure makes you lose power. Hello people, why do you think we uncork out headers when we goto the drag strip? Oh yeah DUH! Because it makes more power with no back pressure! It’s rocket science people don’t get to involved LMAO! Bunch of morons!
Reppin the shithole! 😂😂 Harrison/stone area. 💪 The truck looks and sounds pretty damn good there brother! Nice job on it. I just went and bought a 1 owner 95 Silverado 1500 bout to swap out the bed for a step side, add ground effects, rain guards, and run a set of dual flowmaster 40 series exhaust to 4 inch tips. Gotta love them oldschool Chevys!
Your truck will never run right with the cat delete. It will always have a check engine light on but the worst part is without cats the truck will always run rich. Nice looking truck👍
Sounds good, but it'd better sound great if you are claiming to be the best sounding OBS. I've currently got long tube headers going to a y pipe and straight catless 3" single. It's loud as hell from the passenger's side. I wanted to keep the stock tailpipe. It worked great with the stock mildly modified engine. Sadly, after aluminum heads and a roller cam, the 3" single pipe only supports 369ish hp. I'm going to build a 2 3/4" into 4" y pipe off of the headers and run an aftermarket 4" single open exhaust system for a 6.5l diesel. That will support around 657hp. My fuel injection system can support 650hp. Then I'll be ready for a centrifugal supercharger. I'm not sure how much power I'll be making with a charger but the one I've got my eyes on is rated for 750hp. I'm only going to rev it to 5800-6000, or until i run out of injector. Dual exhaust is louder but a well-built single can give better power.. you can utilize the scavenging effect from all 8 cylinders instead of treating it like 2 separate cylinder engines. My single doesn't lope as much at idle as a dual system.. and single systems typically sound like you're turning 1000rpms higher than you really are. Install those headers. The exhaust manifolds are better than some, but they are still pretty restrictive. Sbc F-body manifolds are absolute trash but the trucks are better. Super free flowing exhaust gives you more power above peak torque. In these trucks, call it 2800rpms. Oversized pipes will slow the exhaust velocity and hurt scavenging below peak torque. Similarly, smaller pipes will boost part throttle and power below peak torque due to the better velocity, but the flow cannot keep up at higher engine speeds. The ideal pipe size is a fine line. I've done the whole dual exhaust thing before but now I'm going for something a little different. When I rev my engine, it blows hard out of the tailpipe. One time I was revving it and it rippled a big blue tarp like a flag blowing in a strong wind. Try some 0-60 tests with the cut-outs open and again with them closed. I'll bet you don't see much of a difference because your pipes are oversized anyway. I think it sounds better with then closed. It sounds more crisp. I'll be checking out a few more of your videos. I've got a set of boggers that I bolt on to play in the mud too 33x14-16. Mine is stock height tho. No lift like yours.
I put shortys on my tahoe obs. No bolts broke👍 long tuff job. I did shorty header on dodge 318 98 Durango . The bolts broke! I used high temp silicone to seal the header. Later junked the dodge.lol
@@dirtysouthstandards well that's sorta what I said but I've put more pipe on Trucks than I'd imagine youve ever seen sweetie I've been a mechanic for 13years now true dual is what it says true dual one pipe for each manifold/header no cats no muffler a true dual means there is nothing else but tips on the truck if you want to see what that looks and sounds like I'll send you a video of both my trucks
I have hooker headers and mufflers on my 86 sbc and I like the headers but mufflers have no character im gonna put cherry bomb glass packs while I save up for some flowmaster super 10s
With a 6-inch lift you don't need longer driveshafts? I just had the factory stock pipe I don't have duels exhaust thought about doing a 6-inch lift but if I have to do drive shafts and brake line extensions and I'll just do a 4" lift
Did your lift come with the add a leaf? Mine did, I put them in and I can’t get the truck to sit level without the front sitting in the upper control arm bump stops, any thoughts?
Fe_athletics well with rough country, the way they expect u to get 6 inches outta the front is by raisin the torrsion bars so your doing it right believe it or not. I would get some low profile bump stops to get u a little more room or take out the add a leaf and get a 3 in block for the rear
What’s a good 6” lift for the OBS Chevy K1500? I see RC for $1000 which people talk bad about for what reason I don’t know 🤷🏻♂️. Then I see Others which are twice as expensive like the BDS LIFT! Any thoughts and suggestions will help! Thanks guys!
Love the truck but honestly sounds like every other straight piped chevy out there
Man that dang ol Chevy man , can't beat it man , dang ol straight pipe man, sounding good man,
my 96 1500 305, is straight piped and it dont sound like that. i got a flowmaster to put on it. hope it sounds just like his. so fucking loud lol
My 3/4 ton sounds totally different. Factory dual exhaust to 2 punched cats and then nothing. Dumps out in front of the rear axle.
@@davidburton6347 I was thinkin tha same mine runs out by the rear bumper cowboy cut into some 3.5 by 6 resonator tipa
But hey you have to admit it that older Chevy's sound good when straight piped
Beautiful truck man! My grandparents had a 94 extended cab short bed with a 350 when I was a kid, these old chevys are just pure nostalgia for me
A whole lotta South Carolina in one video. If you know you know
408 Bullrider atleast she aint squated lol
Ain’t nothing wrong with the 803 but squats can’t stand that about our state but love your truck man
843 right here! Reppin Horry county
Hell yeah 864
Awesome truck brother! Trucks like ours always look and sound good! Keep on keepin on!

Jake Lewis yeah i replaced it a little while after this video
I like the mini torque
Sounds great I think it's sounds very powerful and could do anything keep up the great work to your truck
Where did you get your vortec badges at on the doors?
Every obs truck owner thinks their truck sounds the best but I have the best sounding one 😂😂😂

Roy Sancho i bet that does sound good!
Did I finally find a individual that doesn't beat the shit out of their truck unlike the idiots here in Iowa?
That exhaust drone though lol
Just re route the cut outs to the tail pipes. I know it's more screwing around but it gets rid of the fluttering leaky sound and directs that noise out the back
What about the egr valve? How you get the check engine light to stay off?
Did u build those headlights yourself? If so build me a set ill buy them lol. Im looking for some better headlights for my 99 obs suburban
Sounds good what flowmaster series are you running
The first pass with out the cats sounded really good
Nice sounding. I've got true dual with a x pipe and hollowed out hulls. And cats are pretty much non-existent lol.
Good sounding truck!!!

How did u do ur headlights bud awesome
The second drive by sounds like my truck n I have cats in it still. I’m runnin a true dual straight pipe with 3in x 15in magnaflow tips
Dylan Schiermeyer your not running straight pipes if your cats are still in
I put headers on my obs true dual straight pipe.
This happened to a friend of mine. He was building a chevy and he had the front driveshaft out, then had his exhaust done up. The ran the exhaust right where the driveshaft goes. That's gotta suck lol
What electric cutout did you use?
That does sound amazing.

dmay950 umm it is bro? 😂

Man you could make this sound a lotttt better. Do headers, some sort of short glasspacks in place of the cats, y pipe and a 14" straight thru
I love my straight into 3.5 by 6 resonator tips and I just put a set of headers on it
It really sounds good madness truck ... 👍 Love tht truck chevy Rock...
Sounds like connecting rod bolts sliding down the down pipes
Jay B right on bud🙄
Didn’t know you were from Mississippi and rankin we are close brother

Ditch the flows, throw some black widow widowmakers on her. You wont be disappointed
How much did your exhaust before this one cost to have put on I plan doing something like it or was it the original sound?
Love my 93 c1500 no cats and sounds knarly headers are rusted out with 168k

False. Obd1 trucks don’t need a cat as there’s only one o2 sensor in the drivers side manifold. None after the cat
I put long tubes on mine, sounds amazing!
This truck sounds like iowa😂😂
Is tour nut missing on your top left front shock
How does it run without the cats did you get rid of the 02 sensors and do you get engine codes?
What type of Flowmaster are you using?
Sounds Like 40s
sounds nice. i used to like the california turbo mufflers. i think by thrush.

How u do the pods in ur headlights

I also have a Matthew’s SoloCam bow.
