- #NavyCon was held at the U.S. Naval Academy Museum on November 18, 2017 to discuss how fleets and navies are portrayed in science fiction and scifi’s lessons for today’s navy. Our apologies for the video quality; we expect to correct it for next year’s event.
i find it so cool that our military is interested in historically based and extrapolated hard SF stories. This really made me grin from ear to ear
Not that surprising remember the Heinlein connections after all
Thank GOD I’m reading Ashes of Victory right now, otherwise I just about would of had the CLACs and Pod super-dreadnoughts spoiled.
Impressive! Always an Honor supporter.
Excellent presentation! I'm glad I watch the whole thing, I am going to buy the shirt 😎.
And holy fuck, this guy IS good with the source material! Ohhhh, a Jackie Fisher reference! Sweet!
Also the Royal Manticorian Navy. --this is a dude i would love to speak to.
I'm right here.
And I ask this, in the hope that people be polite. Is this the origin of the United Spates Space Command?
We almost dare to wish...
@@seand.g423 right?
Are arsenal ships pod-equivalents?
Functionally similar, yes.
This guy needs to practice a bit... Big Honor (and Hammer Slammer/RCN/BSG/Farscape/B5 and others) fan!
Yes. He is reading straight from a script. I am sure it took him a long time to write, but it makes the presentation very dull. He should use cue cards with 4-5 keywords and 2-3 sentences and use those to move the speech forward.
