The story behind the song:
Each time we write/arrange a tune we take a journey. We have to admit-this journey took us a lot further than we expected. Retracing our steps reveals several factors that made this a reality. As we started arranging it we had serious writer's block. Perhaps some of the worst we've ever had. In fact, one day instead of writing we went around the entire studio with a can of WD-40 and coated every piece of metal to ensure that we were a squeak-free studio. Then on a whim we decided to back away and take an entirely new approach to the song-an African approach. It may seem random in retrospect, but at the time it was an exciting way to restart the arrangement. It was working, but our journey still was on foot until we called in Alex Boye, one of the most talented people we've ever met. Alex has this contagious energy that gave new... We'd like to thank from the bottom of our hearts, Duane Fielding who offered the helicopters and SkyHawk www.skyhawkheli... for not dropping the piano... :-) Half-way through the first day of shooting we discovered that, as typical guys, we had forgotten to bring ANY food or water to this remote location. We had two options: one, wrestle a mountain rodent and harvest cacti or two, starve. Duane, our head pilot, took pity on us. He took off (literally) and moments later landed in a Wendy's parking lot, ordered 5 of everything (sadly, he couldn't use the drive-through) ...took off again and brought us chicken sandwiches and hamburgers via airmail. Thank you Duane! Flying in your helicopter was a dream come true for us despite the lack of doors. =)

I first heard this in my high school piano class 9 years ago. The teacher asked us to close our eyes, listen to the music and create a story out of it. I won’t tell you the story I formed- but it was quite adventures and … still is. Beautiful music shows us the beauty of life. Thanks to two of my favorite musicians- Alex Boye and the Piano guys. I like how Steven is always smiling when he plays the cello. That's how music is supposed to make you feel. When I used to play the violin as a kid, I wanted to play music from the movies, like star wars. I never got to play what I wanted to, and lost interest. These guys make me wanna play again. They play things that make them happy, not because some teacher wants to play old classical stuff.
Boye's voice matches the scenery: majestic, noble, awe-inspiring, monumental; in a word: glorious. The Piano Guys are pretty neat, too.
It is not true what so many say about so many things.
One thing they say is that perfection is not possible.
Boye and his pianomen here prove it is.

We are lucky to hear this song in live tonight with The Piano Guys in Brisbane. It is so amazing concert! Lots of laughter and beautiful music. My son and me enjoyed every moment. I do appreciate that Steven told kids keeping practicing their string instruments. “You will enjoy the feeling of FLY”. The only thing is the concert is too short. Hope to see you again soon!

When I was young (around 10 years old) I'd listen to this song almost every day, and fell in love with the Cello part. It really inspired me to pick up the Cello. Which I ended up doing a few years later. I learned for about a year, and then switched to the violin. But I still love both instruments. Almost 6 years later, I still come back and listen to this master piece.

Alex Boye, this man is so very talented, and them together, they can't go wrong at all! This is so beautiful, that I have caught myself listening to this song over and over again and again. Por allá del 2013 o 2014 cuando esta canción era relativamente nueva, RUclips te la solía recomendar en el inicio del feed cuando no tenias cuenta creada. Mi abuelo que en ese entonces tenia como 69 años, se había comprado hace poco un Smart TV, nunca supo como usarlo pero una vez entro a RUclips y encontró esta canción, le gusto y una vez en una almuerzo familiar la pusieron para que la escuchemos y veamos. Y siempre tengo ese recuerdo patente, no se por que. Hoy mi abuelo tiene Alzheimer y ya no se acuerda de absolutamente nada, ni siquiera de el.

This all sends chills down my spine every time. Even as someone who likes hard rock, I feel like this here is the absolute pinnacle of music achieved with natural, not-electrically-assisted string instruments.
It's amazing isn't it? Humans are able to take raw, natural materials, process them, repurpose them, build instruments, and make such amazing music. It's awe-inspiring. You never realize just how much potential we have as a race until you look at all of the things we have already done. If only we all took that untapped potential and made use of it.
