For the dough:
✰ 1 cup water (240ml)
✰ 2 tbsps melted unsalted butter (28g)
✰ 2 tbsps granulated sugar (25g)
✰ 1/4 tsps salt
✰ 1 cup all purpose flour (120g)
✰ 1 large egg (52g)
✰ 1 tsp vanilla extract (5ml)
For the sugar:
✰ 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100g)
✰ 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
Frying:
✰ 640g vegetable oil
✰ Fry 1-2 pieces at a time
✰ Keep temp between 350-365F
✰ Fry until golden brown

Tips below for those who might need them:
* if this is your first time making churros, don’t skip through the vid. You’ll need all the info
* If your flour is clumpy, sift it before mixing it in. And look up how to properly store flour so it doesn’t happen in the first place

another tip : when putting the flour always sift it through because when i didnt do it it was always clumpy and clumps of flour wouldnt mix through.

All fried foods are best eaten hours after they’re fried. If you leave these overnight they’ll become soggy 💜

I made these before and they were really good but, I found the dough was really dry even though I added exactly 52 grams of egg, what can I do this time to prevent this? Thx ❤

Eat them fresh. Anything fried is better fresh so they don’t get soggy 🖤🥰
Hey! I’m super late but you can make them the day before! I just slightly put them in the mini oven toasters and heat them for about two minutes. That way they stay crunchy! Make sure not to leave it in too long since it may be too crunchy! Hope yours turned out great :))))

If you’re making regular churros, you can pop them into the oil. Use scissors as you go. But if you’re making hearts, you need the parchment paper
Can you make this without a star tip im a beginner baker and I don’t really have a piping bag or tip and can I use a plastic baggie instead?
I think you can but it won’t give that texture or design you look for in a churro

Can the dough be refrigerated over night or would that ruin it?
Yes, you can refrigerate it. Make sure to store an in air tight container. Wrap the dough in plastic film just to make sure it’s sealed well. Refrigerate for no longer than 24 hours

Hi I just made these and I had trouble piping. What do you recommend ?
Let the dough cool down for no longer than 5 mins. If the churro dough is too cold, it can be harder to pipe
Is it okay to make it without a vanilla? in my country it's kinda very hard to find vanillas almost every store doesn't have vanilla
I think it's so it doesn't smell so much like egg, that's what I heard from a different video !

You can skip the vanilla if you don’t have it
What is the egg for?
Do u need a large piping bag? Or will any one work and where did u get the dulce de leche
You can use a small piping bag. Just make sure not to overfill so it doesn’t spill out. And use the correct tip. You’ll have to refill it but otherwise, works just fine 🖤
what oil do i fry in?
Vegetable oil
hi !! i tried this but it wasnt moist enough, so i had a hard time piping it. my dad told me it needed more moisture, i only added 1 egg and 1 tsp of vanilla extract. should i use 2 eggs next time? or just add a splash of milk?
Did you measure your egg? It needs to be a large egg (50g). Using a smaller egg will effect the texture. And make sure your piping tip is large enough. Adding too much moisture will make the batter stick to the parchment paper and they won’t fry properly

Yes you can make it what ever shape you want as long as the recipe is correct
is there any substitute for eggs :( ?
Traditional churros don’t have eggs so there’s a few recipes online. The eggs help them puff up when frying and they’re easier to pipe out. Outcome might be a bit different but I’m 99% sure it’ll still work

Yes but then skip the salt mentioned because the butter already has salt
My star tip wouldn’t stay on the bag and kept falling off, any tips to make it stay on the bag
put the tip inside the bag not on the outside, also make a smaller cut
I keep adding flour to make it not be sticky but it still is what do I do?
You also have to keep mixing the dough over low heat until it’s no longer sticky. When you first dump the flour, it’s quiet sticky. Keep mixing next time and don’t add too much flour it’ll dry it out

Don’t worry too much, baking takes time and the more you do it the easier it gets. Messing up will help you get better, it’s part of the process 🎀🖤

The shape is too annoying to be filled. But you can try if you have patience. I prefer to dip it in the dulce de leche ❤
My dough came out kinda tough and not very smooth and I followed the directions step by step idk what I did wrong 😞
Few things can be the issue. Did you measure in grams or cups? If you’re using cups make sure to measure properly by levelling the flour so you don’t accidentally add too much. when you dump the flour in , you have to mix it immediately. If you let it sit for too long it doesn’t mix in properly. Also, check your flour. If it has lumps that means it’s not being stored properly and needs to be sifted before using. Try that next time
