  • Andrew Faltum, "The Supercarriers: The Forrestal and Kitty Hawk Classes," Eight Bells Book Lecture, Naval War College Museum, April 2, 2015.
The USS Forrestal (CV 59) recently left Narragansett Bay on its final voyage. When she was commissioned in 1955 she was the first of the supercarriers that included Saratoga, Ranger, Independence, Kitty Hawk, Constellation, America, and John F. Kennedy. All of them were mainstays of the Cold War and saw extensive service around the world. The book discusses the operational histories of these ships over fifty year and is replete with illustrations and maps.

I don't think this guy says "Now" enough. A few more million times should do it.

Very good and informative. My suggestion is to move camera closer to screen which would make it better to see. thank you

Sorry, but he acts like he is giving someone else's lecture. I expected better and more. For example, why was the angle of the deck changed in the carriers after Kennedy?
